We came here for dinner in NoDa and was very pleased with our experience overall. The place was nice and moody and they sat us outside with heaters which was nice for the cold night. We had reservations for the place and I was shocked that we needed to pay for a reservation but it's very needed because otherwise it would've been a long wait time.To start, we got the hushpuppies and trout dip. The hushpuppies were nice and crispy and the butter it came with was very good! The only complaint I have about it is I wish it was sweeter and had corn in it. The trout dip was the best! It was very flavorful and crunchy with the breadcrumbs on top and the very well seasoned potato chips. It was a smaller portion but it lasted longer than I expected that it would. Both were good proportions for appetizers. For the entree, I got the chicken and waffles with two fried tenders. The waffle was smaller than expected but it was definitely filling and nice and crispy. The chicken was very tender and how they made it was very flavorful as well. The maple syrup that came with it was very rich in flavor and made the dish even better. For our side, my boyfriend and I were going to have our own mac and cheese but the waiter told us to get one due to the larger portion size which I appreciated. It definitely came in a larger size than I was expecting and was well worth the $14. It was creamy in the right ways and one of the best mac and cheeses I've ever had.

Really love the food. So yummy. I love getting the two piece fried chicken white meat and then sharing it with my little pup. Service is mostly nice, but since the only dog friendly part of this restaurant is the few seats right on the front patio (e.g. not including the enclosed glass space in the back that is not dog friendly), it's def not the most dog friendly place in Noda. I've gotten the deviled eggs, fried chicken, leafy green salad, and chicken and waffles over the years. They're all pretty tasty, except if you like traditional deviled eggs (like I do) you won't love these - even if you don't get the trout roe, they still taste really fishy for some reason, so I don't recommend them. I do love the fried chicken though (not southern styled at all, but tasty). And the salad is def yummy especially with the candied nuts. Remember to ask for the dressing on the side because otherwise they predress it. Also, getting a Prosecco was lovely. Would come here again, but probz not with my dog.

Tasty food! Came here Saturday around 8pm for a birthday dinner. There was a 20min wait for us as a party of 6, so we grabbed a few seats at the bar and started with a round there. I got the too hot to handle, which was a spicy mezcal drink. Once we moved over to our table, which was unfortunately a high top right up front by the entrance, we settled in and decided on some entrees. I tried the champagne tenders and mac and cheese. Others in the group got the classic fried chicken, onion pie, and swordfish specialty. Our server was nice and friendly, the food came out pretty fast, and we had a really pleasant meal overall. It's a fancier spot in a good location in the middle of town, and portions were very large (and good thing because it's a bit on the expensive side!). But good for a celebratory occasion.I would come back to try some other drinks and dishes. The mac and cheese was a hit, and I enjoyed the tenders - I ordered two but only ate one before feeling full!@azfitfoodfun

We were in town for a concert and needed to grab dinner before the show. The wait was 45 minutes, but there were seats at the bar so we grabbed them what a great decision. The barkeeps were personable and entertaining, and watching them prepare the different drinks kept us amused until our food arrived. We ordered the deviled egg , two kinds of chicken tenders, the brussels sprouts, the sweet potato dumplings, and the smoked chicken entrée. They were all sublime. The chicken was fork-tender, and very moist. And the dipping sauce had just the right bite. The portions were ample and we ended up with doggy bags in order to save room for the divine chocolate mousse dessert.Order the karma cocktail. It will put things right in your world.

I'm not an expert on Southern food but this felt like the real deal (packaged in modern day decor). This was definitely the best meal I had during my weekend in Charlotte/Greensboro. I didn't have a reservation and anticipated a wait because it's one of the more popular brunch spots downtown but a couple of seats opened up at the bar within half an hour during peak brunch rush. Lucky us!Our friendly server made sitting at the bar so much more fun, and recommended a slew of dishes. We ate so much and the food was so heavy that we couldn't even stomach having dinner later that evening, despite it being our last opportunity to have another meal in town before our flight home. I'm not even mad because the flavors were on point here. Also, i think i was used to NY portions and price points and did not realize how large each dish would be.We started with hush puppies, crisped to perfection and served with a delicious sweet tea butter. The piece de resistance was the Nashville Hot Chicken, served boneless and on white bread with butter pickles. It was definitely spicy and very filling. I got a side of red cabbage thinking I needed a healthy veggie side to cut all the grease from the heavy dishes but we were at a Southern restaurant and I should have known better than to expect anything light on the menu. It was covered in a heavy cream sauce and probably cooked in lard or bacon fat. I don't regret it at all. And finally, one of my favorite bites from the meal was from the sweet potato dumplings, which were basically gnocchi, served with mascarpone, parmesan, and sage. The two of us were so full we practically rolled out of the restaurant. I didn't find too many worthwhile activities in Charlotte outside of eating, but I'm glad I got to enjoy an excellent Southern meal at the likes of Haberdish.

FoodTried just about everything! Started with smoked trout stack and this was one of the more interesting things I've tried. Really enjoyed the layers of flavor but it's difficult to describe unless you've tried it. Also had the smoked chicken, fried chicken, boneless braised short rib, sweet potato dumplings, and mac & cheese. So, everything tasted sooooo good EXCEPT the fried chicken. Unfortunately, it was bland and left a lot to be desired. That smoked chicken....INCREDIBLE. smoke flavor, juicy, and the sauce was a great addition. Sweet potato dumplings are a must!!ServiceEpic! Felt like we were the only table there though it was packed. AmbianceLike that it was an inside/outside vibe. Very nice to hangout when the weather is mild outside.Overall, would definitely go back but stay away from the fried chicken.

The only reason this got 2 stars is because they were saved by their BANANA PUDDING. I highly recommend you try it, but maybe just order it as takeout & go somewhere else to eat.Haberdish was overpriced, bland food. There just simply was not flavor in almost ANYTHING we ordered. It tasted like they forgot to add spices to the food or any salt or pepper. I cannot emphasize enough how much we disliked it.The service was great and the restaurant itself has a nice elevated vibe that makes it feel like an upscale restaurant - so if you want to have a fancy date night, this would fulfill that desire. But if you want to eat good food, I'd recommend trying a different upscale restaurant.Go there first, then come back here for the BANANA PUDDING. The banana pudding gets 5-stars from me.

I had the hushpuppies, happy go lucky punch, and the 2 pc dark, fried chicken. I don't know what to say other than all were amazing. I will definitely be back. Great atmosphere and the bar tender was very personable.

Incredible meal! First time there and staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and helpful in deciding which would be best for our party. First time there and it's quickly become one our favorite restaurants in Charlotte!

Had this place on my list for sometime.Ordered deviled eggs- had an aftertaste of perhaps too much pickle juice. Server Will never gave his name when he approached table and talked way too fast especially for it being our first time there. We ordered fried chicken and mac n cheeseMac n cheese was white cheese and had no real flavor Chicken was good on inside but had no real seasonings and you can tell the batter was out on and chicken refrigerated or dat too long Dark in color so dry on the crust that didn't remain with the actual chicken breast. Think slightly overpriced for the menu items quality Example Mac was about $15 for the bowl
