Halal Kitchen Ink

I was looking for a quick bite in the University, Palladium area. I saw a Halal Food truck parked in the Starlight Movie theater parking lot, so I decided to stop and give them a try. Pulling up in the parking lot, there is a food truck, a box truck with the Halal logo and an RV attached to another truck and several cars parked around the food truck. I'm not sure why there were so many vehicles. There were only 2 people in the food truck. Just seemed odd to me, no biggie.There are pictures of food items and drinks on the side of the food truck, but no pricing. There was 1 person ahead of me who was picking up their food to go. I was able to order right away. I ordered the Gyro Chicken sandwich and asked for the mango smoothy pictured on the side of the truck. The person taking the order said they don't have smoothies only juice. I declined and just ordered my sandwich. I was shocked because it was almost 11 dollars just for the sandwhich only. If the pricing was available to me before hand there would not have been a shock value. Maybe they can post pricing or maybe get a barcode to scan so customers can be aware of what they are paying upfront. I paid and waited for my food. They cook the food to order, which is good. I also noticed that they wore gloves while preparing the food which is a plus. I waited in the sitting area by the kitchen table in the picture. I had my back turned from the truck taking in the scenery, and saw the guy from the food truck walk past me. We made eye contact and he pointed at the counter where my food was sitting waiting. Now, lm always one for good customer service, this did not make me feel warm and fuzzy. Instead of calling me or saying ma'am your food is ready, or using his words, he pointed and kept walking towards one of the many cars parked next to the food truck. I took my food and left. I got home, and tasted the food and it was really good. They only season with salt and pepper, heavy on the pepper, but overall, it was good. The tziki sauce tasted like mayo, but it did what it was supposed to do and I was satisfied. I most likely won't go back, but recommend people try it for themselves.

I'm NEVER let down by this place. The hours are great for a college student and the workers have always been nice. I cannot emphasize enough how flavorful the sandwiches are. My boyfriend always gets the Philly (he's a Philly sandwich snob and loves it!) and I always get the chicken gyro wrap. Not only is it some of the best chicken, but the flavors are unmatched. I recommend this small business to anyone visiting the area. Especially if you want a quick, cheap meal.

Got here at 12am and service was still amazing and attentive. My sandwich was packed with a lot of stuff and had plenty of flavor. The employees were extremely nice and I was really grateful to receive such wonderful service late at night!!

The food was okay for a late night snack. They were parked outside PNC after a concert. Check you charges after visiting, my self as well as two others were fraudulently charged an extra transaction of 42.90 outside of our charges for our regular order.

The service was great and portion was plenty. It was my first experience and I would go back again.

When you pull into the parking lot of the movie theater the food truck is on far left in a separate parking lot.Food was delicious and service was quick.

So I follow Mr. Chimetime on Insta and he tried this food truck in one of his videos. He raved about it being good and I love a good halal chicken plate. I rode to Charlotte on Friday and got the chicken plate. The wait wasn't long at all and there was just 2 people's orders in front of me. I should add I have a walking boot and crutches right now too. So, the owner lets me know my food is ready while I wait in my car. Once I get out he stops me and brought my food to me. Customer service is really hard to come these days by so that was awesome to me. Got all the way back home to Columbia, sc and finally ate my food. Man the chicken plate was so good! I thought about that food the next day too and wanted to go back but didn't. On Sunday the craving won and I headed back to Charlotte to get me another chicken plate. Again awesome customer service. This time once my order was ready due to my crutches he brought the food to my car again and he remembered me from Friday lol. Once I finally got back home and ate again the food was a banger! Everybody can eat it how they want but me I get the chicken & rice w/ banana peppers, pickles and white sauce in ever bite and goodness man. I'm definitely headed back to see if my guy can do a 3 peat lol. The food & customer service is great and consistent.
