Wandering through the residential area surrounding this, I wondered what could be worth the trouble in this seemingly anonymous area. But the birdsong greeted me immediately when I arrived, and the soundscape continued to be quite splendid as I wandered the grounds. It is as beautiful a set of manicured gardens as one could hope for, even during what passes for winter in South Carolina. I'm sure the shade during the warmer months is excellent. Several pieces of the garden were carved out as being sponsored by various local entities, and there were a number of educational signs, but the best thing to do would just be to wander around. The bathrooms weren't in the greatest state of repair; one could reasonably expect better in season. But the woodland preserve itself was the sort of free public resource that is far too rare.

Really beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing, zen place. There were also air conditioned restrooms which was surprising and nice. Throughout the garden there are plenty of benches to sit all over the grounds. We enjoyed it here very much.

We were in town for a volleyball tournament, and had some time to kill in the afternoon. My three kids absolutely loved the trails, little waterfalls, and all the plants. My oldest daughter commented we need to come back here for sure next time. Given the quality inn variety of plants, and the great condition of the trails, I'm amazed it's free.

This is a fantastic spot! The other parks in the area disappointed me, not having much walking area. However, this is a huge walking space filled with beautiful scenery. It is quiet and tucked away, making it a perfect place to walk in and explore. My baby loved hearing all the water, I can't wait until he's older and the flowers are all blooming so he can explore it all.

I am definitely one for beautiful scenery. Hatcher Gardens is a very tasteful place. I lovee going here, especially when the banana tree has grown. It's so beautiful. This place is full of past and present. People have donated time, to help this beautiful place grow. That is what I love most about it. It's so peaceful and quiet. I loveeee to sit by the little waterfall they have and relax. This is a def must see, even if it is just to say that you have been here.

Hatcher Garden will help you relax and forget the stresses of life and THAT is worth a favorable review! There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. I can see no reason that anyone would ever find fault with this place.Hatcher Garden is an unexpected oasis of peace and beauty in the middle of a busy city. It is unassuming from the outside and you may even miss it driving past on the busy street. They don't have huge signs directing people there, they don't do a lot of advertising, that I have noticed, for folks to come visit. They are a public-use garden and landscaped woodland preserve with walkways and waterfalls. There are so many scenic areas for pictures. One could sit and read a book, relax, have a coffee date with a friend. There's just nothing wrong with this place! We have visited many times and this time we saw a wedding, a birthday party, a group of dancers getting professional photos taken, families on a nature walk, couples holding hands walking around. It's open to everyone to come and enjoy the garden however they wish. They also have a few small meeting areas at the entrance where people can congregate for parties.I strongly encourage everyone to visit this wonderful place some time. You will NOT be disappointed.
