This is a beautiful vineyard. Worth the trip! Me and friends went for a wine tasting and Lori was awesome. We left with such a great understanding of Childress Wines. The tasting consisted of 6 wines from a select list. Lori educated on the grape, the harvest, the process time, the tannins, the food pairing before making our selection. If you don't know what to taste, she will offer great choices based on your pallet. The Vineyard is grand, really pretty. We did not take a tour, but I will return for a tour. They have a bistro, a wine slushy bar, and a store. If you go for a tasting, and not hungry for one of the charcuterie boards they offer you to purchase with the wine tasting, you can get a small charcuterie board from the store for $19.99 and under based on size. The one for $19.99 w/olives is sooooo good!We had an amazing time!

Attention wine lovers! Please add Childress Vineyards to your list immediately Beautiful grounds maintained to perfection. Various wine options from their popular Sangria to the also popular white and red wines. This is my second time visiting, the first was for their grape stomp. That was an experience (I'll probably stick to just drinking the wine) Second time was for their vineyard tour. Excellent way to see the behind the scenes and understand their process from grape to glass. Bo plan to return for the wine tasting and Sunday brunch. Make reservations for those in advance. Cheers

My mother-in-law and I went to a bridal luncheon at The Bistro at Childress Vineyards. First of all, the property is grand and beautiful. The Bistro was big and roomy; because of all of the windows it was bright and cheerful. We started with mimosas of course. We had the Mimosa flight which included orange, pineapple, grapefruit and cranberry. They were very good. We had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts for the appetizer. They were crispy and the sauce with it was yummy!!For lunch I had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken and sweet potato waffle fries. Those were the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. They were sweet with a touch of salt!! The salad was crisp, the red onion added additional flavor and the chicken was well seasoned. I loved it!!My mother-in-law had the Duck Soup and the Short Rib Dip. She said the short rib was so tender and the dip had a wonderful flavor. Unfortunately, we didn't order dessert because we were stuffed but we will definitely be returning. Oh yea, our waitress Dani was the best! She explained the dishes well and was very friendly.Almost forgot about the wine slashes. It was pretty warm that day so I had the Strawberry mango wine slushy and she had the red sangria slushy. Another reason we will be returning!! Cool and refreshing!!

From the food, to the service, to (most importantly!) the wine, Childress doesn't miss a beat!

I have to say, their wine is yucky. Over the years, I've tried the peach, Moscato, and strawberry wine -all too syrupy sweet, the red blend 3 is basically what you might get at Dollar General. Did another brunch meeting today; because the people that live in Lexington like to meet there. The only good thing here was a Rosé Mimosa. The chard just makes the head feel woozy but not in a good way. Our meal was very " eye-roll" dry and bland, we realized it was items from Food Lion across the street. You're paying for the setup and backdrop which is land that used to just be a red-mud corn field. Through a family member, we know Childress orders the wine in bulk (probably Duplin from the taste of it) then adds flavors, coloring and a little carbon, then puts a CHS label on it. Yes, go for the music, events or prom photos but eat before you go.

First time coming here and I must say I was very shocked at the ambience of the whole place. Great views of the lake there is a bistro near as well if you would like to partake in a meal after having a bottle of wine. Their apparel store was very nice with a wide variety of things to choose from hats to jewelry. The wine itself was great you have several options of wine flights to choose from so you can sample and try a few wines you might have not had before. The staff were very helpful and friendly would definitely recommend giving this place a visit.

We had a lovely visit to Childress Vineyards on a Saturday afternoon. First, we did an early check in at the Holiday Inn Express which is connected to the vineyard via a walking path.We walked to and from the vineyard which is a nice option. I would not suggest walking in heels or anything of the sort. The path could use some maintenance. Some parts are overgrown with weeds. One of the small bridges is in need of some major repairs (see attached photo). The wood is soft and bouncy and it is missing boards. We had made a reservation at the Bistro so we headed there first for lunch and a tasting flight. Our server was very personable and informative. We each ordered a flight of wine. My husband did a red flight and I did the sweet wine flight. We shared a meal (sliders) and it was just what we needed. We purchased another bottle to take and share while we sat on the grounds. The view was lovely and we enjoyed our time. We sat outside and then also inside to cool down a bit. We purchased some chocolates from the chocolate case which were delicious. The gift shop is large and we purchased 3 bottles to take home with us.It was a very enjoyable afternoon and we only wished it stayed open later in the evening so we could enjoy the beautiful sunset that we saw from our hotel room.

Absolutely stunning winery, and so spacious! Try and go during November or December to enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations. There are several things to do on property from 3 different tastings to flights to live music to two separate dining experiences. The tasting bars are huge! I thoroughly enjoyed the gift shop with tons of unique gifts, something for everyone! The staff is also extremely kind and welcoming, especially Deana who made us feel right at home. Outdoors is beautiful with many tables featuring built in fire pits/heaters. I can't wait to come back here and try more wines. Highly recommend!

A vision for a vineyard and wine production and 100 acres near his home town was the recipe for fulfilling former NASCAR driver Richard Childress' dream. While many options are available to enjoy at the Vineyard, my family chose the 45 minute walking tour that included a plastic cup partially filled with one the Childress Sauvignon Blanc wines. Our tour guide, Gail, spoke knowledgeably about the history, the wines, the process of wine making, and the future plans. She also displayed a good sense of humor and wit that we all enjoyed. Wine tasting packages are available, starting at $35, and available straight ahead inside. The store and additional wine-tasting area are located just to the right inside and includes a fantastic selection of wines. Memberships are available and member-only spaces are clearly designated. With a 35,000 square foot presence, the lodge can play host to events and receptions. Located by I-285 and with a Holiday Inn Express onsite, Childress Vineyards has made it easy to enjoy their wines and even stay awhile if you choose.

What a beautiful and spacious vineyard. We came on a Thursday and the place was nearly empty. At least it was outside. We ordered a bottle of wine and enjoyed it overlooking the pond. It was beautiful to see the changing colors on the vines. Gas Fire pit seating is available for $10 per hour.
