Excellent supermarket. They have everything you need. We moved from Florida to SC and could not find all the Latin products we like. Compare has everything you need and more. Love the service and freshness of their products and the prices are reasonable. Take a tour.

The supermarket has a great variety of fresh produce, meets and seafood. You can find also products from Latin America and Africa. The interior is clean. Prices are a little high. I understand that things from outside the US should be a little bit more expensive, but I think prices are higher than they should be. Prices for local stuff are higher than other supermarkets chains. The exterior needs care. Customer service needs improvement. This supermarket serves the purpose of buying things that you might not find in other supermarkets, but other than that this chain needs to improve in different areas.

I absolutely love Compare simply because I can run there and purchase plantains and Yucca, and at the best quality as well!! They have a variety of produce, as well as Mexican snacks and candies. Check them out!!!

This place would not let a black woman and her young daughter in the store at the same time. But hours earlier I saw them letting in the Mexicans in groups of 2 or more.

This goes to the bakery inside this store. There's a lady with black hair (kinda looks like chuckys wife) her customer service sucks!If she sees that you're Hispanic/Latino she will NOT speak Spanish to them which is a really bad quality in a human being. I specifically told her to give me two "bolillos" but she's trying to look dumb and asked I'd wanted "three". How hard is to remember that?! Then she try's to steal my change!!! acts dumb And goes to the back to stop talking to me. I tried to call for her but she doesn't comes back until I ring a bell twice. Ask "what's wrong?" But she knew very well what was happening. I ask for my change but she stills pretends to not know what's happening. Then try's to apologize, like we both know what she's trying to do. Stop pretending! Fist of all she didn't even knew how to act like it was so fake. Calls the guy in charge of the money. He brings the money then she gives me all this BS. WE BOTH KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! She gives me my change but not just that she makes me wait a long time on purpose then she put back the money taking her sweet ass time and hands me over the worst, oldest and ugliest money/coins she had like what a rude cashier. She should get fired. If you go to this place please make sure you get your change back correctly cause they will try to steal your change or act dumb like it was an accident. Esto va a la panadería dentro de esta tienda. Hay una mujer con cabello negro (se parece un poco a la esposa de Chuckys) ¡Su servicio al cliente es es malísimo! Si ella ve que usted es hispano / latino, NO les hablará español, lo cual es una muy mala calidad en un ser humano. Específicamente le dije que me diera dos "bolillos", pero se hacía tonta y me preguntó que quería "tres". ¿Qué tan difícil ese? Después de eso me roba dinero y actúa como si no lo hubiera echo y se va para la parte trasera para dejar de hablarme. Traté de llamarla, pero no regresa hasta que toco la campana dos veces. Me pregunta "¿qué, qué pasa?" Pero ella sabía muy bien lo que estaba sucediendo. Le pedi que me regresara mi cambio correctamente , pero ella todavía fingía no saber qué estaba pasando. Luego intenta disculparse, como si ambas no supiéramos lo que está tratando de hacer. ¡Dejar de fingir! Llamo al chico a cargo del dinero. Él le trae el dinero y luego ella me da todo un show. En primera ni siquiera sabe actuar. ¡SABEMOS LO QUE ESTÁS HACIENDO! Ella me da mi dinero, pero no solo eso me hizo esperar mucho tiempo y a propósito, me devuelve el dinero, tomándose su dulce tiempo y me entrega el peor / más viejo y más feo dinero / monedas que tenía. Que cajeta tan más grosera. Ella debería ser despedida! Si va a este lugar, asegúrese de que les de bien su cambio porque intentara robarles su cambio o actuar como si fuera un accidente.

Compare is one of my favorite places to shop (not for meats though) and I've been shopping there since I moved to Charlotte (over 10 years ago). I love the produce. They have items you wouldn't find at Food Lion like hibiscus, tamarind, fresh aloe, many fresh herbs and more. I purchase salted fish to season greens and beans in lieu of pork. I love, love, love the restaurant. The oxtails are EVERYTHING !!!

I love this Compare Foods, it made me feel that I was in another country and living in Central America again. So much variety that you won't find anywhere else in Charlotte. The attached Dominican restaurant (Tapico???) was clean and had good service but the food was mediocre. I got oxtail that was pretty much just bone and small amounts of very tough meat. And the cheese empanada I got was rock hard and dried out in the middle.

My mom came here today and the cashier cheated $20 from her purchase. Mistakes made by cashier happened to me many times before but people at this location are terrible at handling issues. First off, the cashier did not show professionalism or responsible for the issue. They made us wait so long (~30min) and at the end it was a simple apology with no gift card, discount, or promise to be more careful (just something to show that they're regretful). We were the victims but I feel like they treat us with no respect.I understand that they have no college education and are not paid well. But that doesn't mean they're entitled to give bad customer service. They also did NOT return the item to us (we brought it there to show them to make it easier for them to trace, but they acted like we're scammers).I left work early today to relax but had to deal with this. You owe me $25 for the 30min I lost + gas. And you owe my mom $2.89 for her milk + tax.
