Epic has been our go to "special event" restaurant since we moved to Fort Mill in 2021. We have never had a bad dining experience here, the food has always been superb, the service impeccable and the restaurant has the perfect atmosphere for any celebration. My husband and I chose Epic last night for our anniversary dinner. Luke was our server and went above and beyond to give us a wonderful dining experience. For our appetizer we shared the Shanghai Shrimp, an Epic "special" that we both hope never stops being a special because it is so delicious. I had the Sea Bass sauté for my entree, while my husband finally, after wanting to try it many times but always going with something else, ordered the Flaming Hot Couple (he loved it)

Had a very nice time at Epic for a night out overall. Firstly, the food was truly the shining star. We ordered the cheese toast as a starter. Tasty without being too heavy. For mains we had the epic burger with Brussel sprouts side, and the smokin hot couple which is three filet medallions and Cajun shrimp. We asked for rare, which many restaurants claim to offer but usually get medium rare. Epic truly delivered rare and both were delicious. We split key lime pie for dessert, which was not too sweet, and the lime was very refreshing.Waiter was speedy, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. The ambiance in the room was also very nice. Where it was darkly lit overall, each table had bright smaller lights which made it easy to see my husband and our menus clearly. Added intimacy despite being packed for dinner.Only downside was the front of house staff. We had made reservations inside and were initially seated outside. We asked right away to be moved and were met with an eye roll. Then as we were waiting to figure out our next seat the front staff just stood around gossiping and laughing. Not quite the caliber experience compared to the rest of the staff or the night.

5/5 for ambienceNegative 2/5 for everything elseThis restaurant is beautiful. We have been to all the decent restaurants in Fort Mill but had heard mixed reviews about Epic. Some people loved it and some hated it. I think I understand the mixed sentiment now.Long review short, service here from our server was slow and inexperienced but she was very courteous and kind. Both of our steaks were undercooked- petit filet for my wife and 100% Wagyu NY Strip for me. We both ordered, as we always do, our steaks medium rare. You always have to be prepared for the steak to be a little underdone when you order that temp and could at least send it back to bring the temp up a bit. Unfortunately our server didn't come back for 15 minutes to see if our steaks had been done properly. So my wife ate most of hers but couldn't get thru it all as it just needed the temp bumped up a little. My steak, however was rare and had a legit very cold center. I've never spit out steak into a napkin before but this night, I had to. The worst part...the manager came out to apologize but then proceeded to tell me "that's just how Wagyu is prepared...that's how it is when it's medium rare..." ..........uh what? I told him "it was cold...Medium rare is based on temperature, not the cut of meat." He gave me a condescending / patronizing look and took both steaks off our bill. We didn't want them redone at this point. It had been almost 20 minutes old by then.Ambience here is very nice. Our server, though slow, was nice. The flavors were good. Mismanagement of service seems to be the biggest issue here. I would have given them 2 stars had they not taken both steaks off our bill. We are local to this area so we are hoping to give it another shot, maybe just sitting at the bar.

Great atmosphere and decent food.However, slow and not great service. Pay attention on what you order and what you get... we ordered a bone-in NY but got a none bone-in and didn't realize until the end... NO APOLOGIES from the server or manager!In addition, no specialty for birthday celebrations...Next time, we would prefer a server with more passion with the job!

This is the first time we ordered steaks that were not exactly what we expected. My filet mignon was very good, but my wife and her girlfriend ordered the 104 ribeyes and they were probably substandard for a chophouse even in Charlotte. Neither one were very happy, especially with the thickness And my wife's girlfriend was definitely unhappy with the quality of her steak. They were probably choice and definitely not Angus or prime so we'll choose another steakhouse next time we dine out.

You can't go wrong with choosing Epic. We were told there wasn't a wait when we called but found out otherwise when we arrived. But Joshua made up for it. He was amazing. Hubby started with an Old Fashioned and said it was good; he's critical. I always have the Hess Cabernet Sauvignon because I typically get steak. But Joshua threw a monkey wrench in my plan when he described the specials. I couldn't resist the Chilean Sea Bass special with lump crab and butter cream sauce atop spinach. Please please keep that on the menu! It was fabulous...buttery and flavorful. I chose the cabbage as my side dish. It was reminiscent of my late grandmother's well-seasoned cabbage. We are ending the night with an espresso martini!

Okay , lately I have been so disappointed in chain steakhouses. The steaks get thinner and thinner and nothing is the same. I found this place while working in Rock Hill SC. What a find! When you dine here you feel like a king! I love the French Onion Soup with three cheeses melted on top of the rich flavorful thick onion soup with the bread soaked in the goodness. The Steaks are tasty ( I had the 401 Ribeye) Tonight I had birthday dessert : the cheesecake and one bit and I'm hooked .. it's soo creamy ( rivals New York cheesecake at Juniors in Brooklyn) . I'm not kidding this place is special . Save room for the cheesecake and let me know how much you like it, or anyone of my other recommendations. Enjoy good food!
