Game Day Bbq

The BBQ smoke smell when you walk in sets the table....large portions, great food and don't get me started on the Oreo Banana Pudding....fantastic. This place has certainly improved since my last visit several years ago. Only thing missing is draft beer.

Fantastic BBQ. Not a bad thing to say about a single menu item. Authentic BBQ with big bold flavors. The sides are just as good as the main dishes. A ton of food for a reasonable price. Hope to go back!

I ordered the Grand Slam Platter and instantly knew I made the right choice. The brisket was great, no sauce needed. The sausage was delicious, pulled pork was juicy and full of flavor. I got the back beans, sweet potato crunch and the pork cracklings on the side. The place was very clean and the service was amazing.

Good bbq restaurant with some great options and a few not so great. The good: the pulled pork was moist and flavorful, the bbq sauces were good, they had some creative but delicious plates like the Cuba, and the Augusta bride. The baked beans were on par with some of the best I've ever had. The Bad: the potato salad was fairly plain the brisket was partially burnt. The ugly: the Mac n cheese. Seriously, it reminded me of "gasp" the crappy macaroni that I swore off of when I moved from the northeast and discovered real (southern) Mac n cheese. Come on bbq restaurant in the south. You can do better than that! The service was great and after some initial issues with the website, the staff worked to make things better. The atmosphere was definitely sports and there were a couple of TVs to enjoy sports on while you eat. Overall, four stars, cause while there were definitely some great options I just can't justify a 5 star review of a bbq restaurant that had macaroni on par with ponderosa.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars! I'm from Missouri and we are BBQ snobs and we ALMOST didn't stop her for dinner because we thought we wouldn't be able to find a good BBQ joint in South Carolina. Boy am I glad we took a chance! It was excellent! The brisket, hush puppies, collard greens, and fried okra were my favorites! This is some of the best BBQ (and sides!) I've ever had. The staff were so friendly and service was fast. If I lived here, I'd eat here everyday!

Everything was excellent, staff was very friendly and the food was outstanding! This place deserves a line out the door until the meat runs out. Stopped here for dinner on a trip through town with my family, had a combo platter with brisket, pulled pork, smoked wings, and sausage. All were delicious, but the highlight was the pork belly burnt ends: pure meat candy! Good variety of tasty sides (we got onion rings, sweet potato casserole, and fried okra) and homemade sauces (sweet, mustard, and spicy plus a special small batch variety). Can't wait to stop again on our return trip through town!

This is was the most unexpected treasure. The food was amazing and the owner was so nice. We brought our team here after a tournament at Tyger River. Everything was homemade and the brisket was unreal! We will for sure visit here again when in town.

Gameday barbecue used to have the best prime Rio. I'm not sure if the new owners are going to be doing that but I will if they do they will have a customer forever.

Had the brisket, flavor was great, the sweet potato crunch was amazing! The "hot" BBQ sauce was just right. Even the pickled onions and pickles on the side were delicious.

One of the best BBQ places in the state. Exceptional service that goes above and beyond.
