What a Beautiful place. Incredible bar and staff! We enjoyed everything that we ordered from beets and roots vegetable to the risotto. And pork chop and tagliatelle Appetizers came out quickly but entrees took awhile. Place was crowded. Very nice spot! Highly recommended!

The service and ambiance were ok but the food was below par for the high price. The grilled cauliflower was good but the pork dish was very bland, lacked flavor and way under cooked. The agnolotti mushroom pasta was mediocre, dough was too thick and hard, and lacked mushroom. Not going back there any time soon.

Loved this place! I was in town helping out after the hurricane and saw signs on the side of the road. The menu was small but it all sounded great. My food was so good, drinks were yummy and ambience perfect for friends or a date night. Don't miss it!

First time to Hendersonville. My wife found clay wood online. Menu with several game choices . We booked dinner. Modern ambiance. Has several style boards . Entrees can be share "tapas" style . With that seating options vary from lounges to couches . There are also high tops and farm table. We opted for a table with a child of 11. The cheese board was plentiful for a small. We had 3 entrees which was likely a bit too much but there was so much we wished to try . We opted for lamb pops, bison sliders and pheasant sausage with gnocchi. All were a hit. They had huge wine and spirits selection but we had too far to drive home. Would definitely give the town and clay wood another go in the future

We tried Claywood for the first time last night and we will be back for sure. Food: A.We enjoyed every dish but the two standouts were the lamb and ravioli. The lamb was so tender and perfectly cooked. It was the best I've ever had. The ravioli (and all pastas) were made in house. The filling was a creamy ricotta that blew us away. The menu is smallish but well curated items to choose from. Ambience: A+ Claywood gets it that when you pay a higher price for a meal, you also want a spacious table and a modest noise level. They nailed it on this one.Service: A+ Despite being a full house on Saturday night, we were treated with first class service. Everyone working there cares about the customer experience and it shows. When one entree came out later than the others, staff apologized and took it off our bill. They really go above and beyond. Drinks: BWe had the Mocktails and while we appreciate the creativity, both need some work. The strawberry one was weak and lacked flavor. The lemon one needed much more sugar to balance it out. The bartender added more on request which made it outstanding.Dessert: A-We had the Mille feuille which was absolutely delicious. The portion is very small but packed with inspired flavors. Our only criticism is that the fillings were a bit soft for the feuille and squished out the side when cut. But the taste was amazing.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. I was worried as there are only about 5 main dishes- but we tried 3 of them and they were 5 star. As we know with buying groceries, food costs have increased and the prices accurately reflect the price of putting on a 5 star meal and experience.

My husband and I had another delightful evening at Claywood. The trout dip was delicious. The winter chicories is one of my favorite salads. The live music was perfect. Performed by Hope Griffin playing guitar with a wonderful voice. It is so nice that 7th Avenue is now fully opened and quite attractive. We need to return soon for the Thursday night Iberian board. It speaks well of Carly, the owner, that we see the same staff on each of our visits.

Good, yet overpriced, drinks with a nice atmosphere; continuously apologetic staff. Overbooked, so kitchen could not prepare meals for four guests & serve together. One diner left without food, until all other diners finished their meals. Salt content over the top! It could be lovely, but overpriced based on flavors and service. Great try, but $15.00 per cocktail & our waitstaff also bar-tendering--that's a no darling.

i was really disappointed in the food selection and quality of the food as wellnone of it tasted good for one thing. there was no main menu i felt i could eat and im not a picky eater. so i ordered two appetitzers the squash and cant recall other one as it was last week i was there. the cocktails were way overpriced as was the apetizers. my friend eating with me felt the same way we will NOT go back. the ambience was only thing nice yet they sat us right across from the area they were cooking in so we did not get to enjoy the atmosphere either.

When you walk into Claywood, everything is exactly the way you want it in a home town bar and restaurant. Carly the owner is out working the floor talking to customers, staff smiles are abundant, the bar stock and a truly gifted bartender are way beyond expectations, and the food that comes out of Chef Tory's kitchen is both beautiful in presentation and delicious on the palate. On top of all that, Claywood has just a comforting atmosphere in which to enjoy your favorite beverage or have the pleasure of a wonderful meal. Have a large group? No problem! There is a beautiful room at the back of the restaurant that provides both the size and the privacy you want when you need a venue for a special occasion. We go there frequently and have never had anything but the best of experiences. If you haven't ever been to Claywood, I encourage you to make a reservation soon. If you have visited the restaurant, you know what I am trying to communicate so, go back and give your business to local owners of this local establishment soon!
