Wonderfully authentic! The menu is extensive, but, I went for the advertised seafood.I was not disappointed! I only visited once, so, I was only able to try one menu option. --- but, I look forward to a return visit sometime soon. The house Salsa Roja was also worth the trip!

I decided to give this restaurant another go. As like my prior review the food is very tasty as well as large portion size and extremely affordable. But this time the service was very good. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Great service. The guac and the rest of the food was delicious. Everything was very flavorful. The beer was ice cold and amazing. Glad I stopped by.

Real authentic Mexican food unlike most around here. You could taste that it was all made fresh! The service was amazing and our waitress was extremely kind. The restaurant is on the smaller side but it makes for a nice intimate setting for a date night.

Used to be in here every weekend because it was awesome, then it went up in price and down in quality and taste. Flies kept being an issue too... Overall, not impressed the last few times so I stopped going.

The best authentic homestyle food in this area. This restaurant is the only place I will ever go to for Mexican food. Portion sizes are fantastic, the prices are very reasonable and the customer service is phenomenal. Everything on the menu is mouthwatering and absolutely delicious. I'm getting hungry just thinking about all the food that this restaurant offers. You won't regret eating here at all.

I would have to say- this is one of the best, authentic, delicious Mexican spots in Sanford. So many options to chose from. My personal favorite is the steak ranchero.

I was a bit disappointed in our experience here for lunch this past week, but perhaps my expectations were too high, or maybe it was just a bad day for the place. The expectations were high due to the very high number of 4 & 5 star reviews (48 out of 60), and because this restaurant was in Sanford which can lay claim to having had a large, vibrant Hispanic presence for much longer than most NC cities, with the possible exception of Durham. We arrived at about 11:30 and there was a single customer there, no employees in sight. We tried a table and two booths before we found one that wasn't sticky or otherwise dirty - not overly sensitive to this kind of thing since I eat at a fair number of "hole-in-the-wall" places, but there was a discernible level of untidiness here.A lady appear shortly after with chips, salsa, and menus in hand. As she secured our drink orders & we munched on the excellent salsa & fresh tasting chips, we perused the menu which had many of the usual Tex - Mex choices, a number of more traditional dishes (some not seen that regularly), and a surprise or two. One surprise was the lack of a very traditional Mexican dish, Carnitas, in fact there was little pork on the menu other than Pastor, which could be chosen as the protein for a number of dishes (sopes, tacos, tortas, burritos, etc). Another surprise was that despite the name there was no Molcajete on the menu either. After a momentary pout over the missing Carnitas, we settled on a Lunch Special of Enchiladas Verde (chicken), Carne Asada (roll them rrrr's), and a side order of a Chile Relleno. The salsa is chunky, and carries a nice amount of heat. The chips were fresh tasting, but nothing special here. The food was a bit slow coming out, and the dishes came out spread over about 10 minutes - not a big fan of that. The chicken enchiladas were super - the meat moist & tender & very flavorful, and the verde sauce was nicely sharp. The Chile Relleno was not one either of us cared for. The poblano pepper was large, and tasty, but it was over-breaded & soggy, and the Cotija cheese inside the pepper was just dry and tasteless. The Carne Asada was decent though the meat was more than a little chewy, and probably not over great quality. Rice was ok, a bit bland, and the beans were simply thin and watery,So, all in all, not a memorable meal, and not one we'd be tempted to repeat.

The food is authentic. Customer service could be way better when placing an order over the phone. We received our food and found this insect almost still alive inside one of the pupusa. We took it to them and it was as if they are used to receiving these type of complaint. This finding will definitely keep us from returning to eat here. A sanitary place means you prioritize your customer, this place needs to truly work on having this place clean.
