Drift On Lake Wylie

I'll be the first to say, I came here when Drift first opened and was not impressed at all. However, I finally gave them another chance and I'm so glad I did! Brunch was delicious!! We had a few orders of oysters, french toast, salmon caesar salad, and lobster benedict. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was outstanding. Shoutout to Bill and his trainee, they worked so well together to make sure we had a great experience and you could tell they took a lot of pride in the service they gave. 10/10 all around. Will definitely be back!

My wife and I decided to dine here for a date night. Caught an early dinner and the from the time we walked in and were greeted with warms welcomes and smiles it only got better. We were escorted straight to our table with no wait and were served water upon sitting. Our waitress Wendi was amazing. This was our first experience at Drift and so she took the liberty to express her favorites, customers favorites and walked us through the menu. We started with a wedge salad and fried Calamari frites. They were amazing, they had fried cherry peppers, and cauliflower to accompany the fried calamari. The seasoning was impeccable and the sauce that was paired with it was amazing.Our entrées then came, which were the crab stuffed flounder. Everything was cooked well and seasoned even better. There was an amazing balance of tasting the actual food and the seasoning that it was prepared with. We also tried the truffle fries (It comes with a garlic aïoli sauce, but we opted for the sauce that came with the fried calamari.) Overall, our experience was amazing and we can't wait to dine with them again.

Not sure who greeted us last night but the charm & warmth started there! Our waiter was attentive & came prepared to offer seasonal favorites. My favorite was the warm bread & the complimentary butter!Husband ordered the half chicken & I ordered crab cakes & a shareable broccolini. Both were yummy. However, the bread by far was my fav!Would revisit again in the summertime!

From the moment we drove into the parking lot I had high expectations. They didn't disappoint. The sea bass was superb and the little sweetness from the top jelly gave the meal the perfect combination of salty and sweet. We added a little lemon to the broccolini and it was absolutely delicious. I can no longer say that I don't like oysters. Usually the fishy taste is off putting but that wasn't my experience this time. The view of the water makes for the perfect location to enjoy my love ones. And the added bonus was my little own personal space heater to keep me warm during the very chilly evening. I could have not asked for a better staff that remained attentive and upbeat during our entire meal.

I had my birthday dinner there over the weekend. There was a delay with getting a table but the staff was more than accommodating and apologetic. They made up for it by bringing us a few delicious appetizers. Everything we ordered was great. Jeremiah was our server and he went above and beyond. Even gave me a special birthday song. They take reservations and split the checks! Great for large groups.

I booked a reservation on OpenTable (super easy!) for Thanksgiving. I spent the holiday away from home because of my job and this looked like the perfect place to treat myself! The restaurant is right on the lake. The views are beautiful, especially with the fall colors. The space is large and I was seated at a table where I could see the water.Because of the holiday, Drift had a special menu. I started with the Wagyu tartare. It was delicious! For my entree, I tried the prime rib which was also excellent. For dessert, I had the pumpkin pie. All of this paired nicely with the delightfully crafted Modern Fashioned cocktail.Everyone was friendly from the hostess to the staff bringing out the plates. My server, Brittany, was top notch! I would love to come back here one day for their regular menu and to bring my family who would really love it.Thanks, Drift, for making a hard day very special!

Beautiful location on Lake Wylie. Friendly service, clean environment. Chief struggled with cooking steak to the right temperature and with presentation when we visited. Great potential if this weakness is cured.

Loved the views! This was a popular place for brunch! I started with a cocktail. my old Fashioned was so so.... my server steered me wrong. The pour was tasty but extremely small. My steak was more well instead of medium. Fries were tasty. Server was kind enough to bring me a birthday cake. It was a bit warm on the inside of the building but comfortable. I'll be back for dinner!

I recently attended an event at Drift, a place I'd been eager to try since it opened. While the experience was a bit underwhelming, possibly due to the cold weather preventing me from fully appreciating the atmosphere, the staff truly shone. They were incredibly pleasant and made the experience much better. Unfortunately, having work calls between courses also impacted my ability to fully enjoy the meal. The event food itself was just okay, but the drink I ordered at the bar was absolutely perfect! The location itself is beautiful, and while I prefer their sister location a bit more, I'm definitely planning to return to Drift during the warmer months to get the full experience.

Beautiful views inside and outside. In addition to fresh scratch made food I love a clean comfortable restroom and attentive staff. There was plenty of parking and they accepted reservations on Father's Day and everyone was friendly. We didn't feel rushed to leave either. My advice to management is never serve food to the original table if it was delivered to the wrong table and returned to the kitchen. This happened causing our main course to be delayed as they re-plated or slightly warmed the food. Our waitress and 2 other staff members were very nice about explaining the mishap. However before they mentioned it we'd already observed our food pass by 2 other tables. They did provide ice cream and champagne to our table as well which was a nice thought. 2 of the 4 meals were warm at best (prime rib). Soon as a mentioned it to our waitress a hot replacement was delivered. This spoiled my experience because we should not have had to ask. Also the restaurant is semi indoor and outdoor so if you don't like mixing fine dining with flies beware. It was not unusual to see flies in a partial open air establishment on the water. I would give the place another try if I'm in the area again.
