Flight A Gathering Place

Love love love this place! The minute you walk in the decor is amazing and chic. Wasn't expecting that. I was expecting more of a brewery vibe. This is a really nice wine bar but they have a full bar too. They do flights, bottles, brews and cocktails. They have a great food menu too. We came to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday afternoon. Seating inside is great booths and tables and then the bar. They also have a room for rental for parties /showers. We got seated straight away without a reservation but we got there when it opened. Ordered a nice bottle of bubbly. For our birthday girl. Which was served in great coupe glasses . We ordered the ahi tuna au poivre large plate to share with, had some olives and roasted red peppers and chili oil and balsamic reduction. Tuna was peppercorn and coriander crusted and cooked beautifully. Nice thick steak type pieces. Loved this dish. Also shared the funghi pizza. Lively thin crust and cheesy and lots of different mushrooms. Yum. They gave us in the house a nice skillet cookie with ice cream for the birthday girl. Which was really nice. Served hot and with ice cream this went down well! Service was amazing and I just really loved the vibe. Great bar without being too loud. Great food and drinks! Really great staff too. Plus in charlotte to find free parking was awesome ! This place has a parking lot! I can't wait to go back to Flight! !

I've been wanting to try this spot in the neighborhood that opened last year. The place itself is super cozy, with modern and rustic vibes. They have seating for small groups, or even larger groups. We went with 4 people and ended up sharing a handful of appetizers and pizza. Highly recommend the whipped ricotta and meatballs. I also got an espresso martini which was so tasty. I'll definitely get that again. As for the pizza--absolutely delicious! The crust was crispy, the toppings were fresh, and it had just the right amount of flavor. All of the pizzas sounded good, and I can't wait to go back and try other kinds. Flight is perfect for a date night, a group hang, or even just a casual outing with friends. Highly recommend!

The latest addition to the one of the best epicurean corners to ever do it--with Crunkleton, Rosemont, Puerta, Cantina, & others all within a stone's throw of each other--Flight is definitely a place worth gathering! Pretty art deco decor. Respectable array of wine, craft cocktails, & small bites. Excellent service. In alignment with the Olympic season that they opened within, Flight serves 10s across the board. Pro Tip: Get the surprisingly spirit-forward Espresso Martini. It's called "The Daily Ritual" & I think I understand why.

Came here for a special birthday dinner late Sunday night. Great modern vibe. Delicious food--had the broccolini, wood fired pizza, tiramisu, and Montepulciano wine, reminiscent of our recent trip to Italy! Great service. Outdoor patio nice for a drink afterwards-- with heaters!

What a great place . The wait staff (Steven) and management (Kerrin, Rob and Kayte) all top notch .amd such lovely people people The owners Vicky and Dwight make you feel you are sitting in their home and are very welcoming. I love all the decor and comfy tables and booths. For drink starters i had the hibiscus gin sour and raspberry leo spritz.. yummy and refreshing.. had the grandma slice appetizer , which was their homemade foccia bread with homemade sauce and cheese . Whats not to love?? . I also had the fig and pig pizza which was very good and with a crispy crust. My hubs had the meatballs and the funghi pizza , both were equally delish ! We will definitely be back !

The food was pretty good for the price, but not the most amazing thing I've eaten. The cocktails were good, not amazing. The ambiance was busy and dark which was a fun vibe. The service left a lot to be desired... I had a reservation at 7, arrived promptly at that time and was not seated until after 7:20. The hostess would not make eye contact with me after getting me checked in, which was really strange considering I was standing right by her and waiting very patiently. Not once did the hostess or the person who seated me & my party, or the server apologize for the wait (despite having a reservation and being on time!) any acknowledgment of that would have been nice.

Went in and was warmly greeted by the staff and grabbed a bar spot (wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday). The team at the bar was engaging and educational and helped me pick out a great sav blanc while I waited on my Salsiccia pizza. Kayte the manager stopped over to check on me, was super friendly, and offered some additional dipping options for the pizza crust. I went for the GF crust and OMG was blown away by this pizza!! The crust is about the best GF I've tried and really had the taste and texture of normal crust (no easy feat). The sausage, peppers and cheese of the Salsiccia are just the right blend of flavors and spice that have me already looking forward to the next visit.

I was blown away at how busy this place was - every seat filled! Service was attentive and patient. I liked the dark/moody interior. I thought the experience with the wine may be different than it was since I was under the impression it was a wine bar? It does not feel like one to me particularly - service made it feel more like a busy restaurant. I did not like the chopped salad at all - ordered it based off of a menu photo online, but it was pretty pathetic in comparison. Seemed like leftovers just thrown in and not a thought out dish. It was missing ingredients I would've ordered it for! The chicken that I added was just odd and I wish I did not add it to the salad. It was a strange cut and barely seasoned. Maybe the most bland chicken ever. It looked to be a cut with a leg and don't want to deal with bones on a salad! Completely turned off by that. As far as parking goes - good luck! Arrive with plenty of time to account for driving around the establishment if you're going a busy evening. I wound up parking across the street in the deck which was a whopping $25. I would go back, but would not drive and would stick to wine and maybe the bread as it looked very good from afar!

Please go anywhere else. My girlfriend and I came in last night to have some drinks and food before a show. They told us it would be a 30 minute wait despite 10 tables being open. No problem- they sat us at a little bar to have a drink before dinner. We ordered and watched as person after person- despite ordering after us- got their drinks. Finally 30 minutes later we get a table- not a drink to be had. We ordered right away, got our drinks, and got our salad in rapid succession. Great! Salad was okay- we got the chopped. The grandma slice was terrible- almost inedible. Cold in the center and doughy. We waited and waited... 40 minutes for a pizza that takes two minutes to cook? The waitress came by at 850 and acknowledged that we had told her we needed to leave by 9ish and our whole dinner is a "disaster"- could she offer us a free dessert? Sure- we'd love to scarf our pizza and your burnt cookie in the last ten minutes of our dinner. So thoughtful of them. Thanks for a great start to our evening, flight!

Best and most different pizza (Pig & Fig) I've ever had. Usually don't do dessert but ricotta cheesecake was over the top. They have a lot more on their menu that looks really good. Their bar selection is also quite good. And the staff I met (Christine and Meghan) are very knowledgeable about everything on the menu and although very busy, we're very personable and made me feel welcomed. The ambiance is also good. The GM Kayte Morton is running a true Gathering Place gem in Elizabeth. I'll be back, with friends and family for sure.
