My partner, myself, and a friend of ours came here last night (12-30-23) to grab some dinner before the night ended, the food was amazing. Service was quick, attentive, and very sweet. The atmosphere was beautiful. Unfortunately there is a negative-ish part to this review.. I did not finish all of my food and requested a to-go box, moved the food, closed the box, left the restaurant and came home. Well this morning my partner asked to finish off my leftovers and I agreed, he opens the box for the first time since leaving the restaurant, eats most of what was left when he pulls what seems to be a small thin piece of metal (photo attached to review) out of his mouth after he chewed for a second. Not trying to make a huge complaint or anything but this is kind of a bummer since we all really enjoyed our visit there.

Upon pulling into the parking lot you'll notice a good crowd of people who frequent Don Ramon's. Once inside you'll notice the Mexican decorations and a full sized wagon wheel framed out in window above one of the booths, which bring out a nice flair for the restaurant. Our waitress was very quick to bring out chips and salsa for us to enjoy as we perused the menu. Going for lunch seemed to be only half the experience as the dinner portions and choices were generous. I ordered the Burrito California, a tasty combination of Mexican rice, Steak, Chopped onions, burrito, and queso blanco (hot melted white cheese). Service was good, as our waitress brought over refills on chips, salsa, and drinks throughout the meal. I would recommend eating at Don Ramon's the majority of the dishes are under $10 for lunch and a the dinner choices are few dollars more.

so the food was the best thing her and it wasn't all that great....So I had grilled shrimp in a spicy sauce, rice, salad add beans, it tasted okay together... not separately. salsa--no , margarita tasted like a watered down snow cone. Service was trash, I walked in and the caucasian lady at the register acted as if I was invisible--no hi , no just a sec, how can I help you .. nothing . I spoke to her after a minute or too and asked was it self seating. she replied i'll seat u in a sec........? so a guy comes up and offers to seat me. Got seated waitress comes up and says drink ? no greeting . I order. the same guy from before brings my drink and food. My waitress NEVER came back. I had to get up and get my own to go box as well as go get my own receipt to pay. first time in Shelby area --you couldn't pay me to go back.

Should be zero this place was disgusting...no flavor my 10yr old could fix better food. Proves the point small-towns have no true diversity or good cooks outside of Southern food. This place would not exist in a bigger city. Anyone who says this is good food i would never trust there taste.

Went with friends to lunch. . I was one of the last to pay. Manager added food charges to my bill becasuse he said someone ordered it so I needed to pay it. Told him it was not mine. Said still had to pay for it. There are much better mexican restaurants in Shelby to dine.
