So it's here in the downtown district of Fort Mill and so there's plenty of parking nearby unless there is soem sort of special event. We arrived here on a Saturday afternoon and the brunch menu was still going. Warmly welcomed and seated immediately, we looked over the menu.Mrs. K. ordered a mocktail "Berry Smash" with mint and berries that she thoroughly enjoyed. I had a "Dad Beer" from their menu.For mains, it was a tough call as there are quite a few fabulous options. In the end, it was the Blueberry Pancakes for Mrs. K. (with lemon zest!) and the Sweet Potato Tot Hash for me. Both were served quickly and still hot from the kitchen. We enjoyed it very much but big portions and so the remains ended up being reheated for breakfast the next day.A lovely location with delightful food and we enjoyed spending a good piece of our Saturday afternoon here. It's been a little over a year since my last review so time for an update.Ben & I went for lunch on Tuesday. It was busy @ 1230p, 20 minute wait for a table so we sat @ the bar. It was fine, we got great service from Brittany who was my server last time.We each had the steak sandwich with grilled Brussels sprouts. I wanted the steak tacos but they only served with corn tortillas which we all know fall apart after the first bite.Ben also got the hot chicken Sando & the FM Burger 'to go'.We were both pleased with the steak sandwich though mine was just a little in the rare side. The fried egg, sunny side up was an interesting spin but liked the added protein option.Ben got a visit from Jason, now Manger after leaving the same post @ next door Hobo's. He said their lunch business had been steadily climbing for the last year.I really like their creative menu. They have a daily ' blue plate' lunch special.

FM Eatery has become our go-to local restaurant for upscale meals in a casual setting.How do I describe the food here? Websites call it "Southern", "Global", "American", even "Soul". None are entirely accurate. What the Fortes family have done is fill a menu with their favorite dishes - and then add their own unique twists to them. So we have fried oysters - with a crunchy fried chicken coating. Or squash bisque - with candied pears, ameretto cookie crumble and balsamic vinegar. Or bacon wrapped dates with a bourbon honey glaze. And every small or large plate we've ordered has been delicious. Our objective has been to work our way through the menu - a near impossible task because numerous dishes are rotated in and out. (Not to mention daily specials, once my wife and I shared a bowl of Ramen.)We've taken to sitting at the bar when it's available. It's comfortable and we enjoy interacting with the friendly bartender and service staff.On our last visit I ordered the Big Bang Burger. This was seriously the best burger I've had in a very long time. Start with smashed wagyu beef patties (charred on the edges yet still tender in the middle) add carmelized onions, pork belly, house-made pickles, cheese, and fried egg on a brioche bun. Delicious! And huge, it made a second meal for me.I can't recommend Fortes Mill Eatery highly enough. Give it a try, it's now open for lunch and Sunday Brunch as well as for dinner.

Was driving back from Charleston and decided to stop in FM for dinner at FM Eatery which was along the way and had great ratings. Sat at the bar and Bridgette was the bar tender Started with an OMB Mecktoberfest.For an entree I ordered shrimp & scallops grits.Patiently waiting for my entree.....The entree arrived quickly and was consumed almost as quickly!Great meal. I enjoyed the seat on the scallops and the flavor of the sauce. The sausage and spinach and tomatoes added just the right texture and flavor. I highly recommend the shrimp & scallop grits and the FM Eatery in general. Great welcoming and relaxed place in small town Fort Mill.Cheers!

Bang bang lunch special on the lighter side - shrimp overcooked. Still love this place just won't order this dish again.

Ventured in while in town visiting family; we grabbed lunch (need to update the hours on here!). Gorgeous warm and bright space, with very friendly staff (our server was Faith); I thought it was cool the owner/chef was chatting with folks at a table nearby. We both ordered the Berry Smash mocktail ($7), which was a bright and colorful drink. I think it could've been slightly sweeter (or have more berry flavor), but it was nice.After much indecision because the menu is fabulous (lots of seafood options), I chose the brown butter scallops ($16). It was a generous portion for the price and the flavors were awesome! I loved the bacon saltiness and the grits were cooked perfectly. The arugula salad helped to break up the savoriness so I loved that inclusion. All around a lovely experience on a random Wednesday in Ft Mill. Thanks FM Eatery!

If you don't know, now you know that it is Hot Chicken Week here in the Charlotte area!What a perfect excuse to travel down to FM Eatery in the heart of downtown Fort Mill. I was blown away by this restaurant in a quaint little town. The atmosphere is the cutest and they had an acoustic guitarist playing during brunch on a Sunday. I started with a bloody mary flight that was a lot of fun! I had never tried so many different styles of bloody marys before. I loved the variety. The hot chicken sandwich was deliciously crispy, juicy and spicy. The hash bowl was delicious with a lot of attention to detail and flavor. All of the dishes that came out around us looked fantastic and the prices are very reasonable.We were able to walk in without a reservation but beware - they only serve brunch from 9am to 1pm on Sundays. That 1:00 cutoff is something to be aware of. I really want to go back and try their dinner menu! This would be a great spot for date night and stroll the downtown area after dinner. Perfect!

This is our new breakfast spot! I got the Brunch BLT with guac and a side of grits. The hubs got shrimp and grits with hash browns. Everything was so tasty. The hash browns were so well seasoned. The bacon in my BLT was crispy and the tomatoes and arugula tasted as if just pulled and prepared for my sandwich. Last time we had the blue berry pancakes! Never have we had one bad dish! Try it!

Everything went great; outstanding food for brunch, including blueberry pancakes, and avocado toast. SWEET!!
