Came here for their crab cake special and boy did it not disappoint! I wasn't sure what was going on when I walked in because I didn't see any signage and everyone behind the counter was busy. I've heard that these crab cakes are the best in Charlotte. I wanted to try and make it appear as if I was making something "fancy" for my mom's birthday and this was the way to go! They came frozen and individually wrapped so you could stick them in the freezer for a later date. I will be buying more next time they have their semi-annual sale. They are pricey but the amount of crab makes them worth it. Honestly, one crab cake SHOULD feed me twice. I say should because they are just too good to NOT FINISH! One thing I did notice while I was there is the freshly made sushi. It looks amazing and when I have time I'll be back to check it out.

Their crab cake is really darn good, but super expensive. They do not advertise the price of anything when you go into the store, so expect that it will be incredibly over priced. Like $65 per pound + for some fish and prawn. Like really really over priced.

If I ever win the lottery, I am going to buy every single meal from Clean Catch! That's to say... I love their selection but everything is pretty pricey. You get what you pay for though. Almost everything they offer is sushi grade - as in, you could eat it straight from the bag. We usually give it a good sear first, though. ;) The store is always spotlessly clean and NEVER smells like fish. (A good thing as a fish smell means the product is rotting.) The staff behind the counter are always very knowledgeable and friendly, making suggestions for the indecisive customers like me. While everything is good, my favorites include the monster scallops, tuna, crab cake and salmon burger. I wish I had a bank account large enough to try the arctic char!

So yes the Crabcakes have always been good here, though much better back when Charlie made them. The problem we have is that Bill (the owner) chooses to not display the prices and they randomly change each time we get them....progressively higher and higher. Today each Crabcake was $30. They used to be $16.99. Bill, what is the actual price you would like to charge for each Crabcake? And why don't you display your prices so everyone gets charged the same??

Really unfortunate experience. I called back in September asking for a quote for a backyard oyster roast and was told I would get a quote ASAP. Well, 2 weeks later, nothing so I called and was told Monday I would have it. Again, nothing so I called back Wednesday and was told Thursday and guess what still nothing. Finally told them today that I can't wait any longer and they were not apologetic or helpful.

I finally found the closest thing to a Maryland crab cake in Charlotte!! I was very impressed with the quality of their seafood offerings, and look forward to returning to try other items. I purchased 4 fresh crab cakes (6oz each), and could not wait to get them home.I followed their instructions to first sear the cakes, then bake them for 8-10 minutes and I think they came out wonderful.I look forward to going back soon.

Best fish store not only in Charlotte but prob in the whole Southeast. Excellent quality and beyond fresh. Prepared options excellent as well. Check out the frozen selection as well as there are some real gems in there, most notably the smoked sturgeon.. puts trout and salmon to shame! Really excellent stuff.

Can't be bothered to actually speak to a customer. You get a recording that sends you to a recording that instructs you they will only communicate by text. How about you communicate with the bankruptcy court? I'll take my business elsewhere to someone who cares about customers more than you.

I don't think I have been more shocked and extremely disappointed by an establishment. There are no signs anywhere in store for products / prices. I had to ask the worker what each fish was in case. I ordered 2 6oz pieces of fish (swordfish & red snapper) for a total of $65. I have never seen prices like this in my entire life. This is absurd and they should be ashamed that they are not only charging these prices but hiding it until the customer is at checkout. Leaves for a very very uncomfortable experience and I will never be returning.

Delicious and fresh tasting seafood at ridiculous prices...... I came here about 2 weeks ago to purchase their tiger prawn shrimp. I called the store first to make sure that they had it. The guy on the phone acted like he didn't know what "Tiger Prawns" were, even though they have it listed on their website. I said I am looking at your website and it says that you have tiger prawns, he said "do you mean the jumbo shrimp". Ummm sure, he says "yes we have it".I went after work and when I got there, the first thing I noticed was how all the seafood was beautifully displayed in the glass case and there was no fishy smell. I also noticed that there were no prices and nothing was labeled. But this wasn't a problem for me since the website listed the price so I knew how much I would be spending (so I thought). Their website lists the prawns at $44.99/lb but when the guy was weighing them out, he asked another guy what the price was and he replied $62.99. WHAT?????? So I ended up spending over $45 for TWO prawns. Now I understand why they don't have any prices listed in the store. They want to be able to just make up a price on the spot. This was my first and last time visiting this market. I will just order my prawns online in the future.
