I visited today with my little one. It was an attractive building in a former mill downtown. It looked like they had a good number of classes for adults and some for children as well.I was a little disappointed in their community-wide Halloween party. Their press release specified that children should be pre-registered for the party online; however, the software in use on the website would not allow for registration and gave no reason why when I tried to pre-register.I found out today that this was because the party was full. I found it strange that no mention of first come first served was mentioned in their press release, and their software did not specify that enrollment in the event was full. Maybe this was their first Halloween party for the community, and the kinks will be worked out next year. I think that since it is a party for pre-schoolers and an hour is about the attention limit for most preschoolers that they should split the party into two slots. For a two-hour event, that would give all of the kids in the community an equal chance to participate. It would also prevent kids from having to be turned away and disappointed as my daughter and several other young ones were today.

Thinking about going to the Cornelius Art Center? Read this first. In March classes were cancelled for my pottery class. I had been working on several pieces using my great grandmother's tablecloth as the design on the pottery pieces. I was so excited to get these done. The classes ended abruptly due to Covid and I have anxiously waited for the time when I could finish my work. For five months I have dreamed of returning to the studio to finish the berry bowl I was so proud of. It was to be a gift to my sister. I have two pieces drying, one piece in bisque fire and one going in the kiln for completion. I was emailed that registration for a NEW class, not my class, would begin on Monday starting with residents of Cornelius first. The class size is limited to four. The chances of my getting in are extremely low. I was told they would put my work outside for me to pick up. Work that cannot be completed in my kitchen! Work that cannot be completed anywhere. A waste. A complete waste of my time and money to have gone to Cornelius Town and Cornelius Arts Center. Cornelius is touting themselves as the art center of our three little cities but until they figure out you don't treat clients and students like this they have nothing. They are asking for donations to complete their project, @caincenterforthearts. Mark and I had consider the amount we would donate even though this is out of our area but not now! An art center for the community does not treat the community like this. There is nothing community about Cain Center for the Arts. In my phone call to them, I was told my work would be on the sidewalk and I could pick it up there. Thank goodness the Tackhouse has one to my dude to help me wit. my work. Run away from Cornelius Art Center as fast as you can. It's non stop changes and complaining from their students. #corneliusartscenter#caincenterforthearts#chadcain#townofcornelius#aquestabank#huntersvillenc#davidsonnc

This is a very cool loft-like space that would be excellent for any large event. Parking is easy. Location is convenient. I'd definitely check this out if I were hosting a small wedding reception or holiday party in the area. Apparently they host art and music classes for people of all ages, which sounds awesome. They also host art exhibitions at regular intervals -- local art is so cool! I hope to check them out again soon!

This place rocks. They have all sorts of art classes and C-Cimena which hosts film festival type movies. Also they often run with the place next door some art venues and art crawls. A really nice find having just moved to the area

Very disorganized. Tried signing up for a class several times when system opens for sign ups over the last year but always full. How can that be? I did it on the date and time of system allowing sign-up. Two days ago after a year of trying I thought I finally got in, sent electronic confirmation. Got a phone call today they overbooked class and I was out of luck. They told me they could make no accommodation for getting me in class even after it was their fault. This is a system I was told run by parks department who I was told this morning doesn't do such a great job.
