Exit Strategy North

This place is so fun and the perfect place to hang out with your friends and do something different or go on a date! It is $26 per person like most escape rooms, and you book in advance online. The staff was super friendly and funny, and my experience here was great. I only tried one room, but from the props, lighting, and overall quality of it I will definitely be back to try more rooms.I tried out Baruta's Revenge. This room has the lowest success rate, and is just as hard as they warn you it is. However, I always like a challenge so I did it anyways. The rooms were really creepy and they did a great job of executing the theme! The introduction to the room gave us a good scare too. One thing about this room that I wasn't the biggest fan of (spoiler alert) was that many of the challenges involved you chanting/saying phrases out loud, where you would then be heard by whoever was on the intercom and then they would unlock the next steps for you. This was different because most rooms I have played in involved more hands on activities and challenges without involving people outside the room (staff) so it took a lot of time for us to figure out we had to say things out loud rather than find a key or something in the room.

Our guide was amazing and she played the character extremely well. The escape room was cool definitely a bit difficult for the 4.0 rating but it was fun. It also felt a bit cramped with 5 people

We did the ruins at this location and it was extremely fun. Corey, which was the gentleman that was working there , Was very sweet and explained to us everything with great customer service. With this type of great experience, I want to come back and do all of the other rooms. Thank you Corey!!

I came yesterday after being invited by a couple of friends to complete The Ruins. I was nervous when I realized that it would only be the three of us because my previous experiences were with a large group. We were able to escape and I'm wondering if smaller groups work better for escaping versus large groups. The experience was excellent from beginning to end. Upon entering, I noticed the lobby area was clean and open. We were greeted promptly and instructed to complete waivers since we hadn't been there in years. The check-in process was seamless. We received instructions and watched the video which was informative and concise. The puzzles were challenging but not unsolvable. I appreciated how the staff did an excellent job with their role in making it a fully immersive experience. I can't wait to go back!!

Christine and Hunter were great for mansion! Christine was a great butler and hunter was very helpful with the hints

I had a frustrating experience in the Ruins room. While the decor was very immersive, and it felt a bit like we were on the set of "Legends of the Hidden Temple", the puzzles were sub-par. None of the puzzles were cerebral - they were more like "place an object here" type puzzles. There were also some very frustrating red herrings - like when we unlocked laser pointers pointing at very specific things in the room... which were never used. To top it off, the staff was unhelpful and rude. Our game master constantly mumbled (both during our intro and when giving hints), so we couldn't understand half of what he said. At the end he rushed us out and wouldn't show us how the remaining puzzles in the room (which we did not finish) worked. He said we were the last game of the day and wanted to leave. We thought we at least deserved an explanation on how the other puzzles worked - although he did confirm that the lasers did nothing. Overall would not recommend if you truly like escape rooms. There are ones with much better puzzles in Charlotte. This might still be a good fit for those who haven't done many rooms, and are more interested in the immersion than the puzzles.

What an incredible experience! The Ruins was extremely detailed and immersive from start to finish. The quality of the props, decor, and puzzles was truly incredible! It felt like we were actually in ancient ruins, right down to the sand covered floors.Quite a challenging room for us, but our hilarious and a Game Master, Lindsay, gave excellent clues when we needed help. She also did an awesome job of staying in character, which really added a lot to the experience!I can't wait to come back and try more of Exit Strategy's rooms and hope to have Lindsay as a GM in other rooms as well!

So disappointed with this place. The introduction to the room as great but shortly into the game clues were available but there was no light in the area. I couldn't read a few things myself, the younger people I was with could but then I couldn't study the clues myself without asking for help from them every time. I felt left out of the game. I was frustrated and upset the rest of the time. After I spoke with a staff member who said the light bulb was out. If that's the case give me a flashlight or let me use my phone light. The staff referred me to the manager who also could care less. So disappointed with the experience and lack of concern by staff. I wonder how long the light has been out and if they will even bother to fix it for the next group.

Today my sorority chapter visited Exit Strategy North as a bonding experience. It was so much fun! Corey, who was our main staff contact was absolutely phenomenal. My group went through the subject zero room, so scary! We beat it with a little over 3 minutes left from the hour time slot we were given to complete the escape room.It was so much fun and I can honestly say we are closer than when we entered. We worked together with our 2 and half collective braincells and came out victorious!Thanks again Corey :)10/10 would do again!

Had lots of fun in The Mansion with my two friends! Darren and Elana were fantastic. I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again. :)
