Flopeye Diner

I drive through Great a few times a month. One day I saw a facebook post about Flopeye Diner, and wondered why I hadn't stopped by. Months later, I stopped on my way home. A bubbly young lady took my order and offered some suggestions. Sadly, I wasn't a fan of the food. The regular customers seemed to be happy. I was told breakfast is delicious.

All grease, no taste. I took two bites and couldn't stomach eating anymore. Niagara Falls had nothing on the amount of grease pouring out of this Western Omelet. I told the cashier the omelet wasn't edible- so he did remove the single side order pancake from our ticket. I don't know how a single pancake equals one omelet, but, lesson learned. Won't be back. Hated it.

Love visiting my grandma's hometown also like being one of the first customers here early in the morning on the way to Charlotte. I enjoy the shredded hash browns with over easy eggs and crispy liver mush. Definitely an ole school diner off the beaten path.

We were driving from Pittsburgh to Orlando when I suddenly had the urge for some good Southern, home style eats. Yelp directed us to the Flopeye Diner. WOW! This is why I love Yelp.... Everything we had was mouthwateringly delicious. My husband ordered a Country-fried steak and said it was the best one he'd had since living in Houston thirty years ago. I ordered fried okra, greens, and fried chicken. Sooooo good. We also got an order of chicken livers, which was more like a meal than an appetizer. We ate waaay too much and had leftovers, which we ate in the hotel last night. The Flopeye Diner was so good that we are going to drive the 17 hours to Florida again --instead of flying-- just so we can eat there again. No lie.

New to the South and this place looked like a perfect place for an experience. And it sure was ! Breakfast was so delicious . The biscuits were melt in your mouth my eggs were fluffy and the sausage - wow ! I didn't try the liver mush but I am down for it next time ! Looking forward to our next visit - lunch next time !

If you're hungry this place will feed you! Casual, country atmosphere and a diverse clientele. The patio was a lovely place to relax after our meal, too.

Amazing little gem!Do not judge the place by the quirky, wildly fun exterior. Food was awesome. Felt like I was in someone's kitchen. Pancakes were fluffy and huge. French toast was tasty, flavorful. The cinnamon & powdered sugar. Seems they have a breakfast menu but the lunch/dinner is daily/changing What a great breakfast!

Food was so good and the service was great. Our family of 4 and 2 friends all found yumminess. Food was quick and so tasty.

Great food and great people. Everyone get the Philly cheesesteak. You will not regret it
