I'll be honest- the first time we went here about a year ago, we didn't love this place. We love Germany and I've spent quite a bit of time there. We just went today and the improvements are substantial. We've received excellent customer service. Friendly, helpful. The curry wurst langos was such a fun take on a Berlin staple. It was delicious! We enjoyed the "Smoked on Dewitt", a Radler, and an Eisbock. All of them were excellent. This place has gone from a place we didn't love to a place we will certainly come back.

My friend and I stopped by Glide Brewery on Thursday to celebrate my birthday. For a Thursday evening, it was pretty empty inside at least on the dinner side of the brewery. They have lots of seating options, both inside and out.Once seated, our waiter was super friendly, personable, and attentive. Other staff members were also helpful Ed and did regular check-ins.Now on to food and drinks, I ordered the Glide 1546, which is fruity cocktail. It was really good and sweet just as I like. They also made it into a mocktail version for my friend, which was just as good! So if you're not much of a drinker, definitely try it. For food, I ordered the chicken schnitzel with fries. It was good. Only complaint I had was that it was a little dry and a bit bland. My friended ordered the knackwurst. Hers was really good and juicy! If you're coming with a larger group or just enjoy playing games, they have lots of board and card games near the entrance for you to grab and play at your table.

There's a lot of breweries in charlotte, we know that. But the Gilde brewery was a vibe!I lived in Lower South End, super close to this location and it was pretty cool. The tall ceilings, visible brewery looking machines and stuff made it to be a pretty cool spot to hang out and eat in.I went alone, but if you went with a group of friends, it could be a cool place to catch up, grab some food, watch some sports & they even had board games/card games you can grab. The food wasn't super memorable which is why it got lower stars from me, but it could have been what I got - I'm sure if you're into like sausages and stuff, this place would be great for you.Service was great, vibe was great - food was alright. Do with that what you will.

This is the most authentic German food I have had in Charlotte (my grandmother is from Germany and I lived in Munich for a year). The service is absolutely amazing! The manager helps out with everything and is so accommodating! The atmosphere is great because they have sports playing all the time and they have games like beer stein shuffleboard where you can win free beer!! They have board games too for you to take to the table. I highly recommend the weisswurst (I have not found this anywhere in Charlotte and it's my favorite!). Their sauerkraut is amazing and the soups are amazing. If you like traditional German lagers get the Gilde Pilsner, it's phenomenal and reminds me of hofbräuhaus beer from Munich.

Sunday afternoon as I am doing the family food shop, it was time for a frosty adult beverage. I opted to sit at one of the hightops in the bar area where I set up my laptop and wrote out a review or two while I waited and waited and waited for a server or the bartender to come by.After 20 minutes, I finally popped up the bar and orders a Pilsner. Cold, refreshing and crisp. It almost made up for the wait. They have a really nice German-style menu here. I will need to return and bring some patience. Maybe in the tables area it's more attentive?[Review 1157 of 2024 - 3648 in North Carolina - 22180 overall]

Service was great, not crowded when we went, and server was still very much on point. Ambiance was very cool, very nice German beer hall. Food was excellent. Wife had the Currywurst, excellent. Mine was the Weisswurst, great, the pretzel with it was top notch also. Kid had the Rueben (made with bratwurst) she loved it. German potato salad very good also. We will be back. The ladies had cocktails. I had a flight followed by the IPA, all beer, classic German taste, awesome!

Excellent find for a frequent traveler! Was going to coffee shop to finish some admin and across the street is this gem! Why not there and a cold beer...exactly! Place is amazing, as well as the people and food. If I was local, would be there more often for sure to watch games. Probst to Corey, Dion, Max & Mike for taking care of me...and they will for you too!

2 years ago, there was a lot going on in the area, you had the Lexington BBQ fest, the state fair, and numerous other festivals as well- including the Oktoberfest celebration @ Gilde. We decided that going to Gilde should definitely be on the list- and so glad we went! Getting there- if you aren't one of the thousands of people who live within a few blocks of the place, they have a light rail station a few blocks away, or you can fight street parking as well (which is a whole lot worse now given the construction going on).The Oktoberfest, we got really lucky and was able to get a table before the nightly party that was to follow. They had a special menu, and day time festivities. I ended up getting a few liters and a pork shank, that was the size of Alaska. The food, the beer, the atmosphere, and the service, made we wish this was a year long celebration. As time went on, my sister went to special dinner there that a local sheep farm was hosting, and she said it was great. But, we weren't really sure if the food stuff still went on during the day. Decided to go again yesterday for a quick mid day cleanse, and decided to get a few pints (I almost got sideswiped by some jackal on 85 so I felt a drink was needed after that NDE- and don't worry sober sis drove back) to wear off the nerve. It was nice to see they were open for lunch, and I was shocked to not see more people there. The indoor is large, and has a nice size food menu. If you don't like beer, they do have a cocktail and wine menu as well. I decided to get a wurst flight this time, and sis got a schnitzel. I laughed when they brought the food out, to see how big her plate was. She enjoyed it thoroughly, and my flight was wonderful and filling as well. The server was very friendly as well.I would like to point out they do have pints you can bring home with you along with other merch. It looks awesome but I don't think any of it fits me. They also do have board games and such you can bring to the table with you if you fancy that. I am really jealous that Gilde branched out to Charlotte and opened a sister brewery there (as they are originally from Hannover, DE) so if you haven't yet, I highly recommend you pay a visit! Prost!

Glad I finally tried this brewery! It has a huge indoor space and front patio that was partially covered. Inside has a mix of booths, long beer hall style tables, individual tables, and lounge style seating. We got flights to try some of the different beers, all were really delicious. We also tried the pretzel and cheese "dip" the buffalo wings which were really good, and the smoked sausage with German potato salad which looked good. Some of the food pictures on yelp look outdated, for example the potato wedges are French fries. I will definitely be returning for more food and beers!
