We've had Fourth Street in our bookmarks for a long time. We searched for a place to eat on Sunday morning and realized Fourth Street is open on Sundays. We arrived shortly after 10am and immediately loved the neighborhood and exterior look and feel of the restaurant. The courtyard with the brick surround looks like a great place to have a meal or enjoy drinks. We walked through the courtyard and stepped inside. We spoke with the bartender and hostess. The hostess asked us whether we would like to sit inside or outside, and once we confirmed they have heaters in their outdoor area, we decided to sit outside. We were taken to a small table and provided menus. Our server stopped in and took our drink orders. She was friendly and welcoming. We told her it was our first time in, and she was helpful in making recommendations from the menu.We perused the brunch menu and decided on our orders. My wife chose the Filling Station Salad (goat cheese, strawberries, blueberries, onion, candied pecans, and mandarin oranges), she opted to have the mandarin oranges on the side. She decided on grilled chicken for the protein and fat free raspberry dressing. I chose the Western Omelette (sausage, peppers, onions, and pepperjack cheese), along with homefries and grits. We enjoyed talking and sitting in the heated patio area, and my wife reported the restrooms were clean and well supplied. Two complimentary small blueberry muffins with butter were provided first. They were a little warm and delicious. Our orders arrived a short while later and looked really delicious! My wife enjoyed her salad and said it hit the spot. I felt my breakfast was bland and just not very flavorful. The potatoes were the star for me, scallop style with a little spice and delicious dipped in ketchup. I added pepper to most of my meal for a little more taste and took home half of my omelet for my wife. I left most of the grits. The grits appeared to be a cheesy type because of the color. These grits were also of the thicker variety. In my opinion, they just did not have much flavorSince my wife really enjoyed her meal, but I did not, this gets a four star review. Fourth Street will be one of those restaurants that we go to when it's my wife's pick but I would also be open to trying again when it is not brunch and I can order from their regular menu.

The fourth Street filling station has been a staple of Winston-Salem for the past several years. The food is always delicious and the service is stellar. I get the salmon as my entrée with steamed mixed vegetables. They are a little pricey for dinner, but it's well worth it. The ambience is also pretty good as well. I like sitting outside out front on summer nights to enjoy the vibe.

Spend a day in Winston and I'm glad I found this place!!The server was quick and very knowledgeable of the menu and gave me a lot of recommendations. The menu had a lot of items I wanted to try, but decided to do the steak special! It was humongous and was able to feed two! The outdoor seating was spacious and was very comfortable with all the shade! So if ya in the area, stop by and give it a try!!!!!!

This was a lovely place for my friend and I to grab brunch! Our server was sweet, a little absent minded but sweet. The fruit was very fresh and the French toast was indulgent and cooked perfectly. My little one enjoyed his breakfast, once he woke up. Hats off to the restaurant because the kids breakfast was served on a tray without the food touching and while my little one doesn't have an issue with that, some children do. My only gripe, and it caused a knock off in one star, is that you have to start telling people that the breakfast potatoes are spicy! Now I am not spice adverse but I have people in my family who are spice adverse or truly cannot eat spicy things because of health/stomach issues. Give them a go for a pretty decent brunch!

I brought my mom here for lunch and she absolutely loved the food! I have to say the food here is good quality and reasonably priced and with some very filling portions. I will say we waited about 20 minutes before they even asked for our drinks, but our server apologized for the situation and still tried his best to give us the best experience and he even comp'd our drinks for the inconvenience. I ordered the calamari as a starter, and it was perfectly cooked and very filling and so for our entrees we ordered the burger, and the turkey bacon and gouda wrap everything was very good and I think this is one of our new lunch spots I can't wait to com e back for brunch and dinner. I think this is the perfect little spot for any occasion they have indoor and outdoor seating you can come here with friend or family or even on a date.

Circled back to this gem of a restaurant today! We decided to grab a late lunch to avoid the crowd. Parking was easy and we were seated immediately on the patio. It was such a lovely day out. Server was prompt to the table to grab our drink and app order. This is still my favorite outdoor patio in the city. Surrounded by old trees that create the most perfect canopy. It's just the most serene environment. Per usual we started out meal with the crab dip. It was as creamy and delicious as ever. I forgot to order extra bread, but we ordered the extra bread to-go. We also ordered some drinks. The Sangria was more like wine with a splash of juice. I sent it back and got the peach spritzer. It was much more flavorful! For unch i couldn't decide between the Filling station salad or the Turkey and Havarty sandwich. I decided to go with the salad I've been coming here for 15 years and the Filling station Salad has not changed!! It's still as good as the first time I had it and I've gotten my husband to join the cult!! It was perfect!!! We've been frequenting another restaurant weekly. Their food hasn't been good so today we decided that we're going to replace them with the Filling Station. They're going to know our names, soon!!

Great blue cheese stuffed olives in my dirty martini. We stopped in for a beverage after a homecoming party and this martini did not disappoint. Very cozy inside with a fireplace. A great place for a date night or dinner out with the family.

This is a great spot for lunch (or dinner!) in downtown WS. I'm really surprised the reviews aren't higher here. Great sandwiches, good prices, wonderful service and a really cozy, cute atmosphere (especially on the patio). Parking can be tricky, but you can get lucky and snag a spot on the street or in the small lot next to the building. My mom and I came on Saturday afternoon. Our waiter, Mike W, was SO nice and attentive. We were in and out. I ordered the Applewood Smoked Bacon and Turkey Havarti sandwich. It's very flavorful, and the Granny Smith apples add a nice crunch. My mom got the BBQ Bacon Grill sandwich and raved about it. Their fries are delicious, crispy, seasoned well, and were nice and hot. My friend loves their Turkey, Bacon, & Gouda wrap. FTFS is definitely in our rotation of lunch spots now! Add it to your list, then swing by one of the many local bars nearby. Great area!

Always a favorite! Salmon Salad is delicious as are the shrimp and grits! The patio is open year round and a lovely place to be when you want to eat outside for any reason. The service is always good and friendly and it definitely feels like home away from home
