Great Aunt Stella Center

Concert by Candlelight hosted by FeverTonight's focus was Lauryn HillWhat a beautiful experience!! Its perfect for a date night, girls night out or even a solo date as a music lover. The Charlotte Orchestra dedicated the night to a specified Playlist of some of our favorite artists surrounded by flameless candles. The concert lasts for about an hour. No photography, videography, clapping, dancing or loud singing is allowed during the performance (fullly understandable). But, you are allowed to take pics/video b4 the performance and on the last song.Get to the venue early for parking and preferred seating based on your ticket purchase since the seats are in pews (it and old church).I'd recommend for sure !!

It has been years since I last visited Great Aunt Stella Center. The venue is unique for jazz music. The sound quality was really great. We elected to sit in the balcony since the seating in the lower level did not quite provide great viewing of performers. The balcony seating was great. You could see the performances and hear very well from there. Parking was also very convenient since there is a governmental parking deck that is available within less than 1/2 block. I hope there are other opportunities for concerts there at the Center.

I attended the Krishna Das kirtan at the Great Aunt Stella Center this past summer, and it was my first experience with this beautiful venue. The architecture is gorgeous, and it was a perfect setting for Krishna Das and his coterie of musicians. It's something between a church and a cultural center, and it's worth checking out if you ever have the chance to see a show there...even if the show kind of sucks, the venue itself is an experience. There's beautiful stained glass, hard wood floors, and vaulted ceilings. I'd love to attend a wedding there!
