Best dog bar in Charlotte, LGBTQ+ friendly, tons of TVs playing sports and movies, a wall with old school video games, a cabinet of tabletop games, free pool and darts, and a decently large but secluded back patio. It's hard to describe quite how special this place is; for all the features and fun things to do, the venue has an effortless vibe and the drinks have the best prices you can find in the city. Don't let that fool you; just about everyone on the bar staff has extensive experience as trained cocktail bartenders, and the top shelf is nothing to scoff at. There are also regular karaoke nights, movie events, and a steady rotation of absolutely amazing food tents and trucks coming through in the parking lot. If you're chill and want to see where the locals hang out, give this storied dive a go!

Part neighborhood pub, part dive bar, Hattie's has a reputation as a hipster hang out (I don't mean that in a bad way but I know some may take it that way). There is no food but they have cheap drinks, old school games, a spacious patio, and they host cool events like bingo night. Their motto is "Mind your P's and Q's" which I found amusing. I have only been in a few times so I can comment on if their patrons typically adhere to this code of conduct! Overall I think it is worth checking out if you've never been and maybe it will grab you and you will want to become a regular. Me personally it's a little out of the way to become a regular haunt located in between Plaza and NoDa but not walking distance from either. Also it's not that the service was ever unfriendly but I just didn't feel like it was my vibe. Still a cool bar though and I can see why other enjoy it.

We pop in for bingo (second Tuesday of the month) and always have a great time! Parking can be a bit of a challenge, so I often find myself parking across the street, though I'm usually going at a busier time. The bar is divey, and you can find very cheap drinks, especially if you go for the daily specials. The bartenders are nice - beware that they do keep your card if you keep your tab open - and seem to know the regulars. In addition to monthly bingo, they seem to host drag events, have video games and board games available to play, as well as several TVs. Plus, dogs can go inside and out.The bar does not serve food, though usually there is a vendor there. Looking forward to next month!

Best dive bar in Charlotte, North Carolina! Halfway between plaza Midwood and NoDa on the North East side of Charlotte (aka the cool part ). If you need a PBR and some Karaoke in a dog friendly and LGBTQ+ friendly environment with board games and an N64 - this is the place for you! Outside seating available as well. Great local bar - always hosts live music and other community events.

I do love Hatties. Great cheap beer and draft beer options. The people watching here is top notch. The bartenders can be dicks sometimes, but I don't mind. I just smile and tip more. Gives the place more character.

Hattie's is my new, favorite neighborhood bar and I don't even live in the neighborhood! When we wandered in around 6pm on a Saturday, we were one of only two couples in there. I was relieved to find a bar in Charlotte that wasn't packed to the max on a Saturday. It was a breath of fresh air. By the time we left around 9pm, it had filled up but not obnoxiously so. I was very impressed by their beer selection. I was expecting PBRs and Bud since they are billed as a dive bar, but they had offerings from Old Meck, Legion, Birdsong, NoDa... All the local favorites! I settled on the OMB Dunkel Weissen and sidled up to the old school Nintendo tempting me from across the room. Sadly, there was no gun to play Duck Hunt so we settled on a little Mario Brothers instead. We poked our heads out back and holy patio, Batman!! Hattie's might just be hiding the best patio in Charlotte! It was rainy and cold the night of our visit but rest assured, once the weather gets better, we will be permanent fixtures out there with our dog.
