I go to Charlotte sometimes, much like the cure. I have seen the bad side of Charlotte and I have seen the Good Charlotte. My conclusion is that girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money. And lifestyles of the rich and the famous. If money is such a problem, well they've got mansions, I think we should rob them. Now on with the review.I have mixed feelings about Charlotte. I had a pleasant time in the city on my most recent visit, and found some nice food places, but I had two cats with me so it was a little stressful. They seems to like the city just fine. It's been cleaned up a lot, and the hipsters are starting to take over. It definitely looks like the most hipster City in the Carolinas that I have seen so far. But that is a good thing because with hipsters come (not like that, silly), they bring a progressive element which every city should have. Charlotte looks modern and like it's actually getting somewhere. It still has a lot of racial tensions (but then which city doesn't), and still doesn't appeal to me to the same degree as the triangle area. But I will come around in time as I did with Cleveland hopefully. One major negative to me is nothing to do with the city itself. Being a very flirtatious touring musician who used to stay over in any spare room that was offered when I didn't have any money, means that I have had more than a few abusive experiences where I've been taken advantage of. It's not something that bothers me too much. But my friend of many years who lives here in Charlotte did something to me that could have had him end up in jail. Just because I trusted him and so he knew he could get away with it. It's hard not to associate this city with him but I will try to separate the two.As for the food have only recently started finding some really great stuff around here. Such as the wonderful Viva Chicken and the cute Little Village Grill.

I found this city to be poorly lit, work in progress, detours, growing and to that you add rain and makes it for a bad experience. Traffic is bad and drivers are not, are not nice. Encountered too many people cutting in front of me, honking and just rude, almost like a city up north famous for all that. Not impressed, maybe it was the cold and the rain plus the Holiday traffic so maybe at another time I will get to experience something different, for now two stars is the most I can rate this city

Queen City! A true name that describes Charlotte so flawlessly! The city of Charlotte ended up being the many cities that I fell in LOVE with! Honestly, the murals alone around the City is enough to grab my attention. How did I possibly think I was going to make my way around the City in less than 2 days? There are SO many talented people that have such a wonderful imagination and remarkable creativity, this is truly what gives Charlotte such a wonderful name. During my recent road trip with my best friend, we decided to check out Charlotte, North Carolina to finally mark it off our bucket list of states. It was such an experience to be able to check out the many murals around the City. You can find a list of them here: https://www.charlottefive.com/talking-walls-mural-festival/ But my all-time favorite murals were: Tip Top Market by artist Scott Nurkin; based in Chapel Hill: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/city-of-charlotte-charlotte-2?select=egQvGbO0dwm4ESykVLJnTA ANDThe Charlotte Mural: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/city-of-charlotte-charlotte-2?select=76fMe6n6k0183d3wyFL3Mg Location: 2902 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205The hotel we stayed in: Comfort Inn Executive Park--Not bad to say the least. The location was decent and the bed was HEAVEN! The Bars to check out: * The Punch Room* The Cotton Room* The Crunkleton * Infused Late Night Eats? For the win? Midnight Diner! It's open 24 hours/7 days a week and is the SPOT for after the bars and clubs end! I truly enjoyed my meal and people watching while I was here. A day in Queen City: 1. Take a picture in front of the Metamorphosis-Giant Head- David Černý, the Czech sculptor of this interesting piece. 2. Stop at the Midtown Park to take a picture in front of the Chicago Bean3. Breakfast: 7th Street Public Market4. Visit The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts and culture5. Check out Ninety's Ice Cream for the Milkshake6. Lunch: Price's Chicken CoopI have a sayin' that I don't usually go back to the same City more than once unless I really, REALLY like it, and well, Charlotte is a City that I can do over and over and over again! I'll definitely be back sooner than later! (Smiles)

For my 1464th review of 2016, I'm reviewing my city that I love. The city I have called home for eight of the last ten years (the other two were a temporary posting to the UK). I've also lived in lots of other places. Charlotte is my favorite. I am proud to call Charlotte home.We have a world class airport. We have a varied base of employment including banking/finance, transportation and technology. Our taxes could be loser but our average income is high. We have a great football team (well, they were great before they collapsed this year but they'll be back) and a reasonable basketball team. We have the NASCAR Hall of Fame and a beautiful Uptown. Our skyline is striking. We have a light rail, though it doesn't yet go to the airport. We have a terrific climate with all four seasons well represented.Could Charlotte be better? We could use some more museums. We could use some better public transportation and many of our surface streets get tied up with traffic easily. But the people? The people are great! The food culture is great!1464 is a special number. Yes, I wrote 1464 reviews this year. 366 days in the year 2016 and when you've averaged 4 reviews a day, that's 1464. Whee!

While I use to loathe everything about Charlotte in my youth I have done a 180 so to speak. Still hate the parking still hate the traffic and the aggravation of rush hour. Do enjoy the almost unlimited food options from Futa Buto's delicous ramen to Amelies wonderful croque massours don't mind my spelling blame the education system. Then the breweries have really hit the mark on the east coast style ipas particularly DDH ipas from Resident Culture to Heist the current trend. But are oldies but goodies BirdSong and Noda still keep up with current trends and have a unique style of their own with many releases coinciding food trucks. While we're are on beer let's not forget Salud a one stop shop for everything beer in Charlotte a ever changing magical tap list. Charlotte has begun one of my favorite day trip spots for food and drinks and the occasional viewing of art.

Beautiful city and what greater time than the present to conjure up a review; with the city's NFL team starring in tonight's Super Bowl Sunday. That's right home of the mighty Panthers, as well as NBA team Hornets, NASCAR Hall of Fame and that extraordinary tourist magnet; the Epicentre. Although this southern city is established and has many great things to offer it is still on the rise. I'll bet money Charlotte is most known to youngsters by the popular "Carolina Blue Jordan sneakers". I am excited to see how much Charlotte evolves over the next decade...starting with Uber.~Christy

Charlotte is a great place. The food is excellent, and everyone I encountered was very nice. My big disappointment about the city is that no matter where you go, it's a dump. Trash garbage everywhere it doesn't matter if you're going down residential street or if you're in the main part of downtown. There is garbage everywhere !!! Unless you're living in the neighborhood that has $500,000 houses! APPARENTLY NO ONE IN THIS CITY CARES ABOUT LIVING IN A GARBAGE INFESTED CITY

I'm in Charlotte for a conference at the Convention Center and staying at the Doubletree 6 blocks away on College. It's 1 am on a Saturday/Sunday and the noise in my 14th floor room is deafening. The nightclubs nearby blare music from their outdoor spaces. Plus, they draw a parade of vehicles whose engines and sound systems are designed for maximum roar.It is extremely poor urban planning to locate the night life in the midst of the hotels. I would think twice before booking a convention or weekend in Charlotte.

Idk why I pay taxes to a city that doesn't respond when I call for emergency services. Why bother call 311, when it takes police 30 minutes to respond. Gonna start telling them worse situations for faster responses.
