I stopped by Cheats Cheesesteaks in South End, and it was an absolute home run! I had the Cali Cheesesteak, and my friend went for the Diablo. Both were a solid 10/10! The meat was perfectly seasoned, and they nailed the balance of cheese and sauce--no dry cheesesteaks here. The Cali was fresh and flavorful, while the Diablo had just the right amount of spice. The heat wasn't overpowering, and the flavor was perfectly balanced, making it bold and unforgettable without being overly hot.The location is outdoor seating only, which adds to the charm, and it's conveniently located along the Rail Trail--perfect for grabbing a bite during a walk or bike ride. The staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was just as awesome as the food. If you're in Charlotte and looking for the best cheesesteak experience, look no further. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

so I was in town most of the afternoon and needed nourishments before heading out to the airport and didn't know there was a location in the south end where I already was... so it took about 18 minutes to get here and park in the "wrong" lot because I didn't know there was a "the other side" until I went there to order and saw it was completely empty. really learning a lot on this trip... like the season of the fries is weird and I'm not sure if I don't like it or not. and the brisket cheesesteak adds a saucy little sauce and peppers and stuff along with the meat upgrade so I don't have a basis on which to rate the fancier sammich and now I have to make another trip down for a "regular" so I'm starting in the middle. I'm pretty sure it's pretty good but not sure for sure- yes, it's kind of a good problem to have, but it is a problem none the less and apparently there's a hot italian beef sandwich that my or may not take me home - when I know about that I'll let you know.so I was out to the new overlook (which I'm also not sure I like but that's a different review) watching the planes come and go while trying to not make a mess of myself or the car and it turns out not to be much of a problem as long as I have napkins for the juices (and they gave me plenty! so good on them for knowing their product!) thin sliced brisket is easy to eat, very thin, very tender, very moist but that could be the saucing which is fine by me. the onions add a little savor and texture and the japs haven't quite got the heat pickled out so yeah, try to remember that... boy howdy!! fries are a good size and cooked properly but the seasoning seems a bit rough and bitey like this winter rather than a tender warmth of indian summer. coffee was probably a poor beverage choice but it's what I had with me besides the canned margaritas so that's another lesson for today ;-)

This place has the best cheese steaks I've tasted so far in Charlotte. The food is always good, hot and tastes fresh. The customer service is great as well. They speak to you like you are welcomed there.That so important.

GET HERE NOW! We just so happened to stumble across the beaut when we left from the Floating spa. I knew when looking at the menu, this was the stop to make. We ordered the Diablo cheesesteak (Large), Brisket cheesesteak (large) and an order of the cheesesteak loaded fries. The service was quick and we got our fresh hot food in less than 10 mins. Our plan was to eat outside as they have a nice setup but with my hair being slightly damped, we opted for the car as the smell pretty much screamed "EAT ME NOW"! And we did! You guys the flavor goes beyond the amazing aroma. Every bite had the perfect amount of meat, cheese and pepper ratio. And the loaded fries were just as amazing. So I repeat, GET HERE NOW. 12/10, highly recommend!

I heard the hype and was excited to try. We bought chicken Philly's. They were half off due to the Monday special. It lacked so much flavor for us and it was super greasy. I had to use ketchup to give it some taste .I ended up really nauseous later on. The fries were decent and super seasoned.

You can't go wrong with the Diablo and fries. Some days it's spicier and some days it just has a kick. I like spicy so it's up my alley but I also would appreciate it being spicier.

I bought into the hype, and that's all they have unfortunately. Subs were a greasy salty mess. Meat was almost like ground beef texture more than sliced steak. It's wasn't like any sub I had from Philly, besides they used cheeswiz. Cheese is inconsistently mixed in with beef. Bread was good. My kids love subs and wouldn't even finish their subs. Big bummer as I drive an hour for it.
