Green Tea Japanese Restaurant

I placed an order to go and was very happy with the careful packaging of all the goodies and everything tasted great! The staff were very friendly when I came to pick it up. I look forward to returning!

This place is awesome!!! Have been going here since it opened. The owner, Tony is very nice and his staff also. Food is as good as it was when they opened and hopefully will stay that way. The art isn't like before, but they are so busy trying to get the orders out, they don't have time to decorate (paint with sauces or cut vegetables into butterflies, etc) the plates. Makes me sad, but the quality of the food and service is the most important. This is why I gave them the highest rating. Ohhh, they also send take home or to-go orders with a nice reusable bags that can be used for bagging groceries, etc.

LOVELY AMBIANCE AND FOOD!This place was so cute, from the outside to the inside. Service was great, our server was attentive and fast. The $20 bottle of lychee sake was so sweet and yummy! The hot sesame dumplings had the most amazing sauce on them! I could use that sauce on anything to be honest. Heck, I'd even dip my sushi in it! Sushi came out presented very well. Sushi all tastes great and the fish was fresh. I had a lovely time here and I'd definitely return for sushi cravings in Asheville. The menu was large with not only sushi, but other entrees. There's something here for everyone!

This has to be one of the best Japanese/sushi restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Extremely fresh food, generous portions and very reasonable prices are just the start. This offers an inviting, cozy and comfortable dining experience with low ceilings and low lighting features. While our server was very busy, she was very efficient and friendly. Our side salads were packed with a healthy amount of fresh romaine lettuce, slices of tomato and cucumber, with a generous coating of subtle ginger dressing. We also had edamame and fried aged tofu with tempura sauce. Both were delicious and abundant. I also had sashimi salmon and Tamago. They were fresh and generously portioned. My husband had the General Tso's chicken and vegetables with fried rice. He said it was one of the best tasting preparations he's had yet. We have our local favorites, but this surpassed them by a long stretch!I'd forgotten my phone in the car, so no photos. Dang.Note: The bathroom is well stocked and fairly clean, considering how busy the dining area was. Of course it's usually a good sign when there are several awards and photos of the chef and various celebrities on the wall as you enter. You MUST try this place!

Excellent spot with something for everyone. My oldest son had to pull my 80 yr old Dad in to try some sushi. He opted for the Fried rice with chicken & shrimp. It was a massive meal but was really basic. The shrimp were big & plump - could have had a few more. The sushi was good. Maybe it was the group I as with but it was fairly standard. Don't overlook the Bento boxes & the sashimi. A staple when in Asheville. Can always get good Asian fare & really great beer prices!

Always a favorite of mine. Love this place it's been around for a long time. The staff is great and the atmosphere is great.

Had tickets to one of the candlelight shows downtown & decided to treat ourselves with our Girls Night. They were packed & it was on the weekend. The server was pleasant & apologetic. Being worth the wait---I had sashimi & sushi; my partner in crime had Pad Thai. It was pretty and delicious. If you get a chance - GO! GO! Did I say GO?

Been there for almost 10 times. Pro:1. Cheap sushiCon:1. Creasy floor2. Waiter service/attitude is below average3. Sushi rice is too hard4. The chefs are Chinese, and the authenticity is not real Japanese.

Three of us had perfect meals, drinks and an appetizer. The sake and mixed drink menus were great, and the food menu was more Japanese than I knew what to do with and I still found multiple items to choose from. Service and vibe inside were good, too.
