DON'T EAT HERETo go only.Dinning room closed, probably forever.The interior is classic. It is 42 yrs. old.The hostess, order taker and cashier was very pleasant. But hard to understand.The rice was old, dry and tastelessly, Egg Roll terrible not crisp on and the greasy side, the mustard was mayonnaise with a yellow tint. my entrée Beef & Shrimp in Black Bean Sauce just sucked. the sauce was brown sauce with a few black beans. The fortune cookie was very good.

The food is always piping hot and handmade. not to be confused with frozen like those other chump Chinese restaurants where everything comes pre packaged. If you want AUTHENTIC service and Chinese Cuisine in statesville, this is where you go. I can't make Many suggestions because I like all of the food, but anything you order will be fresh, tasty, AND delicious. The ambience inside is reminiscent of another world.

Lost back in the corner of a dying strip mall. Nice friendly Chinese Buffet in a strip mall that lost their major anchor back around the first of the year. This place has been a fixture in this locatoin forever but with no traffic, not sure how much longer they can hold out.It's a shame because the staff is very friendly and as far as the buffet goes, a lot smaller than others in the area but the do a better job keeping it refreshed so the quality is a lot better. The Hot and Sour Soup was very good as was the meatballs and pepper steak. I do wish the would label the items on the buffet line so I know exactly what I'm getting.The atmosphere on the inside strikes you a busy and cluttered the minute you walk in but then as you study it, everything comes into focus and it's quite attractive. Nice atmosphere and with so few patron, very quite and intimate.Service is very good but what level of service do you need at a self serve buffet. My server took my beverage order and kept the hot tea full and every time I walked to the buffet, I came back to a clean table.Good basic food and during the week, the all you can eat lunch buffet is only $6.95

Prob the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Asked for a crab Rangoon, got a gross egg roll. The teriyaki sticks barely have any beef of it. Waste of $20

Miss the days of table service, but, I get it. Place has never let me down, has their own take on some things (scallion chicken isn't just sesame chicken with peppers), some real cantonese on here. Miss the Chicken in Parchment from when I was young.

Read reviews and gave it a try. Location is carry out only even though on the front of the restaurant it advertises lunch and dinner buffet. No problem, just wanted carry out any way. Ordered hibachi with chicken and shrimp. Picked up food and went home. Order was missing chicken and the shrimp and veggies were floating in so much liquid that alot had leaked into the plastic bag and was was a mess. Went back and got the dinner replaced with the correct order. Got home and the bag was full of liquid that leaked again. Decided to eat and the taste was bland, 4 shrimp over cooked, and several small shreds of chicken , and as indicated before the meat and veggies were floating in a liquid. I have no idea who is writing the other reviews. I would recommend any place other than this Dragon Golden in Statesville NC

Love this place and the Cantonese chicken and pretty much everything else. Just really wish they would open the dining room and buffet again. So sad that the world is mostly take out and ya can't just sit down at a restaurant and eat anymore.
