It's been about 3 years since my last review, time for an update.I just down't get to TonyTown that much lately but was in the area for a family gathering.I had to stop in on a Saturday morning to see what was going on.Not that much really as it's early in the growing season.I did however stop by the tent with the 'Master Gardner' advice sign. I asked about separating a Dianthus plant in a pot and got some good guidance and it was all 'free'!Thank you Ladies!

We love this place! Not a large farmer's market, but we have never walked out empty-handed. You can find a nice variety of vegetables and fruits, grown locally by friendly farmers, but also preserves, natural soaps, meats, flowers, and even jewelry! Prices are reasonable, so there is every reason to eat fresh and healthy! One more note: The flower farmer has some beautiful sunflowers this time of year Enjoy!

Come one, come all. Bring Mom and Pop, the kids and the dog. Oh, forget the dog they don't allow pets. Good news! This has become a GUN FREE ZONE. So this makes it really, really safe for everyone, because everyone knows that there will be no guns there. Concealed carry permit holders will not go there and criminals would not dare bring a weapon there! So feel great and attend. I feel bad for the farmers. I used to go there 2 or 3 times a week to get great produce. Now I can't go. You see I have a Concealed Carry Permit. Some body has decided that the Market should be a "Gun Free Zone"! This makes the market a unsafe place to go to or subject my family to. One common thread to all the recent attacks across our nation, is that they occur in "Gun Free Zones". Sad that the Farmer's Market has gone political!

Very disappointed. Good that the vendors are pound of bring to sell "home grown" products. But the variety is extremely limited. One selling only potatoes and yams or sweet potatoes. Another had green onions or sweet onions on her able. They don't need to convince me the freshness of merchandise. But you'll definitely have to go to a grocery store to complete the grocery list. I had high hopes for this place. A waste of time. Visited in the morning on a Saturday.

I hate that this wonderful, truly local farmers market's rating is being dragged down by a couple of idiots who insist judging it by standards that are more appropriate for a shooting range and supermarket produce section. If you go in April, there will be limited selection as everything must be locally grown - no South American or even Florida produce allowed. And, I'm not anti-2nd amendment, but your produce isn't going to be less fresh and tasty if you aren't allowed to bring a gun with you to buy it. It's not like you have to shoot the tomatoes.Early selections include sweet potatoes, lettuce, herbs, hydroponic or green house tomatoes, jams, pickles, meat, eggs, breads, and beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers. You can also get the plants to start your own garden. Then as the season progresses more fruits and veggies become available and then sadly taper off. A poor growing season may mean that a favorite is missing (I haven't noticed any apples for the past couple of years and there weren't spring carrots last year). However, you will get knowledgeable, friendly vendors, good prices, and excellent quality for what is available. You may need to be there early to get some popular items when they first become available (e.g., blackberries, peaches, and the raspberries that I've only managed to catch once).

Of course, April is too early to find any real selection. Mostly potatoes and cabbage in the spring. In May they sell vegetable and flower plants. It is best to go during the summer season for most items such as tomatoes, corn, peppers, squash, etc. On Saturday you may find local meat and eggs. Other vendors offer cut flowers, bakery items and crafts.
