Always wondered bout this place finally tried and came back the VERY NEXT week! It's that tasty! It's big and eclectic but sophisticated all at once so you can dress up or down and fit right in! One must try the Black Truffle Mushroom Pizza! It is amazing in a word! So far besides that I've only tried various salads which I enjoyed as well. The waitstaff is pleasant and accommodating and checks in frequently to make sure you have what you need! The food arrives pretty fast too!

I recently celebrated my birthday at one of my favorite restaurants, and I must admit, the experience left much to be desired. We had made a reservation in advance, excited to enjoy a special meal with friends. All of us ordered the steak frites, which is usually a highlight of the menu, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. To begin with, the steaks arrived cold, which was a significant letdown. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation, I expected better attention to detail, especially given that this was a special occasion. After bringing the issue to the staff's attention, our meals were reheated. However, the reheating process did not do the presentation any favors; the food looked hastily thrown onto the plates, lacking the care and artistry we had anticipated.Additionally, one of my friends faced a further disappointment when her steak was cooked incorrectly. She ordered her steak well-done, but it arrived medium-rare. While mistakes can happen, for a meal priced at $36 a plate, I expected a higher level of quality control and attentiveness to customer preferences.Overall, I felt let down on my birthday, especially since I had chosen this restaurant based on past positive experiences. The combination of cold food, poor presentation, and incorrect cooking left a sour taste on what should have been a celebratory occasion. I sincerely hope that this was just a one-off situation, as I would love to see this restaurant return to the high standards I once enjoyed.

So to start off my lady and I went here for Valentine's Day dinner. The reservations were great , 5:30PM but due to charlotte traffic we walked in a little late and they were still available for service, now the staff, they were kind, very helpful in time of need, our server was extremely helpful with the menu and choices he was well rounded, our only problem was identifying the staff lol they were all dressed casual, no uniform at all. I was convinced I could've walked in and walked straight to the back and nobody would recognize me as a staffer or a regular customer. The ambiance was smooth, lights dim for personal time and great entertain, I love a live music and they had two great singers for Valentine's Day. Now onto the fooooooodd lol I'll keep it simple.. starters were 8/10 we had the SPICY SHRIMP CRISPY RICE which was absolutely delicious and a side of CRUSTY BREAD, GARLIC OIL & BALSAMIC. Both were great starters. Our drinks of choice was there special HUG ME, CUTE STRANGER for Valentine's Day and ABANDONED CADILLAC, the drinks were 10/10 hats off to the bar tender he/she/they were absolutely amazing. Now onto the main course.. I had the PASTA BOLOGNESE, I'll rate it 4/10, I could've made that childish meal at home. You know that spaghettios commercial of the can that rolls down the street? Thats what rolled onto my plate, it was still good just childish to me and very much a snack , definitely not worth it $24 bucks. My lady had PEKING DUCK & SHRIMP FRIED RICE, she gave it a 3/10, it was extremely spicy to a point where she didn't finish her plate, just unwillingly planned to eat it later, definitely not worth $25 bucks, maybe ball park $18 worth of food I'll say from a good Thai spot. We finished off with desert with the MONKEY BREAD , it was absolutely delicious we gave it a 7/10 but it was a great way to end the dinner. Not to mention, when me and my date left she had forgot her food on the table in the to-go tray. I had literally walked her to her car around the corner before going back to try and get it, less than 5minutes they cleaned the table and threw away the food that she had barely ate BECAUSE it was too spicy. We were a little disappointed after that but nobody fault but ours leaving the food, just thought maybe after 5mins they'd keep it to the side or something, or maybe one of there casually dressed workers made sure he/she/they took it home after work, who knows. The overall experience we gave it a 6/10. Summary, the ambiance was great, the service was great, food was subpar in some areas, hated that they threw away our to go food without at least waiting I mean 5mins I wasn't even gone for 5mins. But the choice is yours if you decide to go, we probably would go back but only for drinks and appetizers.

Culinary Dropout offers unique and flavorsome cocktails and dishes, plus a fun and cozy atmosphere. My friend and I sat at the bar on a weeknight and it wasn't extremely busy but I can see that it likely gets packed. We each ordered a cocktail - Giddy Up Espresso Martini and Campfire Vibes. We both agreed that the Espresso Martini was one of the top 3 we have ever had. Outstanding! The Campfire Vibes was also tasty and very fall-like. I also had a Full Moon Party which was dangerously good and refreshing. We split the Spicy Shrimp Crispy Rice and loved it! Extremely flavorful and a nice portion (you get 4). I would love to come back and try more options. Definitely a must when in the area!

We were in Charlotte just for a night so we had to try a new restaurant!! Once you walk in you can feel the mood with the dim lights and candle top tables. Our gave some great recommendations and was very attentive! Food was good overall my fav were the wings and the Steak! Pretzel balls i expected to be more soft but they had bit of a crunch. Would definitely visit again! They have a nice patio that is lit up w lights would be perfect during warmer weather.

Fantastic! I read a review that had me skeptical about going here as they said it was loud, however they had live music and it wasn't loud at all. The space is super spacious plenty of seating and can handle any size party. The appetizers were amazing! We had the pretzel bites with foundue cheese as well as the spicy shrimp crispy rice. Both were good, however the crispy rice was the star! My table ordered 2 Peking duck and shrimp fried rice dinners and 2 Mongolian short rib dinners. The fried rice was eaten until the plate was clean! Fantastic! The short rib was drowning in sauce and was super salty. I definitely recommend less sauce if possible. Other than that we had a beautiful experience. Our waitress Hailey was very attentive. She took care of us and even brought a slice of cake for our birthday. We will definitely be back to try brunch!

I work in the area, and really enjoy this spot. I've been a couple times - with work groups for lunch, and on a date night. The atmosphere was really enjoyable -- the place had a fun, lively vibe and plenty of TVs, so it's perfect for catching a game or hanging out with friends. The patio is definitely a highlight, offering a nice spot to relax outdoors. The food was delicious -- the pretzel and fondue and the chopped chicken salad are my favorites! The menu offers a solid variety, and the portions were generous. However, the prices are a bit on the higher side.Overall, I had a great time and will definitely be back.

I was pleasantly surprised how large the inside is, seating is plentiful including outdoors. Brunch was good. However, my burrito could've cooked a bit longer for my liking and less salt. The cheese and pretzels were delicious! We had a very friendly waitress who handled a large table by herself very well. 7/10

We had never been to Culinary Dropout. We went Friday night and the food was amazing. Our server, Hailey, was so attentive and kind, she recommended the best cocktail. Our food was timely for how busy they were. Upon another one of our servers recommendations, I would definitely try the Feta dip they have. We will definitely be returning and requesting Hailey!
