My fiance and I decided to call Gail at Cheesecake Etc. for our wedding cake. We heard through the grapevine that she was one of the best. We had our free cake tasting with her today. If you call and set up a meeting with her, she will ask you what kinds of cake/frosting you want to try and you show up and she feeds you cake and draws you a sketch of what your creation will look like! SO GOOD and very competitively priced. Our cake is three layers that will serve up to 75 people and has fondant on one level and decorative work with buttercream on the other layers. No topper or flowers or anything and it cost about $400 with delivery. http://www.cheesecakeetc.biz/

I am an event coordinator for a large hospital system in Charlotte. I found Cheesecake etc. from an internet search. I called Gail and asked her to make a birthday cake for the president of our company and another sheet cake. She made 2 cakes to serve 200 people, as his cake was to be presented at our holiday party. I ordered a red velvet sheet cake with cream cheese frosting and a lemon pound cake with buttercream frosting for the birthday cake. The red velvet cake was AWFUL!!! It was served 1st to the guests and there were so many plates with only one bite taken left on the tables. The cake was EXTREMELY DRY, crumbled to pieces, NO FLAVOR, frosting did not taste like cream cheese. Almost 200 guests were very disappointed and I was so embarrassed. The lemon cake was not as bad but it was not good either! It was also dry and didn't taste like real lemons were used. She charged $400 for these cakes which were not worth a penny of that. I picked up the cakes and she gave me the lemon cake with NO COVERING on it at all, she said she didn't have anything that would fit. My question is, why would you make a product that you don't have the sufficient packaging for if these are the types of cakes you are accustomed to making. I contacted Gail to give her the feedback from myself and the guests. Instead of being apologetic, she was curt and made excuses and offered NOTHING to try and repair this travesty she made for this large group of people. Even one of the guests at the event said that Gail made her daughter's wedding cake and it was AWFUL and dry as well. She said she wished I had talked to her about who I was using beforehand and she would have told me not to use Cheesecake Etc. Since her business if called Cheesecake Etc. maybe that is what she excels in because her customer service and her products are TERRIBLE!!!
