One of the best veggie burgers I've ever had! I found Heff's from an article that was showing award winning restaurants in Winston and I checked out their menu to be pleasantly surprised by a veggie burger! I ordered online during lunch and the website was a little finicky, so I placed the order and called into the restaurant to get them to customize my order to get a veggie patty instead of a beef one. So a huge thank you to the staff there for making things easy! I got it for myself and my co workers thought it looked so good that they ended up getting some the next day too! Absolutely phenomenal burgers! Will be back.

Best smash burgers you're are going to find anywhere around here, period! That's all you need to know, damn good food!!!The menu changes often and they always well curated burgers and chicken sandwiches to choose from. Don't go here trying to get some basic burger, you won't find it!

Walked in here on a Wednesday evening, ready for dinner. There weren't any other patrons, and there were two folks behind the counter who promptly served me. The ambiance is divey, artsy and hipster. They even have a vending machine with vintage stuff, art, goth gear and more. While I waited, I got a TMNT enamel pin for my niece. I perused the walls. There was a mixture of local art for sale and vintage posters. I ordered the piggy wiggy with fries. I was starving but took it to go because I was also exhausted, so I ate it in the car. The burger is by far one of the best burgers I've had. It's super flavorful, juicy and perfectly cooked. The fries were also crispy, well seasoned and delicious, as were the house-made sauces. A five-star experience, and I cannot wait to return.

Best Burgers in Winston-Salem for sure. Definitely a must try if you are in the area. The piggy wiggy and fatty patty are the best in my opinion. The only thing that could make it better is a ice cold beer to wash it down with

I'm not sure why I keep coming back here. Just hoping the value and the flavor will be better the next time... The amount of food for the price is definitely frustrating. The quality of the meat is fine but there's just not a lot of substance for that much cost. The vibe of the interior is cool. The speed of service is swift.

Funky burger spot in Winston. I was hoping for a little fire flavor and a little thicker of a smash burger. My order was really overdone. Hoping my next visit lives up to the reputation. I will be back. Check out their specials and seasonal menu items! Walk up service and quick to get our food. Fries were on point!

Aesthetic: Old school burger restaurant with a solid smashburger selection, fries, cookies, floats, and drinks. Experience: I love the aesthetic, the decor is vintage and funky. I said I wish I had that art on my wall multiple times. The vending machine was the coolest, I wanted to buy so many goodies. My Ladykiller burger was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I thought the amount of shredded lettuce was a bit much, but that's just a personal preference, I took some off. The crinkle fries were also well seasoned and delicious. I'm excited to go back and try more one day! Conclusion: If you're craving a good burger, this is it if you're in Winston Salem.

I tried this place because my best friend told me that it was the best burger in NC and she was NOT lying. I tried the Fatty Patty and I truly believe that this is the best burger in NC. The ingredients went together so well and I was surprised that I could truly taste the Cheerwine flavor in the sauce. I loved the home spice in the fries too. Even though I was full I really contemplated trying another burger because it was a biblical experience.Service was great and the interior has a really cool retro vibe. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Heffs Burger Bar offers a solid selection of creative and classic sandwiches. The chicken sandwich with pickles was a nice take on a classic, with crispy chicken complemented by the crunch of pickles. The Sporty Spice burger, though, stood out with its unique combination of pepper jelly and pimento cheese, giving it a nice balance of heat and creamy richness. The flavors came together well without overpowering the burger. Overall, a great spot for satisfying, flavorful sandwiches that mix traditional and adventurous elements!

Lots of folks feel this little spot has the best smash burgers in the area, so I wanted to give it a try. They describe their place as a "retro" burger spot, but the burgers as dressed out are far from retro! This is a small place, narrow & rectangular in shape, with simple wooden topped tables and small plastic chairs, encourages grab and go! The entrance door slams shut with a large bang, a bit scary the first time you hear it. All in all, this is hipster type place, reminds me quite a bit of Timmy's, several blocks away.I ordered the double Fatty Patty ($14) and a Tecate ($3)! There is no table service, you order at the register. Since I was eating in, they did bring my order to the table. The burger took about 15 minutes to reach the table, and it was a nice size burger. After a bite or two I realized I didn't care for the way this burger was put together. I did't care for the sour dough bread nor the cheer wine BBQ sauce or the thinly applied pimento cheese - just too much going on with conflicting tastes, masking the taste of the patties and the bacon altogether.I discarded the toasted sour dough, used the handy paper towels to clean off as much as I could of the toppings, and just ate the beef patties and the bacon, though the bacon was limp and curled up. And the patties were good, close to a true smash burger with the defining outside crust somewhat in evidence. But at $14 with sides (crinkle cut fries at $4 to $6) and drink at an additional cost, the burgers here are simply way over priced.I might return, would probably order a customized version of the Piggy Wiggy, but the ambiance, the cost, and the parking downtown are rather daunting. All in all, an overall rating of 3 is probably a bit generous!Ambiance - 2Food - 3Service - 4Value - 3
