Flat Rock Wood Room

Enjoyed dining here with friends. We all ordered the same dish, 1/2 smoked chicken with 2 sides and cornbread. Our sides ranged from sweet potato fries, apple slaw, baked beans, and buttered corn. Our chicken was very tender. All our sides were delicious. Although the chicken came with bbq sauce, several varieties of bottled sauce on the table. We enjoyed everything. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. Good portions, food plated nicely, came out hot. Prices also very reasonable. The atmosphere was was comfortable. We enjoyed everything!

Delicious sandwiches and great spot to stop for lunch. The staff was friendly enough althouh not that busy the hostess seemed way stressed.Our srver was nice and quick on food arriving. The restaurant was welcoming and clean. We will come back when weather warms up and enjoy the porch.

Had a rib and the brisket platter. I have never seen a brisket like this. Solid chocolate brown all the way through. No variation in color, no bark, no smoke flavor. Definitely no rendered fat at all. Trying to pick up a slice and it would literally crumble into pieces. The rib... whole rib meat came off the bone on first bite. Served was very nice and attentive.

Flat Rock Wood Room has been somewhere I dine before my Flat Rock Playhouse shows and usually have great experiences. This time things started out with the staff trying to seat me at the bar. I didn't get there before opening and wait in line to sit at the bar.I had a friendly waitress though and ordered quickly as I had already decided what I was going to eat there and what to get to go for dinner. I got the Tuscan Sun pizza but waited on placing the to go order.I was put at a table with a view of the entrance so I watched as a party in the other room wanted to switch tables and went outside to a table there. The staff sort of threw a fit about that but the guy making the pizza crusts got very angry about it. The party he was angry with had no clue he was angry about it but it was disturbing to the rest of us. The anger wasn't in proportion to what happened. Customers coming in witnessed this as well and one spoke to him about it and there was dialogue back and forth then those customers decided to leave. I decided there myself not to place the to go order or return again.I just wanted a nice meal out before the show and that response just changed the whole vibe of the place. I understand that they are a busy place but you can still be nice to customers.The Tuscan pizza was really good and did come out quickly. My waitress brought extra napkins and tried to refill my beverage but I just wanted to leave.

Our server, Iyana, was spot on! Give this girl a raise! We ordered the pretzel appetizer & it was great- served with spicy mustard and cheese. We had combos and the skillet pics speak for themselves! The only thing I didn't like was the andouille sausage. The case was broken, was smothered in bbq sauce and had the texture of hamburger. I have never had andouille like this. If they make it- it's wrong. If they buy it, they need to get their money back.It was not good. I love spicy & I took one small bite and it was not edible. The collards were "doctored" with bacon bits and onions. Maybe canned? Nothing special ... the cornbread tasted JIFFY. If you go for the smoked meats & bbq - you're ok ....I do want to return to try their pizza and sandwiches which I hear are awesome!

was just ok and no more... The Brisket was very dry and NEEDED lots of sauce...not how i like it. The Ribs "memphis style" were baby backs and had more fat then meat on each one....flavor was ok...needed sauce. The fried onions were really good and the best part of that meal.The pastrami sandwich was EXCELLANT and would order only that again.will try the restaurant again but not order any of the above (except pastrami)i cook Brisket on my pellet grill 16 hours and it comes out very jucy. You would think a restaurant with professional chefs would do better....this meal was disappointing

Mediocre at best. We had several at our table and our feelings were unanimous. Pizzas were bland. BBQ was disappointing. A side salad was $9 for barely anything in it. The only bright spots were that meatball appetizer was pretty good and the pretzel was good. We also felt rushed throughout our meal. Our entrées came out while we were still eating the appetizers. I think the waitress was doing what she felt like was good service, but it was hard to talk when she kept coming over to ask if we needed anything else. None of us see the need to visit again.

Stopped here for a quick lunch before the Musical Show at Flat Rock Playhouse. Great place for BBQ !!! Delicious pulled pork, corn bread was sweet like cake...loved it!!! mac and cheese was also excellent tasting!!!Enjoyed our lunch!!!

Wow the BBQ was cooked perfectly tender. Brisket sandwich with burnt ends and collards were sooooo good. The platter is plenty enough for 2 people. Cheese bacon grits and Mac & cheese woah The wait was 15 min but worth it.Put our name down as Wendy the Great and made a ton of people smile coming and going. The host even thanked us for gracing the place with our presence. BAHAHAHAHA! It's contagious

The worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. This used to be a go to place when we were in the area. Now we will never go back. The service is awful. A bunch of teenagers who could care less about the customers and know nothing about the food. They don't remove appetizer and salad plates so you eat your entire meal with dirty dishes piled on your table. We saw one waiter dump his iced tea into the pitcher used to serve customers. Gross! They bussed three tables but never wiped them down or cleaned them. Just sat new customers at dirty tables. The fries were freezer burned and inedible. Definitely not fresh at all. The pizza was a soggy mess with too much sauce. Don't waste your money on this place. What used to be great is now a sad excuse for BBQ with horrible service.
