Went exploring downtown and wanted a drink so we stopped in. Who doesn't love an Irish pub? This one is drinks only but they have all the standards and service is quick and friendly. No food but there are food options close by. It's also a little small so don't bring your family reunion. Perfect for grabbing drinks with a group of friends though.

Cute neighborhood bar with some decent beers and a large selection of whiskey. The Gaelic Alley is small but inviting, and the bartender was friendly. They don't have food, but they allow you to bring in food from the places nearby. They have some outdoor seating in a small area by the front door.

Excellent ambiance. Don't miss the upstairs areas. Good staff and walking distance to good eateries and shops. Only feedback, and it's minor, maybe turn the music down slightly; it made conversation difficult.

This pub was very authentic to Ireland pubs. Comfortable bar stools and very quaint. The bartender was friendly and the bourbon selection was great! The downfall is no food. Yes, there are food places around but eating out of a styrofoam dish isn't my idea of a lovely dinner. I was really looking forward to Irish stew or bangers and mash. Pick up food before going so you can enjoy hanging out here.

They targeted me for no reason for just hanging out in the bar. Speaking clearly and fine, hanging out with my friend. Then, got escorted out of the bar. Absolute insanity. It's ran by terrible bartenders and management. Avoid this bar at all costs.

It's been on my list to come to the Gaelic Alley Irish Pub for a while, and I was finally able to swing by yesterday on a Friday evening. First of all, what the space itself 'lacks' in size, it more than makes up for in character, charm, and historical significance. They have a cool tiny porch/patio space with a flat-screen TV for anyone looking to enjoy their drinks while getting some fresh air. They also have a 2nd story with roof access that'll give you some fresh air too! The servers and bartenders couldn't be any nicer or more welcoming, and they're fully committed to showering customers with an authentic 'Gaelic Alley Irish Pub' experience. For a Friday night the crowd was fun, lively, and in good spirits (the juke box was ROCKING). The exposed brick, dark wood, stained glass accent/decor really puts this place over the top and makes me feel like I could just as easily be at a pub in Dublin, if I didn't know any better. This is such a great addition to the rapidly growing downtown Kannapolis, and I look forward to coming back. I only docked them a star based on the price of drinks--a 20 oz pour of Guinness (at the time of this writing) was $8.50, and the menu cocktails were in the neighborhood of $15. To be fair, they have more economical alternatives (I think 16 oz aluminum bud lights were $4, which is actually quite economical, but it just didn't feel right to drink anything other than a Guinness in that setting lol). Regardless, I'll happily be back!

Good: Location and ascetic Bad: Prices don't match quality and wait timeUgly: No in-house kitchen had to get food from food truck in the rain. The business attracts a crowd that is territorial and too old to be so sloppy.

I was looking forward to visiting Gaelic Alley in Cornelius as I had heard some good reviews from friends but I was less than impressed. The pub itself has a great Old Irish pub feel, lots of good seating; inside and out put the bartending staff left a lot to be desired. They were more concerned with their phones, not making eye contact with customers, and talking amongst each other than refilling our drinks. When I first sat down I asked for a pint of Kilkenny and was told the keg just tapped out so I had a Smithwick's which was fine. As I sat at the bar watching the bar staff have their own conversations, I overheard one tell the barback to go change the Kilkenny keg. A waited a bit, empty pint glass sitting in front of me, so a good bartender would have offered me one once it was changed. Nope. We also had our empty pint glasses glaring at the preoccupied bartenders sitting on the bar for at least a full ten minutes. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't busy and the bartenders were hanging out right in front of us, making a few other cocktails and checking their phones. I finally asked for a refill, finished that quickly and left. Not sure I would make the drive to Cornelius again for this pub.
