Gourmet Soul

I decided to try this place one day because I was wanted some home cooked food. I saw this place on the Rock Hill Eats Facebook page and it was getting talked about a lot on there so I decided to try and find it. They had so many different opinions of southern food items on the menu. Sundays definitely looks like a good day to go because they have more meat options in my opinion. I ended up getting the fired chicken wings with Mac n cheese and fried okra. Probably one of the best decisions I made that day. I should have just sat in and ate because the car ride home was torture. Everything smelled so good! I devoured the whole plate when I got home and didn't feel guilty about it. This is probably the best southern food in Rock Hill!

This place is a real treat. Went to another restaurant in the area that sold similar food but I was not pleased. This place definitely made up for that. I ordered the fried chicken, fried croaker, rice and gravy, mac and cheeses, greens, and yams. Each item was sold separately but the cost was not bad. My son has asked to go back because he really enjoyed the food. That almost never happens! Overall this place was banging! I did not see a desert menu though. I can help them out with that if they are looking for some. Try this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Gourmet Soul has the BEST mac-n-cheese around! First time trying the chicken and it was fried to perfection and seasoned well.

We got a few trys of food today for a birthday. OMMMMMMMGGGGG every single thing was delicious! If you are looking for some delicious soul food, Gourmet Soul is a must try!

Maybe we ordered the wrong items but I was not impressed with all the food. Dressing was salty and had no onion or celery in it visually or to taste. The fried wings were not crispy, the cabbage was overcooked and had no flavor, the rice was instant and the fried fish was blah. Prices are good however they forgot my cornbread which is priced á la carte along with everything else on the Sunday menu.

Well let me tell y'all something. I'm a country boy from South Georgia that moved up here in 2008. Never could find any meals I was use to around here. Then I found La'wan's soul food up in Charlotte. It was good but just to far to travel for me. Then came Taylor's soul food to Rock Hill and blew me at with their Chitterlins, but now no more chitterlins due to covid so I got the croaker last time I went. Good yeah, but let me tell you something,. You want some great fish and a lot of it for the price, then y'all go right here to Gourmet Soul food in right here in Rock Hill. Man that will make you go home and slap your mama! I don't know why I have found y'all before now! Great job cooks and to the lady behind the counter, keep the smiles going and keep that music playing! Everything was lip smacking good and I will be back for them gator bites!

I was searching for some local fried chicken places and this looked like an interesting spot so I dropped in to give them a try. I wound up not getting the chicken because they had fried ribs on the menu so I had to find out what that was about. It was a good learning experience. Great taste and a different way to serve ribs. The folks were nice and the food was good but it is not fast food so either call in, dine in or be prepared to wait a minute for what was good food.

I've been a fan of this place since they've opened their doors for business! I've tried the fried ribs, fried chicken and jerk chicken and rice!! Mac and cheese and collard greens are great as well!! Whenever they do have banana pudding you MUST try it. I've loved everything I've ever tried out here. Customer service is good and they're always helpful and nice. Definitely try them out you won't be disappointed

Amazing local soul food! Ordered take out for the 4th time and the quality is superb. Great flavors and extremely economical! See photos for today's order that only cost $22! This is our new Sunday lunch tradition. Their new location allows families to eat inside now, but their take out is just as delicious!

Cook is rude. Said they had fried ribs before I paid, 5 mins after I paid he said they didn't have it and had a problem with me getting a refund, and wanted me to pick something else. I declined and the nice lady at the register gave me my refund. It was an inaccurate amount but it was close enough so I didn't say anything. Got back to the hotel and the gravy was cold, the rice tasted old, no flavor, mac n cheese was cold with no flavor, fried chicken was under cooked. Threw the rest of the food in the trash. Wouldn't return and I let the rest of the team I traveled with to take it off their list of places to try out.
