The restaurant reopened yesterday, Dec 22, 2023, under the new name Golden 168. I came today, at 11:30 am, surprisingly found many people, hope the new owners will be successful. The food was decent, obviously one cannot judge by the first few days. They did not even had tea yet! I liked the teriyaki chicken and chicken wings.

It's decent. Seating is ok. Service could be a bit better at times. Ambiance is warming and welcoming. Definitely could use some up to date renovation. Food is fair. Wish they had a few more options. Not always the freshest but when it is it's pretty decent. So basically when you go and it's steady wish customers you know the food will be fresher on the buffet. Desserts, pass. The cakes they have sitting out is usually always dry and there's not many selections. I don't the the sanitation score is the greatest also but hopefully that's improved. Tip your waitress or waiter because they do not pay them very good. I felt this needed to be added in the review.

I was here back in January of 2015 and just realized I did a review on another site and not here . So here is the review I did back then . Chinese Buffet OKI went here during my visit with my son , my sister , and my niece . It is a good sized buffet , but the food is a little bland to ok . It is the only Chinese restaurant in town from what my sister told me . Laurinburg is a small town . I live in Las Vegas , Nevada so we have a ton of Chinese restaurants and other Asian selections . It was definately filling and had lots of selection . The service was ok , could have been a little better since it wasn't very busy . The lady at the register wasn't very friendly either . Anyway , if you are looking for a Chinese buffet that will fill you up and satisfy you then I would recommend going here .

Wow........the service was TERRIBLE. The woman running the main area with short, orangish hair did not greet us at all. When we walked in she looked up, said nothing, and continued wrapping silverware in paper napkins. Eventually she rolled her eyes and waved her hand for us to enter from the lobby. Then she just motioned to the tables which we eventually took as a sign to sit or go to the buffet or ...we actually don't even know tbh. Never once said "hello" or smiled or made any type of welcoming gesture of any kind. It was buffet-style. After we had gotten up for seconds, despite her being nearby, she did not clear our plate. Not a huge deal but she acted like bringing us our drinks, and also taking our drink order itself was a major inconvenience. Did I mention the drinks were soda cans? Hope she didn't strain herself. When we went to the register to pay, she took her time meeting us there only to go about halfway and reach over with the check and slide it across the counter and shove it at my husband and say "here" and walk off. She didn't hand it to him, didn't say "someone will ring you out in a moment", nothing. I understand there can sometimes be a language barrier but kindness and smiling is universal and it costs nothing. This woman was going out of her way to be a unpleasant b*tch and if you don't want to spend money to be treated like trash, I'd suggest you eat someplace else.

We stopped here on our way back to Wilmington. We searched Chinese buffets and this restaurant popped up. The inside dining room area was very clean and the waitress was continually cleaning up the area, sweeping, clearing, refilling drinks, etc.The food is typical of an all-you-can-eat buffet. There is a large selection, but much of it is deep fried. The vegetables were good, the dessert buffet was nearly empty, and there were 3 total tables aside from ours while we were there.I'm rating it as a 4 because the service was great with the waitress lady we had and the food was typical of a Chinese buffet.Nothing stands out about the place but if you're looking for a cheap all-you-can-eat then...It was $21 for the two of us.

The ABSOLUTE WORST Chinese Buffet we've EVER had!! Food was undercooked. Other foods left a nasty taste in your mouth. The only good thing was the waitress.

The food was edible. All meat flavors were similar and too sweet. I don't think I would eat here again.

I agree that it's the best Chinese food in the area. I typically get their orange chicken to-go which comes in a big enough portion for 3 days and also have had the buffet a few times when friends come to visit.

First time here. New to area and have Chinese at least weekly. I ordered Takeout sesame chicken. Lots of heavy breading on chicken pieces and the chicken inside extremely dry. Yuck. Ate leftovers the next day and heated up into a pile of mushy breading. Double yuck. The fried rice was DRY. Second day added some liquid and was just plain dry rice. Did not have many vegetables for taste or color. Talk about making cheap food. Very, very disappointed and it is in a convenient location for me. Try any place but this.
