This is one of our favorite Latino supermarkets in town. This Compare Foods is conveniently located in a centrally located shopping plazas with its own free parling lot.Team members are corteous and helpful, which makes for a great customer service experience. Also, common areas are usually clean and the ambiance feels doverse and welcoming. There are many products from local spirces as well as other parts of Latin America with affordable prices.Overall, 100% recommended.

Out of all the Compare Foods this one is my favorite so far! Too badd is 30 minutes far from me and close to my house there are two other locations. They always have tropical fruits that you can only find there as passion fruit and star fruit. So good and so fresh! They also have ingredients from all over the place. Every time I need to prepare some specific dish I come here because I know they will have what I need!

Hello friends,This is the Old Winn-Dixie I think. I haven't been on that side of town for some time and was kinda surprise that it was more Compare. Very clean. Nothing different from any other Compare Foods. I will say this, that the parking lot seems small. I was much younger when I used to come here so maybe it's just the fact that I'm much bigger.. Who knows? LolGo enjoy,TTFN

we saw rotten tortillas when we walked in and another time there we bought chicken and when we opened the package it smelled so gross we didn't bother to even drive all the way back to return it we tossed right out! and I've never seen compare foods be at its worse till now, im disgusted. I don't know but if someone actually bought that with hard working money and ate it they would probably get food poisoning. we also saw some rotten vegetables and the sad part is they had a product called 'fresh young coconut' and it did not seem fresh it had a bit of rotting parts like is that really fresh and i usually dont complain but this is just so gross and unhealthy i am not satisfied with this madness of what is called compare foods at milton road.

Growing up in S.California, we had an abundance of Mexican candy everywhere. Sunland Produce, Mexican stores, gas stations, etc. But I was so sad to leave behind these spicy, salty treats. I looked a couple places for a variety of candies here in Charlotte, but I was only able to find a particular kind at Compare Foods. I've been here a couple times when they were selling 3 avocados for .99 cents!! At other places you may be lucky to get 1 avocado for a buck. Their produce dept is great, very affordable and many things you dont find anywhere else. p.s: They also have guava paste which goes so well with brie cheese.

OPEN ON CHRISTMAS!Yeah, gotta have that foil for the turkey. We checked web sites for several other stores in the area, and this was the chain that is open on Christmas Day. We've shopped here before, but not often. My daughter does shop here often, since she has a love of latino foods, and this chain caters to the local latino population. They have one of the largest selections of fruits and vegetables in Charlotte, and if you want fresh AND exotic, I'd try this store first. Their produce prices often beat the heck out of HT and FL and WM.The meat counter is a bit smelly... I don't know that it would be my favorite place to buy meat. I'm picky about that, since I once worked in a meat department of a BiLo back in the early 1970's between high school and college... Meat departments should have NO discernable odors. The rest of the store has the usual staples of a major grocery store, but with heavy emphasis on latin tastes. If you need rare varieties of beans, exotic spices, and fresh produce, they have it.OH, I almost forgot... They have a bakery that specializes in latino pastries! I'm not much of a sweet eater, but if that's your thing, the aroma will draw you over to that side of the store first...All in all, if you need an alternative to the mainstream American supermarkets, or if you need to shop on Christmas Day, give them a chance.

If you don't speak Spanish be careful at this location. I had a product at the cash register and it didn't have a price sticker on it but I made sure to check the price on the shelf. I told the girl what it was but she asked what looked like her manager standing near by and he told her something in spanish and when I looked at my receipt I was charged double for my purchase.

I was at Compare's last Sunday (1/3/10) I purchased a package of rotten chicken breast, according to the sticker in the package, it expires 1/11/10, when I open the package today(1/6/10) I notice a very bad smell coming from the chicken, I called the store right away and I was told by Mr. Gomez "Mgr", that according to the NC laws they are not to take item back since this was not purchased within 48 hrs. any other store would of taken care of this. I think Compares makes it's own laws.... please be careful when purchasing any kind of meat from this store, i know for a fact they will not see my face there anymore, the so call Mgr. didn't even apologized. Be aware my friends!!!
