In the back left corner of Optimist Hall sits Collier Candy. Not the best candy shop in the world and not the worst. It was a great ploy to get the kids eating lunch with a promise of candy to follow (yeah we have that parenting game handled!) As soon as the kids saw candy, they knew their intentions. After lunch we did head to Collier. They had an array of candy from some hand made sold separate candies to good old fashioned box classics. There were some reasonable prices and some unreasonable. What caught my eye... interesting flavored candy bars. Chicken and waffles, peanut butter and jelly, bourbon pecan pie, etc... At $4.25 a bar I purchased the bourbon pecan pie and I am glad I did. It's delicious! Bourbon- not my thing. Pecan pie-my thing. My husband even commented that he was surprised at my choice but I said it sounded good and after he tried it, he agreed.

We stopped here while we were waiting for our food from Zukku. It's a cute little classic candy shop. I wish it were bigger, but I'll take what I can get inside of a food hall. We picked up a couple of things including an Asian snack we were surprised to find here. I'm not sure I'd frequent this place because it's pretty expensive, but it's fun to browse while at Optimist Hall.

Located inside of Optimist Hall this candy store appears to be affordable as they strategically place the 25 cents candy up front but you'll quickly realize how expensive they are at the register. I purchased 3 pieces of candy which I'll post a picture of and paid almost 10$! Unfortunately, Charlotte is a city that THRIVES off overcharging for EVERYTHING! And sadly the locals LOVE being ripped off! I'm not from Charlotte so it doesn't sit well with me. I would NEVER return.

They will receive five stars for me for the sole fact that they sell lots of candy that I grew up on. I got me some now and laters and popcorn. My question is, that gigantic lollipop that they sell. If I ever buy that I will have to get a hammer to bust it into pieces to spread out to people. I'll probably be back to buy a bunch of junk that I really don't need.

The lady at the register doesn't seem like she wants to be there. She's literally just looking at me as I walk around the stall. No greeting and barely a bye after I purchased several items. Now normally if the customer service was horrible or barely noticeable, I would think, "well it's not like they need my business, cause clearly they don't care" and I would just leave immediately. But I really wanted to a few things from here and figured maybe with the partition and face mask she didn't think I'd hear here (some people aren't loud enough for all that). Again, anyone who reads my reviews will notice I'm not one to seek above and beyond; only the bare minimum (even a dry/distracted hi and goodbye will do).I noticed when someone else checked out before me she was a little more talkative and even managed to smile. Okaaaaay..On to the goods. This place is cute. I purchased some interesting candy bars. One that had bacon and potato chips in it. I also purchased some Pocky flavors I've never seen in other stores and some popcorn. Prices are kinda high (One candy bar was $4.25). If I'm seriously craving anything I just purchased, I'll just go to the source or seek out other means to get the product. If I go back, it'll be to look at what they offer so I can search elsewhere to purchase the product(s). I'd prefer not to feel uncomfortable while perusing a store/stall.
