Copper Penny Grill - Lake Hickory

So much to love about the Copper Penny at Lake Hickory. In this order...1) The Brisket Sandwich and the French Dip Sandwich2) Excellent service by folks who care3) Fun space with lots of options of where to spend your time4) Cornhole (should that have been #1?)Keep up the good work! Wasn't sure what to expect but man we were really happy with our dinner! I had the Rasta pasta which has a Jamaican jerk flavored Alfredo sauce with chicken and penne pasta and I swear I could've asked for a cup of sauce to drink! (Jk- but really was super yummy). The garlic bread was also quite tasty! The service was equally amazing. We will definitely be back and hope to sit outside overlooking the lake!

I have dined here twice recently, once for lunch & once for dinner. For a quick run down: food is good, service is okay, and the ambiance is nice. I always enjoy a chance to eat by the water & there is plenty of indoor & outdoor seating available - along with an outdoor bar! I really enjoyed what I ordered at lunch, which was a Turkey, Bacon, Avocado Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. Our table devoured the Foothill Fritters which are Pimento Cheese Bites - definitely recommend! My friends also liked their Apple Walnut Salmon Salad & Blackened Chicken Wrap. When I had dinner, I ordered Parmesan Encrusted Chicken that was decent but I'm not sure I would order again. I had the same server at each visit & while we got our food as we ordered it each time, she was not warm or personable & she did not check on us often.

Service was abysmal. Non-existent. Every member of the staff was out of sorts, run ragged. Couldn't get a drink, a menu, heck even noticed. And ultimately never got a meal because "the kitchen lost the ticket". Way to screw up date night y'all.

Went for lunch. Food was really good and sec ice was fast. Nice ambiance on the water.

we love this place! I'm going to share why.... me and my boyfriend discovered this place a little over a year and a half ago. We've made it a point to attend at least once a month. as seen in the photos, we made some lifelong friendships here. We have also made it a point to meet up with these friends at the copper Penny, and enjoy drinks and good food!!! sometimes the service can be slow if they are working on one bartender or low staff, but honestly that is everywhere. The service has not deterred us from coming here. majority of the time it is really well and we have amazing servers!! I have never gotten a bad server there, everyone has been super friendly, and if they didn't know the answer, then they tried to obtain it. i've thoroughly enjoyed every food item I've gotten from here, I recently tried the boom boom shrimp tacos, which were a major hit. The salmon is an absolute five star, The quesadillas, and the burgers are to die for. if I had to pick one favorite though, it would definitely be the shrimp tacos!! we have attended on some music, bingo nights on Thursdays, Those are really fun. We also like to go on the weekends and enjoy the Lakeview, and whatever live music is playing.They have a good selection of on draft beers, I normally get a Moscow mule, whatever sider they have on tap, and usually their flight shots. I highly recommend this place, I absolutely love it and will continue to be going back!!!

I love this place & there service is off the hook as so is there food ! I will be eating there on Tuesday of this week if the lords will !

Just had another delicious meal at Copper Penny Lake Hickory. The prime rib was very good and so was the service.

Visited for the first time Friday, 4/5/24. I am impressed! Our waitress and the new waitress she was training were very nice and provided good service. Food was delicious! Tons of seating options, including outdoor seating, which I look forward to enjoying once the weather warms up. I'll be back for sure!!

Service and ambiance were great. I got the ribeye and it was maybe the cheapest and thinnest ribeye I've ever seen and overcooked. Honestly, it was so thin that medium rare may not have been possible. Luckily, I got the blue cheese crust on it so it was edible. My wife got a different cut that was pretty good. Sides and everything else was good. I'd go back for something other than the steak.
