We live in Austin TX and visited the museum over the holidays while visiting family. While having so much fun, my 4yo daughter dropped her favorite hat somewhere in the museum. When we realized it was missing, they had already closed and would not reopen until we were already home. We called to see if it was there and they offered to mail it to us, all the way to Texas. It just arrived and my kid is very, very happy to have her hat back. This service went above and beyond, and shows what care they have for the kids and their families that visit. Thank you Hands On!

Great place with a wide variety of options for kids to practice different skills and wear themselves out a bit. Will say it kinda sucks that they charge adults the same amount for admission, I paid $10 for myself to basically stand there.

We love this place so much! First off, the price can't be beat--only $10.00 to enter. We come here every time we visit. The kids have a blast! They offer a little bit of everything, and all my kids, from the younger ones to my 10-year-old, love coming here to play, craft, and more.

Things I love about this museum: Lots for young children to doClean and tidy, thanks to the friendly staffLots of space to move around However, the new "science" addition where they talk about "race" was extremely disturbing. So much focus was on Black slaves, but nothing was mentioned about the other races that were slaves in America ie. Chinese, Irish, Slavs, Natives, etc.. Europeans really had nothing to do with the Trans Atlantic slave trade, yet reading what was displayed at this museum would have you think otherwise. There was even a photo from what looked to to be a BLM riot. It was just another Marxist display of lies to make White people feel guilty. How are you going to go into detail and say that there're no racial differences, but have a photo that says "end racism"?? Aren't we all one race? Despite everything else being wonderful, this room was honestly such a turn off and I will never return.

Our 3 year old grand daughter loved it here! We spent nearly 6 hours here and she would have been willing to stay longer. Geared more for smaller kids, I'd say 2-7 would be the ideal ages for the activities provided. She loved the stage area, fire truck, dinosaur sand area, grocery store and pneumatic tubes. It got a little busy late morning on Saturday, but cleared out after noon.

The Hands On Children's Museum is a great way to let children get out some nervous energy. There's themed areas to nuture pretend play/creativity--grocery, garden, baby n, dental office, theater, paleontological dig, art room, etc. Great for all abilities. Located on N Main St strip near shopping, restaurants, museums, etc. Plan on spending a few hours. The best time to visit is an hour before closing!

If you're local, get the membership. So worth it! We go 3-4 times a month, especially on rainy days. My little is one year old, and she has a blast. Lots of kids up to about age 6 or 7 seem to enjoy the place, too.

Cute little museum in downtown Hendersonville- excellent for kiddos 10 & under. Not huge, but currently under renovation- so it should eventually be a bit bigger. Educational and fun- my son (5 y/o) loved it and stayed busy the entire visit. Many sponsored areas by local businesses such as Drs and dentists. Easy checkin. Admission is $8 for anyone over 1. Masks required for everyone 2 and over. Attached to a coffee shop and adjacent to many restaurants, D8 brewery and shops.

There are many things to do here but I feel some more interaction areas are needed. It was sad that the art area was closed. I think some more costume/prop stuff is needed for theater, some more wheels for the brick area and maybe a gym or swings put in? I'd say we spent a good half hour doing stuff and then it got repetitive. The kids really like the supermarket and kitchen. I didn't see a lot of kids in the doctor and dentist area. They liked the building blocks a lot. Not a lot of activity in the stage area or the foam blocks. The kids checked out the dino dig and tried the microscope but the samples were scratched too much to really see. I suggest sanding/polishing down the surfaces every now and then to make them clear. They liked the vaccine tube and the water area. There's a slide that some kids were going on. I'd say overall I'm glad we went and if we go again I hope we can do some art.
