I was in the SouthPark area and wanted something sweet. When I did a search, Copain popped up. It's in a plaza connected to Roosters, which makes it a little easier to find. There's plenty of parking close the bakery. It appears they also have a restaurant, but I didn't try it. I can't really speak to the service because I walked up to the counter to order. I have to admit I haven't been impressed by a lot of the bakeries in Charlotte, but I'm hard to impress when it comes to baked goods. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Copain. The bakery looks exactly like a little French bakery. There are a lot of options, including various breads and baked goods. I didn't try any of the breads but did get a chocolate chip cookie and salted caramel tart. They both were amazing! You can tell that they use quality ingredients in their baked goods. The chocolate chip cookie was undoubtedly the best chocolate chip cookie that I've had in Charlotte and I've tried quite a few! It tastes a lot like the Jacque Torres chocolate chip cookie, with just the perfect amount of chocolate and sea salt on top! I did order a brownie for my coworker, I tasted it and it was good, but wasn't great, especially compared to the cookie!

I'd give a 4, but my last experience was a little off putting with the staff. When I got to the front and looked at the drink menu it just had lattes with no flavors so I asked the flavors and the cashier very rudely said "the sign is over there". It was in a cluttered area and very easy to miss. I apologized, quickly picked a flavor and my husband paid, she handed us a number and just walked away. No customer service whatsoever. They brought our food out and we were still looking for a table because they were all so dirty and that same cashier was annoyed that we hadn't sat yet so she could just drop our stuff down and go, so we quickly sat down and she again just walked away with no words - and no utensils. I get up and ask another employee for utensils and they said, "it was in the front" and then gives us wooden utensils. I had been 3-4 times and always had gotten silverware. Weird eating an almond crossaint with a wooden fork, but ok.If you go just be ready and aware of everything you need to spot before making it to the register (seasonal drink options, silverware, napkins, possible seating options), because if you don't they will definitely point you to what you missed in a way that makes you feel foolish. I only write reviews like this in hopes the staff will see and treat people better next time, because its a really cute place and I bragged on it once and it's the second bad experience I had now. Also would love 16 oz drink options, please.

Most of their baked goods are average at best but we do love their breakfast breads. However, we made our very last purchase yesterday and will not support a business that clearly has no sense of humanity, leave alone customer service. I paid for four breakfast breads that I bought as gifts and asked for one of their thicker bags instead of the flimsy paper bag (because these were Thanksgiving gifts) which they grudgingly gave. As I was about to leave with the goodies, she tells me I have to now pay for one of the two bags. Why? Because her manager said so. Why just pay for one? "Oh! Because she will let me have one for free."These are their regular shopping bags, for heavens sake! I asked her where the price tag was and she said "it's just for holiday time so it's not tagged." I shopped with them for years and they pack their goods in these bags all the time. For free. How did a price pop up for them after I paid for my goods? Is that even legal - to ask a customer to pay for something after they have completed the transaction? I don't want to drag a business down the race/color path but I will always wonder if that's what it was. I can't think of another reason a business would randomly choose ME for charging to pack goods in a shopping bag. I can't say customer service is bad because it is non existent.

First time at Copain Bakery and I wish we would have found it sooner. Beautiful, quiet indoor garden setting located inside The Pavilion next to Roosters. They are family friendly with plenty of seating available. They offer are large variety of pastries, quiches, freshly made bread and other baked items plus hot and iced coffee and espresso drinks. There is also a large variety of merchandise available for purchase. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. Definitely a neighborhood gem that can't be missed.

Stopped by here last weekend to catch up with a friend and it was such a perfect spot for the occasion. We ordered our food and drinks and the employees were very friendly. They bring your order to you table which is nice because you're able to spread out to the common area seating areas as well. The place is decorated super cute and they have tons or items to grab for hosting or cooking at home which I loved. I only had a gingerbread cappuccino but it was delish and I'll definitely be back when I have more of an appetite to try their other menu items. However, my friend ordered the green tea and the turkey panini which came with a side of greens and she said it was delish! All the foods and drinks here looked very fresh and tasty. So cute and love the calm cafe vibes in here!

Found inside the pavilion, this spot offers a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. We ordered a brown sugar and cinnamon latte, chicken Caesar salad, pistachio éclair, and a Cuban sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and was clearly made with quality ingredients. The coffee was great, and the pistachio éclair had the perfect balance of flavor without being overly sweet. The salad was fresh but could've used more Caesar dressing. The Cuban sandwich had a good amount of pork, but I missed the bold mustard and mojo flavors I usually expect.Overall, a solid dining experience.

Walked in and was surprised by the amount of seating available in the pavilion that felt open air with the big skylights. Entering the bakery portion it was unclear which direction the line started and I didn't see a big menu to read but there were paper menus available near the register. I perused the pastry case and was impressed by multiple treats. They did have a couple gluten free options. The gluten free chocolate chunk cookie was clearly labeled GF. Then I saw a clearly labeled GF apple cinnamon bread loaf on the table in the center of the bakery. When I approached the register I was told the Apple cinnamon muffin was also GF but I didn't remember seeing that labeled in the case. I also ordered a latte. The GF cookie was delicious, soft and flavorful. The latte was good, the pumpkin flavor was very subtle so I would have liked a bit more. I brought the loaf home and enjoyed it later. It was moist and light and the flavor was subtle.
