I've never been inside but we've had delivery and takeout from here. The first time, the food was rather bland (Enchiladas Verde and ACP). This time, it was surprisingly tasty and filling. I chose the Fried Chimichanga with beef filling for my husband. He really enjoyed it, said it was moist inside and nicely filled. I had the Enchiladas El Primro. (I had a Mexican cheese filling inside.) It had both the regular (red) and verde (green) sauces. It was really good and lived up to my expectations. The rice was mild and the beans might have thin, but were still creamy and tasty. This second time, the food was good enough to raise the rating from 3 star to 4 star.

Came across El Primo when I was searching for Mexican food in the area that served empanadas. If you didn't know about this restaurant ahead of time you may easily pass it by, but it's worth locating! I was very impressed with the service, the price of the food, the portion size and of course the TASTE! It was so delicious!!!! The salsa that was served alongside my dish was also delightful. I highly recommend the empanadas and would drive to Statesville again just for them. The menu had a variety of authentic dishes that I hope to try sometime in the near future.

From the outside it doesn't look like much but looks can be deceiving. Traditional Mexican food is offered along with a bit of Tex Mex. Chicken enchiladas are good they can be made verda instead of red sauce my personal preference. Just ask.Tuesday is dollar street tacos and will visit for the Pastor (pork) and Asada (steak) tacos. For two dollars Barbacoa and Carnitas tacos can be had as well.The owner is super nice and even remembers who you are even with a mask on.While they don't have tamales sopes, flautas and tostadas are offered.

We stopped by and ordered fajitas. The fajitas were ok but the rice and beans that came with it were ice cold. I mentioned this to the waiter and she said that they warmed it up already. It was cold like it just came out of the refrigerator.

Went for lunch today and it was great with no drama.Been awhile since I was here last and was not impressed. Went again today and big improvement.Walked in and seated immediately Server was there immediately and took my order and from there, went very quicklyGranted that my order was pretty simple which was their lunch special #7 which is two taco (beef or chicken) with choice of beans of rice. I chose beef and beans.I was surprised how quickly it came out even when they came back and asked if I wanted hard or soft taco's . I chose hard and beansOrder was out in about 5-10 minutes which is good. The beef taco's were great and as for as the beans, no texture and very soupy, Need work here.One comment and that is on the traditional appetizer of Chips and Salsa. The Salsa is excellent with a fresh spicy taste.Doesn't look like much on the outside but try the inside

I have ordered twice from this place and both times the tacos were cold and the tortillas were hard not freshly made . I ordered in advance and still had to wait for about 15 minutes. The place looks good but I think they need better the food quality I might give them one more chance.

OK, on my way back from FL, I stopped in :) [ref. my first review]Ordered the 3 Taco Special again- this time three fish tacos. Excellent again. Consistent food, great service and a friendly family run business. Please go there, I know it doesn't look pretty like a chain but the food is what its about. They are just starting out and only a few weeks into it. Soon they will update the decor and have beer for sale but not as of 5/21/15.I met the family (kids too) they are friendly and nice people. A solid 4 and maybe even 4 1/2 Super friendly and prompt service from the Amiga The chicken enchiladas were excellent and I can see where some customers commented on thetaco being cold. I ordered the26 combo Not easy keeping taco meat warm without drying it out substantially Im sure there's a solution for that Choice of rice or beans hmm ? Offering both with bigger portions would have made my combo closer to a 4 1!2 to 5 As is a worthy and good value and I would definitely recommend! Good stuff
