Absolutely will not ever step foot in the place again. The venue looks like a run down Junkie hostel. I dealt with both bartenders and only one was pleasant. The other acted like I was an idiot for ordering a standard drink. It's very dark, only being lit by black lights. 70% of the stage is blocked off by 2 projector screens playing YouTube videos. The sound was off for all 5 artists that performed and the 2nd opening act lost power 4 times. It felt like a fever dream. This has less to do with the venue, but 2 of the openers for Jonny Craig tried to fight a table of people including a 15 year old kid.The owner doesn't respond well for poor reviews and I'm sure he will not respond well to this one. You got my $50, man, and you'll never have to worry about seeing us again.

Absolute dump. Staff is so incredibly rude. They don't take cards so either have cash or be ready to pay an ATM fee. This building looks like it's barely hanging on by a thread and the outside area is dangerously, especially for drunk people. Trip hazards everywhere, random stages outside, dog food on the tables. Also when we got there another concertgoer asked us if we were parking in front of the venue because management was calling a tow company to tow people. Seriously, on your own business? I get you can't control where the bands you enjoy play but if you can avoid this spot, do yourself a favor.

Ground Zero is a very stripped-down venue that mostly books rock, punk, and metal bands. I've been there a few times, and they get some great shows. My only complaints are that the bar is cash-only, and the indoor climate gets uncomfortably warm and humid during the summer. But overall, it's a decent place and I will probably return.

This is by far the most organized, clean, and accommodating music venue I have ever been to. I have never been to a venue who has their shit more together. The women's room was super clean with hand soap from freaking Bath and Bodyworks and goddamn bounty paper towels. They serve both beer and liquor and have super kind staff. The bartenders are totally on their game. They have mosh pit medics and the door staff is incredibly kind. Prior to the show I had concerns about being allowed to bring in a small bag with my EpiPen and inhaler so I chatted with the venue owner who confirmed I was allowed to do so. The owner even asked me where he could secure some EpiPen's to have on hand for emergencies at the venue just in case. The prices of the tickets were super reasonable and so are the prices of the drinks. Two shots only cost me seven dollars. You simply can't pay those prices at normal venues. I am completely blown away and I will happily drive the hour from Asheville any time to visit again.

I am proud to say being part of history is legendary. Gound Zero is rich in music history. Home to some of the best metal performance on this side of the upstate. Bartenders, the sound people especially the owner is what make it all possible. Come out show support for Ground Zero.

There's not much sense in maintaining the inside of a place that can get packed to capacity with lots of young people getting into the music, and usually forming pits.I've been going to GZ since forever, and I've never had a bad experience there. They're not just about metal music, they support music of all types. And yes, they are one of the few venues in the Southeast that will book a lot of the less mainstream bands. For some of their shows, you can pre-order tickets. I've always just paid at the door. And the bands that play are allowed to set up their merchandise for sale to help them get gas money to get to their next show. The people out there are like family to me. They support musicians and music lovers like nobody else around here ever has. And they have the best bar prices anywhere. Best place to get information about upcoming shows is the club's myspace page.

Rock and roll babe! The one and only venue that would support ear wrenching music in the Spartanburg/Greenville area. Unfortunately, this area isn't know as a prime spot for bands to tour to - South Carolina tends to get skipped. BUT just in case, there's GROUND ZERO for those that do want to share their music to the masses. If you want louder than usual music check out their website and go bang that head! http://www.groundzerorocks.com/

Great venue, played a show last night and it sounded amazing! We are a touring band from South Florida and Ground Zero was very accommodating. Great bar, great atmosphere and great guys running the show! 4/5 stars because of location.

It's a generic metal show venue. Looks like an old warehouse. No heat or A/C. Always very hot in there. Pretty cheap drinks. My only serious complaint with it is that they rarely have any good bands come through anymore, it's mostly just the same few crappy local bands over and over.

What a gem located in the armpit of Spartanburg! It's such a great place to get along with people and hear local rock/metal bands jam on stage. For my first night going on 7/18/2015, the band I saw, really thumped the building. All of the regulars there were very easy to get along with. I just love the hospitality of this nightclub! I will definitely be coming back here for sure!!
