Harolds Chicken & Ice Bar - Charlotte

My friend and I were searching for a late-night bite and stumbled across Harold's Chicken & Ice Bar. Options were limited at that hour, so we decided to give it a try. The menu mainly features chicken wings and fries, which is exactly what we ordered. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either--just decent enough to satisfy a late-night craving. If you're looking for something quick and filling, this spot will do. They offer a variety of specialty cocktails, which seemed popular. The drink menu had a good selection, but we didn't try any this time. The place also doubles as a hookah bar, so if you're into that, it might be a plus. The ambiance is casual, and it feels like a place people go more for the vibe than the food since there is a DJ. It's located in an area with several other shops, so parking wasn't an issue, especially at 11 PM on a Saturday.Would I Go Back? If I'm hungry late at night and options are slim, I'd consider stopping by again. It's not a must-visit, but it's convenient and gets the job done.

I'm going to get right to it. I waited an hour for food that was not worth the wait or money. I ordered the chicken wings & livers with fries. Both had too much breading & no flavor. The condiments saved the day. The fries were standard unseasoned frozen fries. I did not order a drink, but my daughter did. She said the drink was too strong. If you are a drunk you might like that. She did not.We waited all that time for food. A group of 3 young men got their food and drinks within 10 minutes of their arrival. I guess it sucks to be us. I will not be going back.

I try to support our people but we make it tough. I can't dine in because the service was terrible last time I was here. I can't place an order online, the website says they don't accept orders from the site? I can't call and place an order. They don't answer the phone... so I was forced to show up and place an order, of course nobody is in the front so I'm just standing there.I place my order, it's about a 20min wait (which again is why I tried to order aheadOf time). I asked for the grilled shrimp, the lady said they don't have that. When it's on the menu?? And said they only have shrimp skewers which IS NOT in the menu?? lol. And said their menu isn't updated. Ordered the livers and gizzard. I paid and walked out. They called saying they have to prepare them and it will take a HOUR. Yall open at 11am and it's 3pm? How aren't you all prepared. I forgot why I don't come here and was reminded. The ETA for the food was 20mins but came in at the 40 min mark and still wasn't ready. It's like like this place wasPacked, look at the pictures, nobody was in there.

This review is just based on today's service. Usually everything is pretty good but today was off. I ordered one of their $5 Long Islands and I didn't feel a thing after drinking it. I usually get the fish and fries and it's filling and worth the money but I saw a wrap on the menu and decided to try it. It's catfish on the menu but I switched the fish to whiting. The wrap was cool but not worth the money. I couldn't even taste the remoulade sauce and I had to order extra. The food was cool but I won't order the wrap again. The main thing that ticked me off is watching people come in after me and getting their food before me and they ordered fish also.

Visited on a Saturday evening. The parking lot is spacious but was nearly full. We waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated, and once seated, it took a while for the waiter to come over and for our drinks to arrive. We ordered two drinks from the bar, which took about 20 minutes. When we followed up with the waiter, he said the bar was backed up but returned almost immediately with our drinks, suggesting they had been sitting there. Overall, the service was a 1/10, with the one point only because we were served eventually.I was excited to try the food, as the menu looked great, and I love fried chicken wings. I ordered the chicken and wings, while my fiancé got the gizzards and wings. The catfish I had was decent, but nothing was seasoned. The gizzards were overly breaded and overcooked, the fries lacked even basic salt, and the chicken still had feathers on it.The interior was cute, though I expected a more elevated atmosphere. The vibe was okay, with dimmed lights and club-style lighting, but overall, I'm not sure I'd return.

Babyyy let me tell you! This is a great spot. My husband and I walked in around 12:30 and didn't leave until after the Jack state game! The hospitality was amazing, food (CHICKEN) is what you must order and their drinks were right on point! Definitely will be frequent customers! The atmosphere was the perfect setting along with great music! Love the energy! 10/10!!! The vibe was amazing too.

Very un impressive by this establishment. We'd gone on a Saturday night about 7:30/8sish. Our server was Ray, and he served our party of 5 well. He was very accommodating, helpful and attentive. Restaurant is very open very causal, not cozy at all. Also the place was very cold, regardless of where you sit. I think it's because you can also order hookah's which I'm not typically a fan of. The good thing is you don't smell it. The chicken was ok. It can tell when the oils need to be changed but it was that end of the night so I guess that's why the fired food which is basically everything tasted like it need to be changed. The Long Island ice tea and other drink specials was definitely strong and will be the reason why I may come back. Ordered the wing and shrimp combo with a salad salad and side order of Mac and cheese. Shrimp was very well seasoned, kind of spicy. Fried were cool and Mac and cheeseWas good. They have salads but a small variety of salad dressings.

Waited over 2 hours for cold and burnt food.. will never come here again. I'm from where the original Harold's orginated from and this is unacceptable. .

I finally got to taste the infamous Harold's chicken. It was really good. Fresh and crispy. I find it best to order online for to go orders. It's pretty busy here on the weekends. The atmosphere here is like a club. I went on a weekend it was a DJ there.I really enjoyed my meal I'll be back soon!

It was a nice experience. Food takes a while to come out but it was hot and fresh. The music was a bit loud so don't think you will be able to have much conversation. The sweet potato tots were amazing. The chicken was crisp and well seasoned. The mozzarella triangles were not great, could've used more cheese stuffing.
