Under normal, non-pandemic circumstances, the food is okay.I can't say for sure at the moment because when I went to pick up a take-out order, none of the employees were wearing masks or gloves. Not the cashier, not the people in the kitchen, not one person. No thanks.

Can we just say CUSTOMER SERVICE??? I mean all the way. They really went above and beyond with our order and the food was great. Did you know they deliver? (At least if you live near downtown). Any place that offers customer service like that, I will continually support. Great job! We will definitely be repeating customers.

Always fresh and very tasteful. When I'm in town I make sure I take Great China with me back to Charlotte!

I lived and worked in China so I am especially fussy about the "real" Chinese food. Well, you won't find it in most of the USA so I look for something closer to real. The shrimp foo young was good but they made the mistake most not professionally trained chefs make - they forgot to salt the raw product before cooking and relied on the sauces to be salty enough. I've been one time but this is the best so far in this town so Ill be back.

We're all too familiar with those tiny Chinese take-out spots squished between a Hobby Lobby and some random business providing tax services. They're the generically named ones (say, "China Food" or "Great Wall") who aren't as lucky as their competitors positioned at a high-end shopping center or amongst fellow restaurants on a dedicated food row. We're also too familiar with the angst associated with such spots -- "Wonder if their meat's well cooked..." "Bet it's way too greasy..." "Hope this place ain't rank!" "What the f#*k's their health score?!"With that said, I can list a hefty handful of such restaurants who simply Knock It Out Of The Park with amazingly cooked food. All the same, I can list places who've no clue the mediocrity of their food that they make their counterpoint joints in mall food courts appear as Beacons of American-Chinese Food Hope.In my honest opinion, either Great China's biggest fans aren't well exposed to far better Chinese take-out or have settled for this place as "Best in the Area". No matter, it's sad because the food offered here blatantly sucks. The soups have absolutely no taste. (GC tries to disguise/remedy this by including tons of ingredients, but nothing's executed correctly.) Both their white rice and pork fried rice taste as if they were laundry that'd spoiled sitting in the washer... if that makes any sense. And entrées are all lacking anything that substantiates them into quality dishes. (My "triple delight" of beef, chicken & shrimp w/ broccoli, bamboo shoot, carrot, onion & water chesnut in dark brown sauce was -- without exaggeration -- the worst rendition of this common plate I've ever come across.)The only great thing about Great China is the friendly American frontwoman who's great at softening the blow of the tasteless food you'll soon be consuming unless you Get The Hint and walk out before it's too late.Rating specifics (i.e. 1-5, low-high)...- Overall recommendation = 1.5- Food taste and quality = 0.5- Portion size = 3- Price = 3.5- Atmosphere = 0.5- General service = 1.5- Waitstaff = 0- Location = 2

This was my second visit to Great China. The scallion chicken and pork fried rice was wonderful and the staff were friendly and professional. The restaurant was very clean and I will return to try other items on the menu.

Just ordered food from here, some of the food is ok. I advise to wash or use your own silverware because I just saw her drop a fork on the floor and put that same fork in the customers bag. Did not throw it away nor did she wash it.. That is pure NASTY!!!!!!!!, Especially when you are running a restaurant. What else are they capable of doing behind customers backs when you are not there to see how your food is prepared. I could not enjoy my food after that, and I saw them cook it. Just what they are doing to their customers. I'm just saying. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THIS RESTAURANT if you are going to eat there

I can't give the food here a good review. It was just bland. I had the chicken and broccoli (which I get at every Chinese restaurant as a litmus test). It failed the test. NO FLAVOR, the broccoli was undercooked, and the chicken was mushy. That's not all. They have tables inside for eating (the meals which are all packaged to go). They don't have a trash can in the dining area which I can't understand. The only reason I can't give this place a 1 star, is because the people that work here were very pleasant, the dining area was clean, and the food came out fast. Other than that, it wasn't for me.
