China Cafe

This place has really great food. Not only am I a Chinese food aficionado (that ate Chinese food for at least one meal a week in San Francisco, and Later New York), I've also eaten a lot of Chinese food in China. China Café is authentic and reliably good. They have a large menu, and will adjust dishes to your liking. Best Chinese food in the upstate. Anyone who says different doesn't know.

We've mostly had good experiences with them since we moved to the area 7 months ago. The pork lo mein left a little to be desired because the pork was so tough and a little dry, but the shrimp egg rolls were good. I really love egg drop soup and the one they serve is just okay. We normally get the Chef's Special Sesame Chicken and we are always pleased with it. My kids love it and we always have leftovers if we order 2 of those for our family of 4.

We were visiting from out of town and needed a quick take out meal. Craving some stir fry, we decided to do an online order from China Cafe. In the past, the fun of dining on Asian American fare was the ability to order a variety of entrees for a relatively low cost. Unfortunately, many places have stopped offering pint or quart portions of the meals, so you are forced to order full sized selections. The house mei fun was well executed, but no way did it command a ten plus dollar price tag. There were plenty of mild sesame flavored rice noodles but not many vegetables or proteins. That's pretty typical with this rendition, but it just seems strange you cannot order this in a smaller size. Surprisingly though, the Chinese five spice pork strips included were tender, not shockingly red in color and actually ate like meat. (Unlike the crusty dried out pig cubes most restaurants add). The house fried rice was available in a pint, and was probably the best dish we had. The vegetables and meats were super fresh, flavorful and plentiful. The rice was still soft and almost slightly creamy which was a stark departure from the often dried out versions you may find elsewhere. The Kung pao combination had a surprising amount of sauce, but it was overwhelmed by the predominant flavor of soy. The shrimp, chicken and pork were tender, and the vegetables still had a slight crunch. If I lived in the area, I would definitely give them another try. Sometimes it's just about finding the right menu items to order.

Arrived at 9-9:10pm. Closed early, all cars gone. Open till 9:30pm on window. So they must have been closed for the past hour at least to be gone already. Enough said. Customers won't visit when they can't stay open when they're supposed to and just open and close whenever they want to. I may try again later, or may not.

Best roast pork with vegetables I've ever had! Excellent food and service. They have a large menu to choose from.

We absolutely love this place. This has been our " go to" Chinese restaurant since we moved up here! We always order the mixed veggies and General Tso! Also love the egg rolls

The Hunan chicken and the crab ragoons were good, the egg drop soup and noodles were just okay. The staff person was not very friendly. We had planned to dine in but after the owner's child's behavior we changed our minds and got it to go. He was hitting all the tables with a metal rod. It was so loud it made us jump. I asked him twice to not hit our table and he did it anyway. So we told them we couldn't stay and to change our order to togo. They still did not make him stop. He then got out a stroller and was running it into some men that were sitting down waiting for their food. The owners continued to not make him stop. If we hadn't already paid we would have just left without it. We do not plan on going back here again. We shouldn't have to take abuse from a little child. It was totally unacceptable. We would definitely not recommend.

The food was good, they have a good selection of food and sauces. The problem was the actual place. I'm guessing it's a family working there. So many toys all over the place and the floor. The wait it so incredibly long. I ordered a single thing and got it 30 minutes after I called. I would recommend another place if you're looking for something quick. Other than that it tasted ok, nothing was off putting about the food like some of the other reviews said.

Soo many bad reviews about the food tasting bad, the reason why is that they take food from the aldi dumpster in the back. Happened to witness them taking produce out of the dumpster. Most definitely they are cooking and selling this to there customers. And you wonder why it taste bad? The health inspection needs to be called out and inspect this restaurant and shut it down. Do not eat at this place!!!

First time ordering from here. I am very impressed by the food. Reminds me of fantastic new York Chinese take-out.
