Duckworth's Grill & Taphouse

I've heard great things about this place and finally had the chance to check it out for myself. The inside is nice and has plenty of seating throughout. Service was great from start to finish and the food was delicious. Everything came out fast and was actually pretty reasonably priced. Our waiter, Reese, was wonderful. He made solid recommendations and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The Smokehouse Philly was probably our favorite. The jalapeño bacon being chopped up among the steak was the perfect touch. The fries were delicious as well, although the serving size seemed a little small. I ordered the BBQ chicken & Jalapeño bacon flatbread and it was a solid option. I believe it could've used a little more time in the oven to crisp up the bottom better, but the flavors were wonderful. I really like the bbq sauce they use. The cinnamon sugar donut holes were a nice way to wrap up the meal. They were fresh and fluffy in the center with a nice crisp to the outside. They came highly recommended by our waiter and he didn't steer us wrong one bit. We were a bit too full to finish them all, but he said they'll heat up well in the air fryer so planning to find that out soon. All in all, it was a great meal and I would certainly return again.

Let me start by saying that lived in Charlotte for 14 years before moving to Dallas in 2020. I recall Charlotte having a great food scene so I was excited when my friends mentioned this new spot and decided we check it out while I was in town visiting. I was craving a burger and heard this was the place to go. Upon entering, we were greeted and immediately taken to the table. Our waitress arrived shortly thereafter and was very nice. We started by ordering a few drinks, one of which was an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately, it was not drinkable. Now, I know this is a tap house; not a craft cocktail bar. However, with a full bar you'd expect to be able to get a classic drink. This was not an Old Fashioned at all. It was a shot of Bourbon with an orange sprig on top. There was no balance with water, muddled sugar or bitters. Just pure alcohol and so strong that you couldn't even power through it. We had to send it back. Next, the food. The table ordered various wings and burgers. The lemon pepper wings were cooked well and tasty. However, the Mommoo's wings were disappointing. Understanding that the sauce is vinegar based, we didn't experience what tasted very much so like Worcestershire sauce with onions mixed in. Perhaps it's their style but between the wings being dry, overcooked and with a sauce with visible grilled onions..it was not the greatest. Perhaps if they were fresh they may have tasted better. All the burgers looked amazing and were fresh. However, they all had issues. One was supposed to be Med Well but came out basically rare. The other was supposed to have cheddar cheese and bacon; came out with American cheese and no bacon. It was also very dry and lacked flavor. The last, should have been the Diner burger with thin smashed patties but came out with two regular patties which were void of any flavor. It was as if the raw patty was put on the grill with no salt, pepper or anything. Also, only 1 order of 3 fries were fresh and hot. The others were dried out and appeared to be reheated. Needless to say, only three of our party of 6 were able to eat their meal. All others were sent back and we declined re-makes because there was no confidence in the kitchen at that point. My party is definitely not the type to food back unless it's dire and unfortunately in the case, it was. Again, the waitress was nice and we appreciate her as well as it wasn't her fault that the kitchen had issues. The manager Nya (I believe) was extremely accommodating and apologetic. She listened to our concerns and acted promptly. Nice location and great space. However, the bar and kitchen left much to be desired.

Went back, was in the mood for wings and didn't feel like driving to Moosehead Grill (best wings, 5) so I walked to Duckworth"s. Took about 10 minutes before a server appeared, ordered 10 buffalo wings, extra crispy. It took a few tries to explain I wanted hot (spicy) wings. The menu says the wings are large, nope, absolutely average sized. They are meaty though so that's a plus. Asked for blue cheese and celery and got five celery sticks two of which were not fresh (celery noodles, lol) . The wings arrive in a bowl with a puddle of (I think) Frank's Wing Sauce at the bottom, not particularly spicy but not bland either. Overall a better experience than last time, but the indifferent service and five celery sticks keep my rating at three stars

I have been going to Duckworths (various locations) for a few years now and really enjoy it, so it is nice seeing them expanding their footprint.This location is set up pretty much the same as the other locations, large open dining area, large bar area with bar seating and several high top tables, and lots of TV's. Nice place, and keeps with the theme of the other locations.The service was good. Our server was attentive, and friendly. We were never left with empty beer glasses, and he was very well versed on the beer menu, with lots of insight on the offerings and recommendations of beers he thought we would like.The selection, like all of the other locations, is very good. 70 - 80 Taps of great beer offerings! I had a Hoptown Brewing Oktoberfest, and my wife had a DFH Punkin.The food is the same menu as the other locations. Decent food at a decent price. Pizza, Cheesesteaks, burgers, etc..., better than many beer centric places that I have been.Overall, this is a great addition to Duckworths growing list of locations

We selected this restaurant when staying nearby. The restaurant is in a modern, developing area of shops and residences. The restaurant was nicely furnished but not fancy. They offer table service. It was warm outside, and we sat in the outside covered area. We had a BBQ platter and grouper tacos for our entries. The platter came with coleslaw, fries, and garlic bread. They also had a decent selection of craft beers. The tacos came with chips and salsa. Both meals were good. Jessica was our server and provided great service.

Atmosphere was upscale spots bar. Food was good but the fish and chips portion was a bit small for the price. The server was nice but seemed new and in-exercised as far as the menu was concerned. Some better training of the servers would help.

While in town for training, I had two very pleasant dining experiences here. First one was on our first night, and the second was for lunch in the last day in town . Both experiences were pleasant ones and I'd consider returning whenever I'm back in Charlotte.

Today was the first time I dined at Duckworth's at Southpark. The service was great and the food was phenomenal. My friend and I split the chicken tenders, fries, and the summer salad. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious! I especially loved the gold sauce with the tenders and their fresh cut fries. I will definitely go back to this location or any of their other restaurant locations.

Amazing beer specials along with great service and good food. Thankful this place exists.

Excellent food and service!!! I our waitress Ashleigh did a phenomenal job!! Will definitely come back next time I'm visiting Charlotte!
