CJ's BBQ

Just found this little bbq place on a random trip up the mountains and we were pleasantly surprised! Great BBQ and the blackberry and raspberry bbq sauce was delicious! Definitely worth a stop if you're in the little Switzerland area!

Well after all that driving and walking on Saturday, Tony Vanoy saw the sign for CJ BBQ in Spruce Springs so we decided to stop.The aroma was overwhelming when we arrived and entered the building, so glad we decided to eat here! It was 12:45pm and we were both starving!We decided to share a Platter and choose 3 meats & 2 sides...Pulled Pork, Ribs & Smoked Sausage with Onion Rings and Baked Beans with Hush Puppies and we both ordered Sweet Tea....the waitress gave us a free piece of a Apple pie they made fresh and just out of the oven.The food was great! Loved loved loved the pulled pork and baked beans. Highly recommend

Tried it for the first time tonight and the BBQ was excellent with Collards, Green Bean, and Cole Slaw! Service was spot on and friendly !

Tasty pulled pork, needed a tiny bit of bbq sauce, great sides, especially the sweet potato fries. They "don't have mac n cheese today" all 6 times out of 6 that I've been here, so don't get your hopes up on them having it. Good menu, good amount of seating inside, everyone was very friendly except for 1 employee. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu, because I just keep ordering the pulled pork every time because it's so good.

Walked in late, but was not left wanting..... waited on by one of the owners and had a peaceful, tasty meal that did not disappoint. Did not take a pic of the "Hog Rolls" app of Carolina Gold pulled pork, cabbage and cheese; deep fried in the traditional egg roll wrapper! Got to try. I was unsure at the description and after the first bite was sorry I had to share. This is a must for the Mitchell County area.

Good BBQ , Decent value. Nothing spectacular to look at. Good service.Check hours before leaving.

We found this little gem while looking for a local place to get some lunch from on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I wish I would have taken pictures of our food, but let me tell you, you HAVE to visit this place whenever you are in town.I was a little hesitant at first when I saw other reviews mentioning that the food was a bit pricy, however, I am from Ohio and I found the prices to be way more than reasonable! Especially for how amazing the food was!Food Review:One of the best BBQ places I have been too, both back home and while traveling. We ordered the Hog rolls, pulled pork, and half rack of ribs. You could tell the meats are smoked very well - they had amazing flavor. The pulled pork was very flavorful and moist. The ribs absolutely melted off the bone and were very flavorful. Probably some of the best ribs I have had! I love that their sauce was on the side, and they had a wide selection of sauces to try! The original & Carolina gold were my favorite. For sides, we got baked beans, potato salad, and sweet potato bites. The baked beans had amazing flavor - they were seasoned very well and tasted very good. The sweet potato bites were to die for. The potato salad was also very fresh and flavorful! The appetizer of the hog rolls were also huge and very tasty! Also - portion sizes were great! I thought it was a great value for the portion and QUALITY of food you received. In my opinion, I thought the food was a little under priced for what you get, but you cannot beat the quality and freshness for the price!Service Review:The staff were amazing. Very friendly, attentive, and very personable. They were honest with menu recommendations and they did not steer us wrong! 10/10 - will be back every single year we visit the Blue Ridge Parkway!

Traveling through area and passed this place. Decided to stop as we're trying as much bbq as we can during n/s carolina road trip.So glad we did. Got rib plate (with beans and mac&cheese) and brisket sandwich. Brisket sandwich was pretty good but ribs were amazing. And the mac and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. Did I mention the sauces? At least 10 different types. All we tried were good. The best thing about this place? The staff. Super friendly and beyond attentive.I may not be back this way, but do yourself a favor and show CJs some love.

A little expensive, but real smoked BBQ! Try the smoked ribeye or baby back ribs. Or both. Family owned and operated, great service. Family friendly.

I enjoyed this small-town BBQ Restaurant. I had the brisket plate and it was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try other things.
