I tried the seafood mac & cheese and it was absolutely delicious! Everything from the sauce to the different pieces of seafood was prepared with love! I will be ordering it again!

I'll be careful on this first review tho first impressions of this place had very mixed feelings. The restaurant itself was nice. You can tell they are going for a upscale vibe. The decor and tables are all reaching for a higher class feel. The problems I had were critical feels regarding things that could have & should gone better. I was prepared to see a big check out bill. That wasn't the issue. When we arrived there were 5 patrons in the entire place . One table of 4 and one guy eating at the bar. We were seated at a tiny two seat table that was barely big enough for anything besides a drink. Granted if the place was full I would understand but when there are 4 people using one table.... Our waitress moved us once we asked. On to the food. The hubs ordered their largest steak. The menu says it's a ribeye. We were served a New York strip. He asked for medium well but it was well done. Sooooo over cooked. I ordered the pan seared sea bass with asparagus & rice. My asparagus was wilted and over cooked and the Parmesan rice was overwhelming so much cheese that it was hard to eat. My frustrated husband did show the waitress that his steak and my asparagus were both over cooked. I didn't want to wait for a redo because the meal took over 40 minutes to be served to our table. After several apologies and stories of only one cook showing up to work, our waitress did send a new plate of asparagus. And she gave us a dessert to help ease the issues. All in all I'd say good luck with this place. I'm giving them 4 stars cause they're new and trying. I am hoping all this won't be your experience but mine was not good.

Food and service at chefs kitchen are good. They are a new spot working towards a high bar. When I say they were really just middle of the road, nothing exciting nothing horrible, just decent food. The service was a bit lackadaisical, and the dining room was empty. So it was confusing why I didn't get more attention, but I know that these things happen in newer restaurants. All of the food was a little lacking in salt and seasoning, but I am confident that this will be resolved as they get into more of a rhythm with their service. I will probably give them some time to become more established before returning, but it definitely is not a place that I am opposed to visiting again.

Chefs kitchen fairly new location Is located directly across from Budget / Avis Car Rental & Breakout) inside of Carolina place mall. Kudos for having a fine dining upscale restaurant inside the mall . This black owned establishment has a Modern fusion cuisine twist. The lobster & shrimp scampi was delicious. The grilled lamb lollipops were ok in my book but nothing to really brag about . We also had the crab cakes , roasted sea bass and creme brûlée cheesecake. So it's also a full service bar inside as well . Every time I'm in the mall now I make it a point to stop by here and grab a meal .

This establishment was beautiful on the inside & out. I really can't say anything negative about the decor or ambiance. The food itself was prepared beautifully. We started with the Parmesan wings. Those wings were freshly fried & crispy. Perfectly seasoned & so delicious that I almost wished I ordered a second plate as my entree. I also had a blueberry lemon drop martini. This drink was surprisingly sweet yet totally worth every calorie. Both entrees were delicious but I want to highlight the mashed potatoes. Those were possibly the most well seasoned potatoes I have ever eaten. They were delicious. We will definitely be back to sample the seafood selections next & then really let you know our full review.

Don't miss out on this place because it's in the mall. We moved here from south Florida and have been disappointed in Charlotte's food scene, but despite going to the "hotspots" here, this place is a true standout. We tried crab cake appetizer, lobster ravioli entree, and the fried chicken entree. All were delicious and I would absolutely order again. The fried chicken reminded me of some of the best I've had from Atlanta. The lobster ravioli had a small lobster tail (maybe FL lobster) cooked well, on top of the ravioli filling. The pasta was topped with a Cajun cream sauce that was really so tasty. Texture was perfect. We got the crème brûlée cheesecake and it was really delicious, not overly sweet and texture reminded me of Junior's cheesecake in NYC, which is a real institution for cheesecake. The location is near a mall entrance, it's near Barnes & Noble but the inside is a proper sit down restaurant, don't worry you're not eating in a food court. There are some TVs on the wall but overall ambiance is very nice. The bar looks semi-limited but the prices are very reasonable for wine. I had Prosecco at $6 per glass which is pretty unheard of in Charlotte. Our total bill for 2 people, drinks, appetizer, 2 entrees, and dessert was $120, which is again great for Charlotte. Service was good, place was quiet despite it being a weekend. I hope they stay busy because this place is just too good! Don't judge it by location, give it a try and you definitely will be back.

I tried Chefs Kitchen back in February for my birthday. I went during the week so it wasn't too busy. The decor is nice and cute. The food was delicious! The salmon was soft and seasoned not over cooked. The cheese sauce was light and flavorful which really took the meal to the next level. Nothing too special about the shrimp but it was good. The potatoes were crispy and a nice side to this dish. I actually started my meal with a Peach Moscow Mule and rolls (not pictured). The drink was refreshing but I wished it was a bit stronger. The rolls were a bit too hard for me so I wasn't a big fan. Now the cheesecake! Baybeeee was so good! Crème brûlée alone is good but fusing it with cheesecake is genius. I definitely will be going back.

The food here is really good, packed with flavor and very nicely plated. I was not a fan of the cocktails (they were mainly syrup) but I do believe they also have wine & beer. The ambiance feels like an old cafeteria to me. I went on a Friday night and my fiancé and I were the ONLY people dining. I'd order from this establishment again but most likely to go.

Don't let the location fool you. Not your typical mall restaurant. The decor is very nice, but the food is what makes it. We started with the grilled Caesar salad and crab cakes both were delicious. My husband had the lobster stuffed ravioli and I had Salmon New Orleans. The portions were filling. My husbands lobster was soft not rubbery with just the right amount of heat. My salmon was probably the best I've had. We definitely will be going back again

I made a pickup order through DoorDash on a Saturday evening at 7:46pm and my ordered would be ready at 8:32pm. I live not to far so that was perfect; I arrived at 8:40pm. There wasn't a hostess but a sign directing me to the bar for pick up. The bartender got my name and went and checked. About 9 that same bartender came and asked me my name and order again and I gave the information. She came right back and said it would be 10 more minutes. I was kindly offered a drink from the other bartender which I declined. Some more time past and the bartender came out and told me that my order had been canceled by DoorDash and she personally would contact DoorDash. I pulled up the app and it then showed my ordered was delayed and would be ready at 10:12 and they close at 10pm. At that same moment someone from the back came out and said oh you telling her about that DoorDash ordered it came through about 10mins ago. Ten minutes prior was when I was informed that it would be ready though. The bartender apologized and offered me some dessert to go along with my meal they had red velvet and chocolate. I chose the red velvet. FINALLY at 9:22 my order was ready.I ordered Bloody Mary Fried Lobster& Shrimp w/ spinach and tomato priced at $37. The meal was delicious and very hot. The lobster wasn't pulled out of its shell it was fried together. Cherry tomatoes were quite a bit but more so decoration not seasoning, sun dried tomatoes probably would been better. The red velvet was moist, not much into sweets.Walked in the restaurant has a nice atmosphere but broken up into 4 parts. Straight ahead walking in is like bigger party areas then to right bar area then right by the door cozy date night area and little in the back like family area.
