Our go to place! Never disappoints. The best upscale, but still casual steak house restaurant, with plenty of other options. The tuna is a favorite!

The Filet was dry aged to perfection and thick red and cooked exactly as described. The seasoning and crusting was unique and delicious. The four cheese bread was a cheesy delight perfectly toasted and browned. Warm soft heaven. But the real standout was the service by Lucas. He has a sparkling friendly personality. He was the exact level of interaction and performed the classic 17 points of service with a flair. Clearly the management invested in this young man's training. Ask for him by name. Trust me on this. The ambiance was thoughtful and relaxing. We will be back!

EDITED/UPDATED: Less than 24 hours after I visited and wrote this review, I received a phone call from the beverage manager whom I had met the night before, profusely apologetic and offering a "make good" on a future visit. You can tell a lot about how an establishment handles things when things go sideways. Our experience last night notwithstanding, we'll be back to give them another try, with -- based on the preponderance of comments and the very reviews and recommendations that brought us in the first place -- optimism that our experience was an unusual one on a bad night for Epic. ------------Ugh. I take no pleasure in writing a negative review, but tonight, our meal was a profound disappointment. Borderline disaster, I'm sad to report.Visited here once before and had a nice meal at the bar. This time, brought the family. Lovely menu, great room, great reputation., and excited to visit it post-reopening-after-fire. Appears that the restaurant was slammed -- we saw one group of 16 and gather another group of 20 was seated shortly after we were. Bad process flow planning by the restaurant? Glad that their business is good..but it turned into our (expensive) problem. The end result was slow service, food that wasn't hot enough, and no effort to make up for it.The upshot? A fully priced meal ($100 per person with tip -- full tip as I didn't want to stiff the server for his management and kitchen letting him down) ... that was absolutely not worth it. By a lot.I'll start with the important fact that our server was AWESOME. Smart. Professional. Attentive. Knowledgeable. We took his recommendation on wine and on a "not on the menu but always served" Shanghai Shrimp appetizer that was fabulous. Our two glasses of wine, a pinot grigio off the menu and a red blend from the restaurant's "coravin" system (also a great recc from our server) took WAY too long to arrive...and the red arrived well before the white. Came from different places at the bar, I suppose...but I'd have hoped for a more professional delivery. The white came AFTER the appetizer...which we ordered well after we were asked about drinks. The entrees, too, took a surprisingly long time to arrive -- they ultimately came just over an hour after we were seated. We had a ribeye with green beans, the stuffed chicken with mashed potatoes, and a strip steak with brussels sprouts for mains. All but the chicken came out lukewarm. Sigh. The restaurant boasts about their 1800 degree South Bend broiler -- this Chicagoan knows that steaks should be served sizzling after being finished in a broiler like that...and they most definitely weren't tonight. My steak and side were so disappointing that I -- with great embarrassment -- sent them back and asked to have them heated. When they returned, the steak was no warmer...the sprouts were hot enough...but the damage was done (as were my wife and son...), and I didn't want to make more of a scene by repeating the exercise. I confided in the server after the fact that the second attempt was only marginally better than the first...and the steak was the same lukewarm effort...in hopes that he'd pass that along to the kitchen and perhaps to management. Felt bad for him. He tried really hard.At this premium price point (not quite NY prices, but $100 per person all in), I'd at the very least have expected a visit and apology from the manager or an offer to comp us a glass of wine or an offer for dessert. No such luck. Kind of awestruck.I imagine Epic's reputation is well deserved based on what we read and what brought us here and what brought me back. Hoping that this experience wasn't representative...but it was dreadful and not close to worth the price point.

First time back since my last review. Food was still amazing. This time, however, I had a couple issues. First of all, the waiter didn't do a great job setting expectations on the food. A loaded baked potato, for instance, should come with sour cream. Mine didn't. When I saw the horseradish cream, I mistook it for sour cream and put it on my potato which elicited a comment from the waiter. Secondly the steak orders got mixed up on terms of doneness. I ordered rare and my daughter ordered medium rare. However they came out to us reversed. My daughter and I were ok with how these were cooked and we didn't say anything about it.We had table service by a waitress in addition to the waiter. She was the one who brought out our wine, but it seemed she did more than this task. IMO she filled in for the waiter and did much of his responsibilities. I thought she did an excellent job and wish I could have designated our tip solely for her. Nevertheless I left a generous tip. Maybe we just caught them on an off night. However for the price you pay to dine here, a bit more is expected.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience! My best friend is getting married and requested that her bachelorette party included Epic Chophouse in Mooresville. We got a reservation and were seated promptly upon our arrival despite not all of our party being there. We were taken upstairs to a large booth. The lights throughout the restaurant are dimmed with a small candle on each table, which makes it feel like a special occasion. The waiter Eric found out about our special occasion and helped to make our experience great, and even provided the bride to be with a free dessert (we all shared it because it was huge). He explained the menu and went over the specials, and also mentioned that Shanghai Shrimp are an appetizer that's not on the menu but they have it as an option. We ended up getting three orders of it! It's a delicious take on bang bang shrimp. I also ordered lobster bisque since that's one of my favorite soups. I will say that I wasn't expecting how peppery it was going to be; I'm used to it being a bit sweeter, but it was still rich and filling. For my main course, I got the 10oz sirloin cooked medium rare with Yukon gold mashed potatoes. The steak is seasoned wonderfully and every bite nearly melts in your mouth. The mashed potatoes are a smashed consistency and are also seasoned well. For dessert, the bride got a slice of strawberry cheesecake which we all split. We expected there to be some form of strawberry sauce on it, but instead it came with a few strawberries on the plate. However, the creaminess of the cheesecake didn't really need toppings. We ate it quickly so I didn't get a picture, but 6 of us were all able to get a few bites so you can easily share it. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I hope to find an occasion to go back soon!

Great experience. Everything we ordered was delicious. Mixed drinks, cold beer, cheese toast, salad, ribs, steak, fish, scallops. Portions were huge and everyone had leftovers.Service was solid. Our waitress was there the perfect amount at the right times, anticipated needs and was prompt. She was able to answer questions about ingredients and portions. Atmosphere is upscale - nice for a date night. Note dress code requires sleeves on men's shirts. We arrived early for our reservation and were promptly seated. We come a couple times per year and always look forward to returning.

Love this restaurant. The drink prices are very good and on the cheaper end compare to other restaurants. The food was good. Steak was tender. The dessert was also good. Good portion and price is nice too. The service is nice. They are attentive. The ambiance is nice too. Very pretty and fancy place. They are in the heart of downtown so either street parking or parking in the back. They do accept walk in and it's a pretty quick wait time when you go on weekdays.

Another outstanding dinner at Epic. Our server, Q, was knowledgeable, polite and attentive. He remembered everything and was very professional. Came with family to celebrate a birthday. I usually get ribeye when we come here but this time, I opted for the BLT salad because thick cut bacon, arugula and vinaigrette is one tasty combination. And again, BACON! It's what I was feeling and I went with it. I did try this seasonal pumpkin beer in tap and whole it didn't really have a pumpkin flavor, it was very good. The rest of the family had ribs, steak kabobs, and ribeye steaks. We all enjoyed our meals and there were no complaints. No pics because we were too busy eating and enjoying ourselves, plus there are probably 100s of pics out there of everything in their menu. The restaurant was busy as usual and the ambiance was energetic. Love this place and hope to return very soon, most likely for prime rib Mondays.

Epic Chophouse never disappoints! I checked the 4 course New Year's Eve dinner and it was delicious! Must try if you're into staple type restaurants. Service is always great and the atmosphere comes with great vibes. Dress to impress.

Epic lives up to its name! Lovely dinner with the family. Sat upstairs which was nice but would have preferred the first floor. Busy place. Friendly and attentive wait staff. It's on our top list of must return to restaurants. I'd stay away from their key lime pie because the crust was very tough. But everything else was amazing.
