Geno D's Pizza

I came to Geno D's to try this pizza everyone's been raving about on Yelp. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Not only did they honor my Yelp coupon for free garlic knots but the pizza was fresh, hot and delicious. I actually tried the eggplant parm pizza which I found to be super unique and well executed. The eggplant was not overwhelming or soggy at all (which eggplant can be sometimes depending how you prepare it). I came with my dog and sat outside to enjoy my pizza. I couldn't finish the whole thing and ended up having some leftover for lunch the next day - so good value for the price. The owner is super sweet and took the time to tell me about her family owned business. This place is an excellent option if you're looking for delicious fresh pizza, not something frozen or premade.

Was in Charlotte for the weekend ..here are my thoughts : I had read a lot of great reviews but didn't feel they were warranted ..here's why...I had a sausage 10" , the wife had cheese ..both tasted fresh ..corn meal on undercarriage is a good thing ..sausage was good ..but pizza kinda sloppy ..also they were chewy , not crispy like we like ...and just not overwhelming or memorable ...which I expected from the reviews ..

1. Meat Pizza - Topped with a generous amount of Pepperoni, sausage, bacon, ham, and meatballs. The crust is soft to chew. A carnivore's delight. The only negative thing I will say....more sauce is needed. #GratuityAdded2. Found this fun little spot in the middle of the Market at 7th Street. The staff was mixed - some were polite and welcoming, some not so much. The salad was huge and filled with fresh ingredients. When we ordered the salad without cheese we were asked if it was for a preference or an allergy. This gave us confidence that the dairy allergy would be taken seriously. When we received our order, the employee at the pick-up window confirmed that it was dairy free. The pizza was a good portion as well. The crust was light, crisp and flaky, not soggy as is the case many other places. Although we did not order it, they do have gluten-free crust and vegan cheese options on their menu.

Went here with my boyfriend this weekend and we really enjoyed it. The crust on the Old School Grandma pie had such unique texture. The hot honey pizza was good but to be honest I have had better... although not in Charlotte. There was a bar just across from the pizza spot with lots of great beer on tap. (Resident Culture I think) The food hall has a totally laid back vibe and is a great spot if you can't agree on a spot. We would go back if we were in the area again.

Expecting sit down restaurant I was surprised when we showed up to find a food hall. After getting an uber here we thought heck the reviews are good why not!We had a meat pizza and a cheese grandma pizza. Both were really good. Staff was just ok. Not exceptionally friendly but not outright rude.

Thin crust and sauce galore! The small is a perfect serving size for two people. We got our pizza fast and everyone was very friendly. The market is always fun to be in. Lots of seating.

My husband and son had lunch here while I ate from another spot in 7th street market. I did sample...I actually ate half...of the garlic knots...best I have ever had. They were stretchy doughy with crispy outside! They had pizza that my son loved. The pepperoni was crisp which is always a plus! Then my husband got me some cannoli. They were perfectly crisp shells with a delicious filling. All served quick and love eating at the community tables in the food hall.

The food is delicious! Next time you go to 7th street market be sure to stop her and get not only the pizza, but also the cinnamon knots, they are the best!!! Perfect addition to the calzone. Everything was cooked perfectly. The staff was so friendly and helpful checking on me and even bringing me the food when they realized I was full with a baby. So impressed with this place and the staff! There is plenty of seating area with large tables at the market that are constantly being cleaned.

Went to The Market on 7th Street in Charlotte yesterday for a mini-date with my husband.I immediately told my husband I wanted pizza from Geno D's because I've had it before, and it's so good. Just the smell made my mouth water. Hudson helped me with my order. He was efficient and very polite. He asked me if I'm from Puerto Rico and we had some small talk while I waited. (Or let's just say my old self kept talking to him. )I had the pleasure of meeting Gina, the owner, and, man, she's as cool as can be. We chatted briefly about New Jersey since I'm a native Jersey girl myself. I think it's so awesome that it's family-owned and that they use such great ingredients. There's something about that sauce! When I tell you I love a good pizza, the sauce makes the pie. They have this down pat..Gina was so cool to tell me that if we check into Geno D's on Yelp, you get free garlic knots. I was locked and loaded!! The garlic knots with the sauce OMG!!It is very busy, and they keep up well with the hustle and bustle of Charlotte customers' demands.It is a very busy eatery, so make sure you are prepared to be in an area with many people.I can't wait to come back because I know that you can't always find great pizza, but Geno D's is it!!!!!What do the kids say now?
