The atmosphere is incredible here. I sat on the balcony and watched the sunset and there was a light, refreshing breeze.

The food is good. Unfortunately, as other reviews implied, the location is better than the flavor. I think the quality is there, as is the service, but the price & flavor combo is what brings it down a notch. The flavor isn't premium. I could make equitable food at home. So I'm paying not to do the dishes and enjoy the view of the lake.Had the salmon the first time - which is tasty. My wife had the Piri wrap and wasn't satisfied. I returned for the Spicy Chicken Sandwhich and Beef confit fries. It was spicy, I give them that, but I wouldn't pay $20 for it again. That's how I felt in general, I wouldn't return for that price. Same for the key lime pie. Sorry

Hello, Sailor is a great restaurant in Cornelius, right on Lake Norman! Just being in the lake puts you in a great frame of mind! The ambiance reminds you of something out of the 60s/70s, but super modern touches and beach/lake decor. There inside seating and two outside patios, so you can pull up your boat for lunch or watch other boats come in/pass by. The food is top notch! They have everything from small plates/appetizers to full entrees. And they don't disappoint! The oysters were super fresh, the fries were hot, the catfish was seasoned perfectly on top of the grits and the mussels were full of flavor! The drinks were also super refreshing! The staff were also great and very attentive, checking in regularly on food and drinks. Sunday lunch is a hit! Definitely make your way to Hello, Sailor!

Returned for a Sunday brunch and was just as happy as the first time I visited. I loved my cocktail and the mussels I ordered were so good!!We were pretty hungry upon arrival so we order two servings of fries to hold us over. That did the trick. Such a cool location and I love the MC decor.

Nice spot to enjoy the water - it was very relaxing and coastal feeling! The food was ok! I enjoyed the flavor of the wings but my chicken sandwich was too wet with sauce which made it very very messy to eat! The fries boast to be good in beef fat but I didn't notice anything different but they were good nonetheless! The berry bread pudding was ok as well - I guess they offer different kinds of bread pudding so maybe I'll like another kind better! Our waitress was attentive and took care of us and I think the manager came over and visited us! We would definitely go back for the lake location alone

Hello, Sailor. is a vacation inside a restaurant. Nestled on Lake Norman you will find the popular fun, sunny, casual waterfront restaurant, Hello, Sailor. We went there for our Mothers Day celebration and the line was worth the wait!I was taken back to a hotel we stayed at in Hawaii with a restaurant similar to this. Only Hello, Sailor. is better! The decor is fabulous! First you have views of the water from many parts of the restaurant. There are different decks where you can sit outside and eat while enjoying the lake view. The indoor seating is fabulous too. They have a Photo Booth so you can capture your memories. The service was the best. Our server was busy but made it look effortless.I had the double patty skillet hamburger which is delicious! Must try!We also ordered the Arugula Salad with balsamic vinaigrette, which always taste better with a water view. We already have plans to return for a 30th birthday celebration! Hello, Sailor. is a vacation inside a restaurant.

We checked out this lakeside spot on a blustery stormy day for lunch, and it was still awesome.Great views from the deck overlooking the lake (complete with heaters), attentive servers and interesting food with fun silverware and plates. Our favorites were the smoked piri-piri chicken wrap with garlic aioli - great flavor and texture - and the seared cauliflower steak with romesco topped with a fried egg. Flavor bomb! The interior decor is really a mid-century modern treat with a great separate bar area and various cool little seating spots. We went for lunch but we'll be back for dinner I'm thinking. Very cool spot, no regrets !

The vibes here are amazing! Nice restraunt on the lake with beautiful views. The food & drinks were great. Popcorn shrimp was everything you would expect it be. Good service as they are a busy place but have a lot of waiters to take care of every table.

Loved this place! Came for dinner while on vacation in Charlotte. Make a reservation, they get busy! The ambiance and service was phenomenal and the view is on point- right on the lake! I got the piri piri chicken wrap with the kale salad. So fresh with great flavor! Highly recommend

Casual laid back dining experience. Food was well prepared. Service was sufficiently attentive . Ordered:Blue Crab Claws Appetizer - Served set onto a spread of aioli (AKA mayo sauce) Piri Piri Chicken Wrap - order light aioli if you prefer a lighter dressed wrap.Trout Plate - GREAT Key Lime Pie - TastyOverall was just OK. Didn't have anything that I would consider crave worthy, but maybe that's because I chose more lighter options. Standouts were the Steelehead Trout and Key-lime Pie

I love this place. The service is A1 and the wait staff is all so attentive. I'd go back just to be served by them. The food was really good. We had the smoked wings, crispy chicken sandwich, shrimp tacos and steak. Steak was a little overcooked. Smoked wings were tasty and the dipping sauce was interesting. The chicken sandwich was very tender. I loved that they are dog friendly. I was able to bring my dog and sit on the patio. It will be my go to spot. The views are amazing and it's so cool that you can come off the boat to grab something to eat.
