Not the worst tacos I've ever had but also not the best. I ordered 2 chicken tacos but they mistakenly made them as beef. Getting it corrected was no issue. Unfortunately when I sat down to eat, I was a bit disappointed in the food but it was okay enough to eat.

I have been so bothered by the unacceptable pricing of some food trucks in the Charlotte area. There is no reason for a few small bites of food to cost $11! Luckily, Chilaka Tacolab is a refreshing return to the nature of food trucks. Their absolutely delicious tacos are only $2 a piece, which means that you can be completely stuffed for only $8 or reasonably full for $6. :)The tacos are authentic style with double corn tortillas topped with a simple meat, onion and cilantro. To keep things interesting, they throw in some fun pickled veggies and fresh veggies on the side. (The pickled veggies are delish!) I think this is a nice touch that they didn't need to do, but do anyway because they have pride in their product and like making their customers happy.I will definitely be chowing down on some tacos again, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. :)P.S. I liked all the meat options, but the carne asada (grilled steak) was definitely my favorite.

After getting inedible barbecue from Rock Store, I was fortunate enough to see this food truck roll up to the bar I was at. I got an asada and a pastor taco. These are traditional Mexico tacos that you can eat in a bite or two. They were pretty good, and you really can't beat the price ($2 each). The service was fast, and the food truck looked thankfully clean (sometimes they're not the best...). I was also pleased to see that they accepted credit cards. Obviously, with a food truck, you're not getting tons of ambiance, but this made for a decent lunch while throwing back a few beers at our local.

Found these guys over at Camp North End this past Friday night. My party ordered steak tacos, carnitas tacos, al pastor tacos , chorizo tacos, and a gordita with asada. These were pretty authentic tacos on corn tortillas with just some onion, cilantro and a sprinkle of cheese. They were served with a lime wedge and pickled vegetables. Very good, very solid tacos. The customer service was top notch and all that food, which was enough for 3 people, was only $28! As some one who tries to eat paleo, even though the tacos did have some cheese, this food truck was a great option. You don't feel like you have to miss out on the food truck foods and everything settled really well. They had other options such as burritos and quesadillas but we didn't sample those. Would definitely recommend trying them if you see them around.

I love this taco truck. I'm a California native and it's been so hard to find authentic Mexican food since moving to the Charlotte area. Chilaka Taco Lab is my favorite yet. The service is fast and friendly, at $2 a taco the pricing is reasonable, and the sanitation rating is 96.5 as of today! But the food... flavorful, delicious, mouthwatering. The hot sauce will knock your socks off. Now that I know where they park we will be sure to be back. I should add - the address on Yelp is incorrect. They're parked at 11223 Blair Road in Mint Hill, M-F, 9-3. You can also find them at local events and breweries on the weekends. They aren't great at social media, but be patient - it's so worth it!

Seeing this truck made me immediately want legit street tacos so I went with the fish tacos. This was my first time with this particular food truck and I was not disappointed. It took a bit of time but was well worth it and was piping hot. Extremely fresh tasting. The green sauce was delicious and really had a kick. The real heat came when I chomped into the pepper that came with it. It wasn't long before I had hot happy tears.

Chilaka Tacolab came to a music festival I ran. They showed up two hours early and were able to serve the bands before guests started arriving. The food was amazing and affordable. Everyone I spoke to at the event raved about it as well. Highly recommend for any event.

My company brought this food truck in for us for employee appreciation and it was so yummy! I got the steak and cheese burrito no beans! It was so tasty! I will have to find them again and eat it!

As a Californian transplant to Charlotte, I've struggled to find authentic (or even tasty) tacos since moving here. I was thrilled to discover this truck which I can happily say is both! I tried the tacos with Al pastor, Asada, and lengua. All three were wonderful, though the Al pastor, which has pineapple chunks mixed in, was the standout. They are small so you'll want a few, but for $2 each I'll happily be back!

Based on the reviews, I had high hopes for this food truck. Maybe they were having a bad day? Not sure. Tried three of their tacos on a Friday night at camp north end. Had the steak, Al pastor, and the combination of steak and al pastor. They were all a disappointment, especially the steak one which is what they recommended as the best one - it just tasted like boiled steak. My friends had the nacho fries and they were just okay. Overall, the food just lacked flavor.
